Oleksiy Ivanovich Dronov, head of the department, doctor of medicine, professor

Professor Dronov O.I. belongs to the scientific school of students of Academician O.O. Shalimova.

In 1982, he graduated from the medical faculty of the Kharkiv Medical Institute, majoring in “Medical business”.In 1997, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic “Surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis complicated by the formation of pseudocysts.”

In 2003, he defended his doctoral thesis “Diagnosis and surgical treatment of extrahepatic bile duct tumors”. The degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences was awarded by the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine in 2003. Dronov O.I.

By decision of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine in 2004, he was awarded the title of professor.

Honored worker of science and technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, scientific director of the Kyiv Department of Liver, Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery named after V.S. Zemskova.

The main directions of scientific research: surgery of the liver, pancreas, bile ducts, organs of the gastrointestinal tract and retroperitoneal space – development of combined and two-stage resection methods using cryotechnologies, research on the use of calcium chloride solution for chemical ablation of tumors and liver metastases, experimental work on low-temperature potentiation using hypertonic NaCl solution. The scientifically proven role of IL-6 in the early diagnosis of bile duct cancer. A system of diagnostic and therapeutic measures for acute pancreatitis was developed, hemocoagulation disorders and their correlations with the severity of acute pancreatitis and the concentration of microbial metabolites in the blood were investigated. For the first time in the world, low temperatures were used to destroy a low-flow stump of the pancreas. The qualitative and quantitative nature of enzymes and tumor markers of the contents of pancreatic cysts, combined resections and radical surgical interventions for genital and extragenital malignant tumors in pregnant women were studied.

Professor Dronov O.I. has the most experience in Ukraine in performing total pancreatectomies and studying the post-pancreatectomy syndrome, the nature of malassimilation, the characteristics of the occurrence and course of carbohydrate metabolism disorders, liver steatosis, osteoporosis as a consequence of exocrine disorders.

Scientific developments in the field of cryomedicine are related to the study of cryodia mechanisms for various biological tissues (liver, pancreas, blood vessels).

For scientific developments in the field of cryomedicine in 2011 and 2013, he was awarded the “Gold Medal” of the International Society of Cryosurgeons.

His research formed the basis of international and state protocols for the treatment of acute pancreatitis. It has 40 sectoral innovations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In 2016, he was awarded a diploma and badge of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for outstanding services to the Ukrainian people. He was repeatedly awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Kyiv City Administration for his significant contribution to health care and the organization of highly qualified medical care in Ukraine and high professionalism.

Professor O.I.Dronov created his own scientific and pedagogical school – 4 doctors and 11 candidates of medical sciences.

O.I. Dronov is the editor-in-chief of the international journal “Surgery. Eastern Europe”, member of the expert group of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for consideration of works submitted for the award of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, member of the presidium of the association of surgeons of Ukraine, – the board of the association of surgeons of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, – the working group of the scientific society of surgeons of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, – the association of surgeons – hepatologists of the CIS countries, – association of specialists in minimally invasive, endoscopic and laser technologies, – European Pancreatic Club, – Vice-President of the International Society of Cryosurgeons. The author of more than 500 printed works, including 25 manuals, 97 patents of Ukraine for inventions, 3 copyright certificates for inventions of the USSR, 2 methodological recommendations. It also has 8 innovative proposals.

Inna Oleksandrivna Kovalska, professor of the department, Doctor of Medicine.

From 2007 to the present, he holds the position of professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets

Inna Oleksandrivna Kovalska graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Saratov State Medical Institute in 1984. Since September 1985, after completing an internship in surgery, she worked as a surgeon at Clinical Hospital No. 10 in Kyiv.

In 1995, she was accepted as an assistant at the Department of General Surgery

No. 1 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. In 1997, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Surgical correction of diabetic angiopathy”.

