Oleksii Dronov, Chairman of the Department, DMSc, Professor

Professor O. Dronov belongs to the academician O.O. Shalimov’s school of scientific thought.

In 1982 O. Dronov graduated from the Medical Faculty of Kharkiv Medical Institute majoring in Medical Care. In 1997 defended a PhD titled “Surgical Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis Complicated by Pseudocysts”.

In 2003 he defended a doctoral thesis titled “Diagnostics and Surgical Treatment of Tumors of the Extrahepatic Bile Ducts”. In 2003, O. Dronov was awarded the title of the Doctor of Medical Sciences by the Higher Attestation Commission. In 2004, by the Resolution of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, he was awarded the title of a Professor.

Professor O. Dronov is a Merited Figure of Science and Technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, research advisor of the V.S. Zemskov Kyiv Division of Surgery of the Liver, Bile Duct and Pancreas.

The main directions of scientific research conducted by Professor O. Dronov include: surgery of the liver, pancreas, bile ducts, gastrointestinal tract organs and retroperitoneum – development of mixed and two-stage resection methods with the use of cryotechnologies, research on the use of calcium chloride for chemical ablation of liver tumors and metastases, experimental works on low temperatures potentiation using hypertonic NaCl solution. The role of Interleukin-6 in the early detection of bile duct cancer has been scientifically proven. A system of diagnostic and treatment measures in acute pancreatitis has been developed; blood coagulation disorders and their correlation with the severity of acute pancreatitis and concentration of microbial metabolites in blood have been studied. For the first time in the world, low temperatures have been used for the destruction of the marginal pancreatic stump. The qualitative and quantitative nature of enzymes and tumor markers of the contents of pancreatic cysts has been studied, mixed resections and curative operations on genital and extragenital malignant tumors in pregnant women have been performed.

Professor O. Dronov has the most extensive experience in Ukraine in performing total pancreatectomies and studying post-pancreatic resection syndrome, the nature of malassimilation, characteristics of the emergence and course of carbohydrate metabolism disorders, liver steatosis, and osteoporosis as a result of exocrinous disorders.

His scientific developments in the area of cryomedicine are connected with the study of cryotherapeutic mechanisms on various biological tissues (liver, pancreas, vessels).

For his scientific developments in cryomedicine in 2011 and 2013, Professor O. Dronov was awarded the golden medal of the International Society of Cryosurgery. His research laid the groundwork for international and domestic protocols of acute pancreatitis treatment. Professor Dronov has 40 industrial innovations for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In 2016, for his outstanding service before the people of Ukraine, Professor O. Dronov was awarded the certificate of honor and the badge of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He received multiple certificates of honor from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Kyiv City Administration for his contribution to healthcare and organization of highly qualified medical service in Ukraine, and for his high professionalism.

Professor O. Dronov created his own academic school of thought – 4 Doctors of Medicine and 11 MD PhDs.

O.Dronov is:

  • the chief editor of the international scientific journal “Surgery. Eastern Europe”,
  • a panelist of the expert group within the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reviewing the works competing for the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,
  • a presidium member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine,
  • a Board member of the Association of Surgeons of Kyiv and Kyiv Region,
  • a member of the working group of the Scientific Society of Surgeons of Kyiv and Kyiv Region,
  • a member of the Association of Hepatology Surgeons of the CIS Countries,
  • a member of the Association of Doctors on Minimally Invasive, Endoscopic and Laser Technologies,
  • a member of the European Pancreatic Club,
  • the Vice President of the International Society of Cryosurgery,
  • a member of the Specialized Academic Council of Bogomolets National Medical University.

He is the author of over 400 printed scientific works, 25 textbooks, 97 patents of Ukraine for invention, 3 author’s certificates for invention of the USSR, 2 methodological recommendations. He also developed 8 proposals for technical improvements.

Inna Kovalska, Professor of the Department, DMSc

From 2007 until present she has held the position of the Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

Inna Kovalska graduated in 1984 from the Medical Department of Saratov State Medical Institute. From September 1985, after she had finished her internship in surgery, I. Kovalska worked as a surgeon in Kyiv Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In 1995 she was appointed to the position of an Assistant Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University. In 1997 she defended her PhD thesis titled “Surgical Correction of Diabetic Angiopathy”.

