Born on 5 October 1956 in Kyiv.

Graduated with honours from the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1980 with a degree in Pediatrics. He is listed in the Golden Book of Honour of KMI. In this year, he began his career at the Department of Faculty Pediatrics, now the Department of Postgraduate Pediatrics of the Bogomolets National Medical University. In 1984, he defended his PhD thesis on ‘Clinical and immunological characteristics and treatment of staphylococcal diseases in young children’. His thesis was supervised by Professor P.M. Gudzenko and Professor P.S. Moshchych.

Since February 1985, he has been an assistant at the Department of Pediatric Diseases No. 1 of the Kyiv Medical Institute. Since April 1993 he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Pediatrics No. 3 of the Bogomolets Ukrainian State Medical University.

In 2000, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic ‘Clinical, bacteriological and immunological characteristics of frequently ill children and differentiated methods of their treatment’. He was awarded the title of professor in 2002.

Since 2003, he has been the Head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 3, and since 2015, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics Postgraduate Education. At the same time, from 2004 to 2015, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Advanced Training of Teachers of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine of I-IV accreditation levels at the Bogomolets National Medical University, in 2002-2003, he was a freelance consultant to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy, Nature Management and Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl Disaster.

Yu. Marushko has been an expert of the Clinical Expert Commission of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine since 2013.

Since 1 August 2015, the Department of Postgraduate Pediatrics under the leadership of Y.V. Marushko has started a new stage of work. Marushko started a new stage of work – postgraduate training at the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Bogomolets National Medical University of doctors-interns in the specialities of Pediatrics, General Practice – Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Allergology, Neonatology. For the first time, educational and methodological materials were developed for the Department’s work with interns, a number of trainings and on-line testing were introduced. Programmes of thematic improvement cycles, internships, specialisation for pediatricians, general practitioners, pediatric allergists, pediatric gastroenterologists, and postgraduate students were developed.

Y.V. Marushko was the first in Ukraine to study the peculiarities of staphylococcal infection in young children and approaches to therapy with the use of antistaphylococcal drugs. These studies were summarised in his PhD thesis.

Further scientific developments of Yu. Marushko are related to the study of the role of immunity and individual bacteria in the formation of a group of children who often suffer from respiratory infections. A number of the results obtained formed the basis of his doctoral dissertation. A new approach to the study of the problem of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with recurrent upper respiratory tract infections was developed, which allows to identify clinical, etiological and pathogenetic variants of frequent respiratory infections in children, including those with chronic tonsillitis, taking into account the clinic, the state of colonisation resistance of the tonsils, and immunity indicators, and contributes to the individual treatment of these patients. The result of his research was the defence of his doctoral thesis in 2000.

The further scientific work of Professor Yu. Marushko is concerned with the development and implementation of recommendations for the treatment and rehabilitation of children suffering from respiratory infections. Epidemiological studies have been conducted on the state of micronutrient supply of children, including iron, zinc, copper, and others, and treatment regimens for these children have been developed. Treatment regimens have been developed for children with secondary cardiomyopathy, autonomic dysfunctions, pneumonia, and atopic dermatitis.

Today, the main directions of scientific and practical work of Y.V. Marushko are related to the study of various somatic pathologies in children. The main areas of research are: arterial dystonia (hypertension, hypotension) in children, exercise tolerance in children with various somatic pathologies, trace element deficiencies, functional and organic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, lactase deficiency, allergic pathology, in particular, the treatment of allergic rhinitis in children.

Professor Yu. Marushko introduced ultrasound methods, daily ECG monitoring, daily blood pressure monitoring, bicycle ergometry, determination of trace elements, immunological studies, and a breath hydrogen test with food lactose load.

He is the author of more than 1100 scientific papers, co-author of 13 monographs, 8 textbooks, 72 manuals, 13 methodological recommendations, and 12 industry innovations. The priority of his research is confirmed by 52 copyright certificates and patents of Ukraine.

The index of the department is 5 according to Scopus, 1 according to Web of Science and 15 according to Google Academy.

Yu. Marushko successfully trains highly qualified personnel in pediatrics. Under his supervision, 1 Doctor of Science, 4 Candidates of Science and 3 Doctors of Philosophy have defended their theses. One doctoral student and 4 postgraduate students are studying.

He was repeatedly included in the top ten best scientific and pedagogical staff of the clinical departments of NMU. According to the results of the 2022-2023 academic year, he took the first place in the ranking of scientific and pedagogical staff of clinical departments.