Since 06.26.2000, after being elected through a competition, she worked as an associate professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. On June 20, 2002, he was awarded the academic title of “docent”. In 2007, she defended her doctoral thesis “Treatment of acute pancreatitis with the priority of preserving the exocrine and endocrine functions of the pancreas.”

Since September 2007, he has been a professor of the department, in 2010 he was awarded the academic title of “Professor”.

I.O. Kovalska is a highly qualified surgeon who knows all modern methods of emergency and planned surgical interventions on organs of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space, specializing in “Surgery”, “Oncogynecology”, “Laparoscopic surgery”.

Scientific topics and areas of research: treatment and prevention of liver diseases, treatment and prevention of gallstone disease and its complications, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the pancreas, treatment and prevention of purulent-septic complications in general surgery, immunodiagnostics and immunotherapy in surgery, efferent therapy in the treatment of acute pancreatitis, minimally invasive surgery, comprehensive program for the treatment of complications of diabetes (beta cell transplantation, metabolic surgery of diabetes).

Currently, he is a famous scientist not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. Author of more than 170 printed works, co-author of 11 educational and methodological guides, one textbook, 3 certificates of registration of copyright for inventions, 35 declaratory patents for inventions of Ukraine. Three PhD theses were defended under her supervision.

Korpan Mykola Mykolayovych, professor of the department, Doctor of Medicine.

One of the first capable surgeons and successful scientists in the cohort of the famous and talented domestic professor-surgeon with a world name, Doctor of Medical Sciences Volodymyr Serhiyovych Zemskov, head of the Department of General Surgery of the Kyiv National Medical University (1981-2002).

After graduating from medical school with honors in 1976, he entered the medical faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute. By decree of the Minister of Health of the Ukrainian SSR, he received the highest personal scholarship named after V.I. Lenin for higher educational institutions of the USSR during the last three years of study at the medical institute.

After graduating from the 1st medical faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute with honors – listed in the Golden Book of Honors of the Kyiv Medical Institute – he began his professional path as a practical surgeon and future scientist precisely in the clinical residency at the Department of General Surgery of the Kyiv Medical Institute named after O.O. Bogomolets under the leadership of the head of the department, professor V.S. Zemskova (1982-1984).

After completing the clinical residency, he worked as a resident surgeon at the Kyiv City Hospital No. 14 named after the October Revolution, which was the clinical base of the Department of General Surgery of the Capital Medical Institute.

In 1985, he was enrolled as a senior researcher at the Department of General Surgery of the Kyiv Medical Institute on scientific and economic topics (Head Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences V.S. Zemskov). In the same year, he defended his candidate’s thesis with the award of the scientific degree of candidate of medical sciences (supervisor, professor, doctor of medical sciences V.S. Zemskov).

Since 1988, working as an assistant at the Department of General Surgery of the Kyiv Medical Institute named after O.O. Bogomoletsa, continued active pedagogical and scientific activity, as a result of which a doctoral dissertation was successfully defended. Scientific consultants were professor V.S. Zemskov and Director of the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Surgery Academician O.O. Shalimov (1990).

Korpanu M.M. awarded the academic title of associate professor (Ministry of Education of Ukraine, 1997) and the academic title of professor (Ministry of Education of Ukraine, 1997).

Professor Mykola Korpan is the author and co-author of 305 scientific publications in domestic and international scientific journals. Conducted innovative theoretical and practical research in vitro and in vivo on the problems of using ultra-low temperatures in biomedical science and clinical practice. For the first time in the world, he introduced a number of new methods of treating malignant diseases using ultra-low temperatures. Discovered and described a number of phenomena in biomedical science and practice, in particular, in cryobiology, with the application of low temperatures, namely, the phase processes of the action of low temperatures on living matter, exogenous provocations in living systems, phenomena of cryogenic necrosis and apoptosis of biological structures, local and systemic cryogenic immunity.

For the first time in the world, experimental electron-microscopic studies were conducted in cryobiology, which discovered new mechanisms of response of living biological structures to the action of super-low temperatures.