Since 26 June 2000, after successfully participating in the competitive examination, worked as an associate professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University. On 20 June 2002 I. Kovalska received the title of an Associate Professor.

In 2007 she defended her doctoral thesis titled “Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis with the Priority of Retention of Exo- and Endocrine Functions of the Pancreas”.

Since September 2007 she has held the position of a professor of the Department; in 2010 she received the scientific title of a Professor. I.Kovalska is a highly qualified surgeon and is skilled in all modern methods of urgent and elective surgical interventions in the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneum organs, with specialization in surgery, gynecologic oncology and laparoscopic surgery.

I. Kovalska’s scientific topics and areas of research include: treatment and prevention of liver diseases, treatment and prevention of gallstone disease and complications thereof; diagnostics and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the pancreas, treatment and prevention of purulent-septic complications in general surgery, immunodiagnostics and immunotherapy in surgery, efferent therapy in treating acute pancreatitis, minimally invasive surgery, comprehensive program of treating the complications of diabetes mellitus (beta-cell transplantations, metabolic surgery of diabetes mellitus).

Professor Kovalska is a prominent scientist known both in Ukraine and abroad. She is the author of over 170 printed works, co-author of 11 study guides, one textbook, 3 certificates for registration of copyright for invention, 35 declarative patents of Ukraine for invention. Three PhD thesis were defended under her supervision.

She is a Merited Figure of Science and Technology of Ukraine; is a full member of the International Association of Pancreatology, a member of the European Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Association, the Association of Hepatology Surgeons of the CIS Countries, member of the European Pancreatology Association, the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), Ukrainian Association of Doctors on Minimally Invasive, Endoscopic and Laser Technologies (UAMELT), the member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, European Society for Surgical Oncology (ESSO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), deputy chief editor of the international journal “Surgery. Eastern Europe”, member of the Specialized Academic Council Д 26.631.01., member of the Academic Council of the Medical Faculty No. 2 of  Bogomolets National Medical University.

Ihor Nastashenko, Professor of the Department, DMSc

Graduated from the Medical Faculty of Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1988. From 1988 to 1996 he worked as a surgeon in the Radiography and Endoscopy Surgery Block of Kyiv Research Institute for Clinical and Experimental Surgery.

In 1996, I. Nastashenko defended his PhD thesis entitled “Endoscopic Papillosphincterotomy in Patients with Peripapillary Diverticles”. From 1996 to 2004, I. Nastachenko worked at the Medical Department of Endoscopic Diagnostics and Surgery of Kyiv Main Military Hospital under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and was a part-time senior lecturer at the Department of Battlefield Surgery of the National Military Medical Academy.

In 2004 he was appointed to the position of an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2010 defended a doctoral thesis entitled “Endovideoscopic Diagnostics and Transpapillary Correction of Bile Duct Obstruction of Non-Neoplastic Origin” and received the academic degree of a Doctor of Medical Sciences.

On 10 October 2013, I. Nastashenko was awarded the title of the Associate Professor of the Department of General Surgery. From 01 September 2014 he was made a Professor at the same Department. I.Nastashenko is responsible for the Department’s methodological work; he supervises the Students’ Scientific Circle and is a member of the Academic Council of Faculty No. 2, where he leads the work with young scientists, is a member of Approbation Academic Council within the National Medical University on the matters of surgery, a member of the Ukrainian Association of Hepatology Surgeons, the Russian Endoscopic Society and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, an editorial board member of the specialized publication “Surgery. Eastern Europe”, member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine. The main area of his scientific and practical activities is endoscopic diagnostics and treatment of pathologies of the organs of hepato-pankreato-duodenal area. I.Nastashenko is the author of 150 scientific works, 34 patents of Ukraine for invention, 5 USSR author’s certificates for invention, 1 monograph, 1 methodological guideline, and 1 textbook. Professor I. Nastashenko was the supervisor for 1 PhD thesis.

zemskovSerhii Zemskov, Professor of the Department, DMSc

In 1999 graduated from the Medical Faculty No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University with distinction and was admitted for internship and master’s degree program at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2001 he finished his internship and received a master’s degree in general surgery, received a position of a surgeon in Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Ducts and Pancreas on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10. In the same year he started external postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oncology under the Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine.

