The Department of Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology and Postgraduate Education provides education and training in the academic discipline “Obstetrics and Gynecology” and related elective courses (“Endoscopic Methods of Treatment in Gynecology,” “Emergency Conditions in Obstetrics and Gynecology”) for ukrainian students of the 4th–6th years of study of the Educational and Research Institute of Medicine, the Faculty of Training Physicians for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Educational and Research Institute of Mental Health, including foreign students enrolled in English-medium programs (specialties 222 “Medicine,” 224 “Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Technologies,” and 225 “Medical Psychology”).
In accordance with the curricula, relevant syllabi have been developed for students of all years of study who are trained at the Department.
Since the introduction of the national licensing exams “STEP-2” and “STEP-3,” the Department’s staff have been continuously involved in the activities of the Testing Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, contributing to the development and expansion of the test item bank in the discipline “Obstetrics and Gynecology.”
The educational process is fully supported by teaching and learning resources. Under the editorship of the Head of the Department, Professor Dmytro Govsieiev and the Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Borys Ventskivskyi, the textbooks “Obstetrics” and “Gynecology” have been published in Ukrainian and English, along with methodological manuals and reference guides.
The Department also provides continuing professional development and advanced training for medical and academic staff.