Author and co-author of 46 national, European and international patents, including the USA and Japan. Author, co-author and editor-in-chief of 11 scientific monographs published in well-known domestic and international scientific publishing houses.

Awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology in 2017 together with a group of Ukrainian scientists. NAS of Ukraine, 12/2017.

Honorary President of the World Society of Cryosurgery, Honorary Member of the Japanese Society of Low Temperature Medicine. Awarded numerous national and international scientific prizes. Reviewer of a number of international scientific publications (Peer Reviewer), such as Low Temperature Medicine, Tokyo, Japan; Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, Oslo, Norway; Cancer Medicine, USA; Cell and Tissue Banking (CATB), USA; Current Cancer Therapy Reviews (CCTR), USA.

 

 

 

zemskovSerhii Volodymyrovych Zemskov, professor of the department, Doctor of Medicine.

In 1999, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine No. 1 of the National Medical University named after O. O. Bogomolets and entered the internship and master’s degree at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O. O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

2001 – completed his master’s degree and internship in general surgery and got a job as a surgeon at the Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancreas on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10. In the same year, he enrolled in correspondence postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oncology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

2002 – completed pre-certification courses in oncology. In the same year, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on a competitive basis.

2002-2003 – completed a clinical internship at the Center for Oncology, Endocrinology and Mini-Invasive Surgery, Neu Ulm and performed research work at the molecular biology laboratory of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Working Group at Ulm University, Ulm, Germany under the supervision of prof. H.G. Beger.

In 2004, he defended his thesis for the title of Doctor of Medicine at Ulm University, Ulm, Germany. Dissertation topic: “Molecular determination of metastases in regional lymph nodes of pancreatic cancer patients. Clinical significance.”

2006 – re-certification of the dissertation for the title of Candidate of Medical Sciences (Ukraine).

2012 – specialization in oncology.

In 2015, he was awarded the title of associate professor. The department is responsible for teaching English-speaking students.

In 2017, he received a doctoral scholarship from the German Association for Academic Exchange (DAAD)

In 2018 defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences “Diagnosis and complex treatment of malignant neoplasms of the pancreas”

The main directions of scientific and practical research: biotherapy in oncology; abdominal oncology; pancreatic cancer.

Ihor Leonidovych Nastashenko, professor of the department, Doctor of Medicine.

He graduated from the medical faculty of the O.O. Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1988. During 1988-1996, he worked as a doctor-surgeon of the X-ray endoscopic operating unit of the Kyiv Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery.

In 1996, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic “Endoscopic papillosphincterotomy in patients with peripapillary diverticula.” From the same year until 2004, he worked in the medical department of endoscopic diagnostics and surgery of the Kyiv Main Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, part-time as a senior lecturer at the Department of Military Field Surgery of the National Military Medical Academy.

Since 2004, he has been working as an assistant at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University

In 2010, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic “Endovideoscopic diagnosis and transpapillary correction of bile duct obstruction of non-tumor origin.

10.10.13 Nastashenko I.L. awarded the academic title of associate professor of the Department of General Surgery. From September 1, 2014, he was transferred to the position of professor of the same department.

Nastashenko I.L. is responsible for methodical work at the department, leads the work of the student scientific group of the department, is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine No. 2, where he heads the work with young scientists, a member of the Approbation Scientific Council of NMU for Surgery, a member of the Ukrainian, Russian and European Associations of Hepatological Surgeons and Endoscopists , a member of the editorial board of the specialized publication “Surgery. Eastern Europe”, member of the Presidium of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine. The main direction of scientific and practical activity: endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of pathology of hepatopancreatoduodenal organs.

Nastashenko I.L. is the author of 150 scientific works, 34 patents of Ukraine for inventions, 5 copyright certificates for inventions of the USSR, 1 monograph, 1 methodological recommendations, 1 study guide. Under the leadership of Professor I.L. Nastashenko defended 3 candidates and 1 doctoral thesis.