Yu. Marushko has been a member of the Board of the Association of Pediatricians of Ukraine since 2004, Executive Secretary of the Association of Pediatricians of Ukraine, member of the editorial board of three professional medical journals.

Member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology since 2019.

Chairman of the Specialised Academic Council D.26.003.04 of the National Medical University for the defence of doctoral dissertations in the speciality ‘Pediatrics’.

He is the guarantor of the educational and scientific programme for the preparation of Doctors of Philosophy 22 Healthcare, 228 Pediatrics.

He was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2002), the Diploma of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2004), the Acknowledgement of the Mayor of Kyiv (2007, 2010). He was awarded the Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr the Great, III degree (Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Kyiv Patriarchate) (2010), Certificate of Honor of the Academic Council of the Bogomolets National Medical University (2019). She graduated from the Ukrainian State Medical University in 1994. In 2004, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences on the topic: ‘The state of the cardiac conduction system in children with supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardia and criteria for differentiated therapy’. In 2017, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic: ‘Primary arterial hypertension in children: systemic mechanisms of adaptation, differentiated therapy’. His research work is related to the study of cardiovascular pathology in children (arterial hypertension, hypotension, exercise tolerance, heart rhythm and conduction disorders, etc.) He has about 300 scientific papers and 3 patents of Ukraine. He is a co-author of 33 textbooks and one monograph. In 1976, he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Pediatrics of the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute and was included in the Golden Book of Honour of the Institute. In 1976, he also graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Patent Studies.

He defended his PhD thesis on ‘Clinical significance of lipid metabolism in chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer in children’ in 1981, and his doctoral thesis on ‘Immunodependence and directions of immunotherapy of chronic diseases of the gastroduodenal zone in children’ in 1996.

From January 1981 to November 1991 – Assistant, from November 1991 – Associate Professor, and from 1.09.2014 – Professor of the Department of Pediatrics №3 (now the Department of Pediatrics of Postgraduate Education). He was awarded the academic title: ‘Associate Professor’ – in 1993, “Professor” – in 2015.

Main areas of scientific and practical work: study of etiology, immunodeficiency and development of immunotherapy of chronic diseases of the gastroduodenal zone, state and correction of lipid metabolism in children with gastroenterological pathology, modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of children with diseases of the urinary system, pathology of young children, experimental gastroenterology.

Author of 275 scientific papers, including 14 books (monographs, manuals), 3 inventions, 5 rationalisation proposals, 2 methodological recommendations and 2 information letters. He is the author of the experimental model of chronic gastroduodenitis.

I. Borysenko was responsible at the department for educational and methodological work at 3 courses and for medical work at the Children’s Clinical Hospital №8 in Kyiv. Kyiv’, the head of the scientific circle of interns, from 2006 to 2008 he was the head of the department. Member of the approbation, specialised and cycle methodological councils in the speciality ‘Pediatrics’ from 1996 to 2020. From 1995 to 2000, he was the Secretary of the Rectorate of the Bogomolets National Medical University.

For his conscientious and effective work, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a Certificate of Honour from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Kyiv, Certificates of Honour from the Department of Health of Kyiv, the Academic Council of the Bogomolets National Medical University and the Council of the Kyiv Trade Union of Healthcare Workers. Graduated from Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1988 with a degree in Pediatrics. Internship in neonatology in 1988-1989. In 1989, he began his career as a neonatologist at Kyiv Maternity Hospital No. 2. In 1996, he defended his PhD thesis. In 1998-2001, he worked as a pediatrician at the Newborns’ Department of the Institute of Pediatrics and Child Health of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. From 2001 to 2002 – researcher, and from 2002-2017 – senior researcher at the Department of Neonatology, State Institution of Pediatrics and Child Health, Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv). In 2015, he defended his doctoral dissertation ‘Health status of newborns born to mothers with herpesvirus infection: mechanisms of immunological reactivity formation, diagnosis and correction of disorders’. The work develops an algorithm and a differentiated approach to the management of newborns from infected mothers, addresses the issues of correction of immunological response disorders, approaches to therapy with the use of antiherpetic drugs.

In 2017-2022, he worked as a professor at the Department of Neonatology at the National Healthcare Institute of Ukraine.

Since 2022, he has been a professor at the Department of Pediatrics of the Bogomolets National Medical University.

To date, the main directions of scientific and practical work of A.O. Pysariev concern the study of the influence of perinatal factors on the condition and development of children. The main of these areas are: arterial dystonia and metabolic diseases in children, functional and organic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, allergic pathology. A.O. Pysariev is a neonatologist of the highest category; he performs consultative work at Kyiv Clinical Hospital No. 3.