In 2002 S. Zemskov finished his pre-certification training in oncological surgery. In the same year he won a competition for German Academic Exchange Service (Deutsche Academische Austausch Dienst, DAAD) scholarship.

From 2002 to 2003, S. Zemskov did a clinical internship in the Center for Oncological, Endocrinological and Minimally Invasive Surgery (Neu-Ulm, Germany) and conducted research in the molecular biology laboratory of the Study Group for Pancreatic Cancer within Ulm University, (Ulm, Germany) lead by Professor H.G. Beger.

In 2004 he defended his doctoral thesis in Ulm University (Ulm, Germany). The topic of the thesis was “Molecular Profiling of Metastases in Regional Lymph Nodes in Patients with Pancreatic Cancer. Clinical Relevance”.

In 2006 S.V. Zemskov’s MD PhD thesis underwent recertification and he was awarded an MD PhD title in Ukraine.

In 2012 he took a specialization course in oncology.

In 2015 S. Zemskov was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. He is responsible for English-speaking students’ studies at the Department.

In 2017 S. Zemskov won a DAAD Doctoral Scholarship.

In 2018 he defended his DMSc thesis entitled “Diagnostics and Comprehensive Treatment of Malignant Neoplasms of the Pancreas”.

The main area of his scientific and practical research are: biotherapy in oncology, abdominal oncology, pancreatic cancer. S. Zemskov has over 30 printed scientific works in domestic and foreign scientific journals.

He is a member of the European Pancreatic Club and International Association of Pancreatology, Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, European Society for Surgical Oncology (ESSO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).

Oleksii Skomarovskyi, Associate Professor of the Department, MD PhD

Department’s Director of Teaching

In 1992 graduated from Bogomolets Kyiv Medical University with distinction. From 1996 to 1999, studied for a PhD at the Department of Thoracic, Abdominal and Vascular Surgery within Kyiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, where he defended his PhD thesis titled “Prevention and Treatment of Flatulent Distention after Surgery on the Large Intestine”.

O.Skomarovskyi has been a lecturer at the Department since 2000. Before September 2003 he worked as an Assistant Professor.

In 2007 he was awarded the academic title of the Associate Professor of the Department. O.Skomarovksyi actively participates in the Department’s research activities, gave numerous presentations at practice and academic conferences, conventions, symposia in Ukraine and abroad. He is the author of 57 scientific publications, 8 inventions and 7 innovation proposals. O. Skomarovskyi is responsible for a significant part of academic work organization, develops methodical guidelines for students and lecturers on studying general surgery within the credit based modular learning system. He is a co-author of curricula on general surgery.He reads lectures, conducts practical and seminar classes on the state-of-the-art professional level for 2nd and 3rd-year students of Medical Faculties No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and the Medical Psychology Faculty.

Andrii Horlach, Associate Professor of the Department, MD PhD

Graduated from Medical Faculty No. 2 of the M. Gorkiy Donetsk State Medial University in 1999, majoring in medical care.

From 1999 to 2001, after graduating from the Medical University, A. Horlach did an internship on the basis of Donetsk City Center of Gastrointestinal Bleedings within City Clinical Hospital No. 16. From 2001 to 2002 he worked as a surgeon in Pyriatyn Central District Hospital, Poltava region, from May 2002 to December 2003 – as a combustiology surgeon in Kyiv City Burn Center within the City Clinical Hospital No. 2. From 2003 to August 2004 worked as a surgeon of Outpatient Clinic No. 2 of Kyiv City Darnitskyi district. From 2004 to 2006 he did a clinical residency program on the basis of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University. From 2006 to 2010 A. Horlach worked as a surgeon at the V.S. Zemskov Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Ducts and Pancreas within Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10. In 2006 he enrolled on a part-time PhD program of Bogomolets National Medical University with specialization in general surgery. From September 2010, he worked as an Assistant Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of  Bogomolets National Medical University. Since 2014 he has been an Associate Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2010 he defended his PhD thesis entitled “Diagnostics and Surgical Treatment of Cystic Lesions of the Pancreas Based on their Pathomorphological Features”. I.Horlach has 43 scientific works, is a co-author of 10 declarative patents of Ukraine for utility model.