Head teacher of the department

He graduated with honors from the Kyiv Medical Institute named after Acad. O.O. Bogomolets in 1992.

From 1996 to 1999 studied at a postgraduate course at the Department of Thoraco-Abdominal and Vascular Surgery of the Kyiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, where he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic: “Prevention and treatment of paresis of the gastrointestinal tract after operations on the large intestine”.

Skomarovsky O.A. has been working as a teacher at the department since 2000. Until September 2003, he worked as an assistant at the department.

In 2007, he was awarded the title of associate professor of the department.

Takes an active part in scientific work, repeatedly spoke at practical and educational-methodical conferences, congresses, symposiums in Ukraine and abroad. He has 57 scientific works, 8 inventions and 7 innovative proposals.

At the department, he performs a significant amount of educational and methodical work, develops methodological recommendations for students and teachers to study the discipline “General Surgery” in the conditions of the credit-module system of education. He is a co-author of educational programs in general surgery.

At the modern professional level, he gives lectures, conducts practical and seminar classes in the 2-3 courses of medical faculties #2, #3, #4 and medical and psychological.

Has 102 printed works and 7 patents of Ukraine for inventions.

In 1999, he graduated from the Medical Faculty No. 2 of the Donetsk State Medical University named after M. Gorkyhoz with a specialty in “medical affairs”.

After graduating from the medical university, from 1999 to 2001, he completed an internship at the Donetsk City Center for Gastrointestinal Bleeding at MKL No. 16. From 2001 to 2002, he worked as a surgeon in the central district hospital of Pyryatyn, Poltava region, from May 2002 to December 2003, a surgeon -combustiologist of the Kyiv city burn center MKL No. 2. From 2003 to August 2004, he worked as a surgeon at polyclinic No. 2 of the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. Since 2004 after 2006 studied at the clinical residency at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as a surgeon at the City Center for Surgery of Liver, Pancreas and Biliary Tracts named after V.S. Zemskov at KMKL No. 10. In 2006, he entered correspondence postgraduate studies at NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets from the specialty “general surgery”. Since September 2010, an assistant at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets Since 2014, he has been an associate professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O. O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2010, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic “Diagnosis and surgical treatment of cystic lesions of the pancreas, taking into account their pathomorphological features.”

He has more than 50 scientific works, is a co-author of 10 declaratory patents for a useful model of Ukraine.

She graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty No. 3 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University in 1998.

In 2001, she completed an internship in general surgery and got a job as a surgeon at the Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancreas on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In 2001, she completed an internship in plastic surgery in Moscow, at the “Krasy” Institute.

From 2001 to 2012, she worked as a surgeon at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In 2006, she received a higher qualification category in the specialty “Surgery”.

In 2006, she completed an internship in thoracic surgery and laparoscopic surgery.

Since 2011, he has been an assistant at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2012, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Features of changes in homeostasis indicators in patients with defects of the anterior abdominal wall and obesity after abdominoplasty”.

He graduated from the Medical Faculty No. 2 of the O.O. Bogomolets Kyiv Medical University in 1996.

From 1996 to 1998 studied at an internship in “Surgery” at the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 1999 – oncology course at the International Oncology School (Vienna).

Since 2007 is a valid member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Ozone Therapists and Manufacturers of Ozone Therapy Equipment.

In 2019 defended his dissertation on the topic: “Early surgical treatment of acute biliary pancreatitis.”

From 2019 works as an associate professor of the department.

Has 27 printed works (of which 9 on the topic of the dissertation, 7 in international publications), 12 patents for inventions.

Participates in the development of methodological support for the educational process at the department.

At the department, he organizes the work of the department of efferent therapy, implements methods of ozone therapy, laparoscopic surgery, conducts active medical and diagnostic work at the clinical base – Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In recent years, he has been responsible for the curatorial and educational work of the department.

From 2009 to 2014, he worked as the deputy dean of the Faculty of Medicine No. 2 for educational and educational work.