He is the author of 104 published scientific papers, including 23 in English, and 11 utility model patents. Scopus Hirsch Index – 1, Google Scholar Hirsch Index – 2. His total work experience is 33 years, with 20 years of scientific experience.

He was awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine of 03.12.2008, No. 381-Kn, and the Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Kyiv of 22.06.2005, No. 43625.

In 1982, she graduated from the pediatric faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute, after which she worked first as a senior laboratory technician, and later as an assistant at the department of pediatrics. She defended her PhD thesis in gastroenterology. Since 2011, she has held the position of associate professor of the department. Today, the priority direction of scientific and medical activity is the management of healthy and sick children in the first three years of life. She has experience working with a certain category of patients with hematological and nephrological pathology. Constantly develops in these directions, takes part in clinical rounds of leading doctors – children’s hematologists, nephrologists, infectious disease specialists and uses their experience in teaching the relevant sections. She is pediatrician of the highest qualification category. She has more than 100 printed works, including the educational and methodological manual “Children’s hematology”.

At the department, she is responsible for medical work and teaching the “Child’s Health” course for interns in the specialty “General practice – family medicine”

She worked as a lecturer in pediatrics at Lviv State Medical College, with the pedagogical title of teacher-methodologist. She defended her PhD thesis on “Peculiarities of the course and treatment of food allergy in young children”. Since 2003, she has been working at the Bogomolets National Medical University. She is a pediatrician of the highest qualification category. Research interests: management of healthy children, mental health, allergology, post-COVID conditions. Author and co-author of more than 110 publications, including more than 30 on educational and methodological topics and the manual “Emergency Conditions in Pediatrics”. In 2000-2003 she studied in graduate school. In 2005, she defended her candidate’s dissertation on the topic “Differentiated treatment of chronic gastroduodenal diseases in children with antisecretory drugs, taking into account the cholate-forming function of the liver.” Later, she developed in all areas of pediatrics.

In 1982, he graduated from Vinnytsia Medical Institute named after M.I. Pirogov. He worked as a pediatrician in a rural health clinic, an allergist, an infectious disease specialist, the head of the physiotherapy department, and the head of the infectious disease prevention department.

From 1987 to 1989, he studied in residency at the Research Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, specializing in social medicine and healthcare management. In 1992, he defended his dissertation to obtain the Candidate of Medical Sciences degree on the topic: “Ways to improve preventive work with young children in the conditions of a children’s city polyclinic.”

In 1995, he completed his studies in the master’s program at the Institute of Public Administration and Self-Governance under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, defending his dissertation with the title of Master of Public Health on the topic: “Introduction of contractual medicine as an option for reforming the system of medical care for children in Ukraine.” He revalidated his master’s degree at the Institute of Public Health in Bratislava (Slovakia) in English.

In 2015, he defended his dissertation to obtain the Doctor of Medical Sciences degree on the topic: “Medical, social, and psychological-pedagogical factors influencing the health of school-aged children and ways to improve the quality of their health monitoring.”

From 2003 to 2016, he worked at the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology as a senior research fellow, and from 2016 to 2021, he served as the head of the Department of Fundamental Medicine and Acting Director of the Educational and Research Center of the Medical Institute at Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National University of Cherkasy. Since 2022, he has been working as an Associate Professor. His professional experience spans 44 years. He is responsible for overseeing international work at the department.

His scientific research focuses on studying the combined influence of medical, psychological, and social factors on the health of children and adolescents. He has authored 165 scientific publications, co-authored one monograph, two educational manuals, and several methodological recommendations

In 2006 she graduated from the Faculty of Pediatrics at the Dnipro State Medical Academy. In 2008-2011, she worked as the head of the admission department of the Children’s Regional Hospital in Kropyvnytskyi. From 2011-2016, she studied clinical residency and postgraduate studies at the Department of Pediatrics #3 of Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2014, she graduated with honors from the Bogomolets National Medical University. From 2014 to 2016, she completed an internship in the specialty “Pediatrics” at the Department of Pediatrics of Postgraduate Education of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Bogomolets National Medical University, while simultaneously studying for a master’s degree in the same specialty.

Since 2014, Khomych O.V. worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the department, and since September 2019 she has been working as an assistant. During her work at the department, she proved herself as a responsible and goal-oriented employee. In 2024, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic ” Acoustic hardware diagnosis of lung lesions in children with pneumonia”. Has certificates confirming knowledge of the English language at the B2 and C1 levels (CEFR) and is responsible at the department for students of the English-language form of education (AFN).

