Clinical Units:
The Department of Infectious Diseases was founded on October 28, 1925, with M.M. Gubergritz as its first head, and B.Y. Padalka, O.P. Matveev, and G.I. Khomenko as its first employees. The main clinical department is Aleksander (St. Michael’s) clinical hospital, built in 1901.
The department has united many leading scientists who have made a significant contribution to the fight against infectious diseases.
Today, the Department of Infectious Diseases has a staff that pays great attention to the current problems of infectious diseases and takes great responsibility for the implementation of scientific and pedagogical activities of the University.

The department provides teaching of the course “Infectious Diseases” for undergraduate training of specialists in the specialties “Medicine”, “Pediatrics”, “Dentistry”, “Medical Psychology”, “Technologies of medical diagnosis and treatment” in the 1st-6th years and related elective courses.
