The priority areas of scientific work of the Department of Internal Medicine №4 are the following sections of modern cardiology, rheumatology and internal medicine:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients with comorbid pathology of internal organs
  • Imbalance of the amino acid composition of blood plasma as a possible pathogenetic link in the development of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease
  • Treatment of heart rhythm disorders in post-infarction patients with type 2 diabetes
  • Features of treatment of patients with generalized atherosclerosis
  • The state of the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with coronary heart disease with paroxysmal form of atrial fibrillation
  • The role of disruption of tryptophan and serotonin metabolism in patients with generalized atherosclerosis
  • ASA-induced gastropathy in patients with high cardiovascular risk.
  • The role of humoral and cellular immunity disorders in the development of atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndrome
  • Forecasting the course of unstable angina by studying the fatty acid spectrum of platelets
  • Features of diagnosis and treatment of ischemic heart disease in patients with concomitant pancreatitis
  • Postprandial hypotension, mechanisms of development, diagnosis, treatment
  • Obesity is a risk factor for the development of hyperinsulinemia in patients with essential arterial hypertension
  • The role of violations of the fatty acid spectrum of lymphocytes in the development of coronary heart disease
  • Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome: relationship to cardiovascular disease
  • The state of activity of the dopaminergic system as one of the factors in the development of arterial hypertension and obesity
  • Treatment of systolic heart dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes who have undergone a non-Q myocardial infarction
  • Determination of changes in blood lipid spectrum indicators in post-infarction patients with type 2 diabetes
  • Medicinal correction of disorders of the fatty acid spectrum of erythrocyte membranes in patients with a permanent form of atrial fibrillation
  • Hyperinsulinemia on long-term prognosis in patients with arterial hypertension and metabolic disorders

In recent years, scientists of the department have conducted and continue to conduct research on the following topics:

  • Use of pemafibrate to reduce cardiovascular complications by lowering triglycerides in patients with diabetes mellitus)
  • Open-label phase 3b study to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of vedolizumab for subcutaneous administration in patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease
  • Impaired hemodynamics, coronary circulation and ectopic myocardial activity in patients with coronary heart disease with concomitant diabetes mellitus, methods of drug correction
  • Long-term study of the effects to assess the reduction of residual risk with statin in combination with Epanov in patients with high cardiovascular risk hypertriglyceridemia (“STRENGTH”)
  • Changes in the amino acid spectrum of blood plasma in patients with coronary heart disease with cardiac arrhythmias and their drug correction
  • Influence of serum amino acid spectrum in type 2 diabetes mellitus on cardiovascular risk indicators in patients with coronary heart disease and methods of drug correction
  • Features of the course of unstable angina depending on the functioning of the hemostasis system in different variants of statin therapy
  • Clinicopathogenetic justification for the use of cilostosol in patients with complicated hypertension
  • Comprehensive assessment of hemodynamic and metabolic disorders in patients with coronary heart disease combined with type II diabetes mellitus and possible drug correction.
  • Violation of the fatty acid spectrum of platelets, immunological status and amino acid spectrum of blood serum and the possibility of drug correction)
  • Changes in the fatty acid spectrum of erythrocyte membranes with a constant form of atrial fibrillation
  • Disorders of lipid, carbohydrate and protein metabolism in patients with coronary heart disease with concomitant hypertension, the possibility of drug correction