In 2024, Khomych O.V. completed training for teachers under the certified program “Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM)” and became a tutor in evidence-based medicine. She is an active member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS).

The main directions of scientific and practical work: implementation of modern methods of acoustic diagnostics for the detection and assessment of diseases of the respiratory system in children. Khomych O.V. is the author of 36 scientific papers and 2 patents of Ukraine for a useful model.

In 2003, she graduated from the Faculty of Pediatrics at the Bogomolets National Medical University. Until 2007, she worked as a pediatrician at Polyclinic No. 2 in Podil district. In 2007-2011, she studied in postgraduate studies at the Department of Pediatrics #5 of the Bogomolets National Medical University. Since 2010, she has been working as an assistant at the department. In 2011, she defended her PhD thesis on ‘Prediction of the course of chronic gastroduodenitis in children with regard to aggression factors and gastroprotective potential’. She is a pediatrician of the highest category. Main directions of scientific and practical work: modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of gastroenterological pathology in children. In 1993, graduated from the Faculty of Pediatrics of the Bohomolets Ukrainian State Medical University. From 1993 to 1998, worked as a pediatrician in the clinical diagnostic and gastroenterological departments of the children’s clinic at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1998, was elected to the position of junior researcher, and in 2000 – to the position of senior researcher of the academic group on the problems of a healthy child and worked under the supervision of academician O.M. Lukianova until 2003. In 2000, defended PhD thesis on “Clinical and immunological characteristics and improvement of treatment of children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis”. From 2003 to 2017, worked as a senior researcher at the Department of Connective Tissue Diseases in Children of the State Institution “IPMG named after Academician O.M. Lukyanova of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”. In 2016, was awarded the academic title of senior researcher. From 2017 to 2021, worked as an assistant at the Department of Pediatrics №5 of the Bohomolets National Medical University.From 2021 to 2023 – Assistant of the Department of Pediatrics of Postgraduate Education at Bohomolets National Medical University.From 2023 to the present – Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics Postgraduate Education of the Bohomolets National Medical University. In 2008, she graduated in absentia with honors from the MAUP with a specialty in medical psychology. In 2014-2018, she studied at the Correspondence Postgraduate School of the Institute of Special Pedagogy of the NAPN of Ukraine. Since 2018, she has been working as an assistant at the department. She graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty #2 of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, she studied at an internship in pediatrics at the Department of Pediatrics of the Postgraduate Education of the Bogomolets National Medical University and in the magistracy. 2017 she defended her master’s thesis with “excellent” marks. Since September 2017, she has been working as an assistant at the department. In 2024, she defended her dissertation for the Doctor of Philosophy degree on the topic “Condition of tolerance to physical activity and quality of life in school-age children who have had COVID-19 and approaches to correction of defined impairments”. She is a pediatrician of the second category, specializing in pediatric rheumatology. Вступив в аспірантуру на кафедру педіатрії післядипломної освіти НМУ імені О.О.Богомольця у 2020 році, де у 2024 році під керівництвом завідувача кафедрою, д.м.н., професора Марушко Ю.В. захистив дисертацію на тему «Кліщова сенсибілізація при персистуючому алергічному риніті у дітей та ефективність протикліщової алерген-специфічної імунотерапії».

Працює асистентом кафедри з 2021 р.

Член Європейської академії алергії та клінічної імунології (EAACI) з 2021 року, з 2020 року приймає участь у щорічних конгресах академії, публікуючи наукові матеріали, доповідаючи із стендовими доповідями та клінічними кейсами.

Закінчила медичний факультет № 4 Національного медичного університету імені О.О.Богомольця в 2020р. і отримала кваліфікацію «Лікар».

З 2020 по 2022 рр. навчалася в інтернатурі за фахом «Педіатрія» на кафедрі педіатрії післядипломної освіти Інституту післядипломної освіти Національного медичного університету імені О.О. Богомольця.

З 2022р. – аспірант кафедри педіатрії післядипломної освіти НМУ імені О.О.Богомольця, розпочала роботу над дисертацією на тему: «Вікові особливості та клініко-імунологічна характеристика сенсибілізації до риби та морепродуктів у дітей» під керівництвом завідуючого кафедри, Заслуженого лікаря України, д.м.н., професора Марушка Ю.В.

З 2022 року працює асистентом кафедри педіатрії післядипломної освіти. Отримала сертифікат зі спеціалізації за напрямом дитячої алергології.