He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, the European Pancreatic Club and the International Association of Pancreatology.

Kyrylo Burmich, Associate Professor of the Department, MD PhD

In 2004 graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University and was recommended by the Academic Council of the Faculty No. 2 for further scientific work with the right of admission to the master’s degree program and was appointed to Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.10 as a surgeon.

From 2004 to 2006 K. Burmich did a master’s degree in General Surgery, defending a qualifying research paper “Prognostication, Prevention and Treatment of Blood Coagulation Disorders in Patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis”.

From 2006, after finishing his internship in surgery, K. Burmich worked as a surgeon the V.S. Zemskov Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Ducts and Pancreas (from 2010 – part-time).

From 2006 to 2010 he did a part-time PhD program of Bogomolets National Medical University with specialization in general surgery.

From 2010 to 2014 worked as an Assistant Professor.

In 2014 defended a PhD thesis titled “Correction of Blood Coagulation Disorders in Comprehensive Treatment of Patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis”.

Since 2015 has been an Associate Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2017 received an EAES grant, Germany.

In 2017 completed an internship at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Lübeck, Germany. K.Burmich is a member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), European Digestive Surgery Society (EDS) and European Pancreatic Club (EPC), Ukrainian Association of Doctors on Minimally Invasive, Endoscopic and Laser Technologies (UAMELT), a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), European Society for Surgical Oncology (ESSO). Graduated with distinction from the Medical Faculty No. 3 of Bogomolets National Medical University in 1998.

In 2001 finished her internship program in general surgery and started working as a surgeon at Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Ducts and Pancreas within Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In 2001 she did an internship in plastic surgery in the Beauty Institute, Moscow.

From 2001 to 2010 she worked as a surgeon in Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In 2006 she was awarded the higher qualification in surgery.

In 2006 did an internship in thoracic and laparoscopic surgery.

From 2011 she has worked as an Assistant Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2012 she defended her PhD thesis titled “Specific Characteristics of the Change of Homeostasis Indicators in Patients with Anterior Abdominal Wall Defects and Obesity after Abdominoplasty”.

In 2016 L. Roshchyna did an internship in plastic surgery and specialization course in gynecological oncology in Kyiv. I.Roshchyna has 28 printed scientific works and 8 patents of Ukraine for invention.

Ruslan Tsymbaliuk, Associate Professor of the Department, MD PhD

Graduated from the Medical Faculty No. 2 of Bogomolets National Medical University in 1996.

From 1996 to 1998 did an internship in surgery on the basis of the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University.

From 1999 worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University.

In 1999 took a course in oncology in the Vienna International School on Oncology.

  1. Tsymbaliuk has been a regular member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Ozone Therapist and Ozone Therapy Equipment Manufacturers since 2007.

In 2019 R. Tsymbaliuk defended a PhD thesis entitled “Early Surgical Treatment of Acute Biliary Pancreatitis”.

Since 2019 he has worked as the Department’s Associate Professor. R.Tsymbaliuk has 27 printed publications (among which 9 are on the topic of his PhD thesis and 7 are in international periodicals), 12 patents for inventions.

He is actively involved in the development of teaching and learning materials for the Department.

His responsibilities at the Department include the organization of the efferent therapy unit, implementation of the methods of ozone therapy and laparoscopic surgery; his treatment and diagnostic work is conducted on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

In the recent years R. Tsymbaliuk is responsible for curatorship and educational work at the Department.

From 2009 to 2014 he worked as a Deputy Dean of the Medical Faculty No. 2 for studies and educational work.

From 2014 to 2015 R. Tsymbaliuk worked as a Deputy Dean for internship and doctors’ continuing education.

Since 2015 R. Tsymbaliuk holds a position of the Deputy Head of the Unit of Treatment and Consultation Work at Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2011 he received an official message of thanks from the Minister of Health of Ukraine.

In 2018 R. Tsymbaliuk was awarded the honorary title “Honored Doctor of Ukraine”.

He is a full member of the Association of Hepatology Surgeons of the CIS Countries, a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of Doctors on Minimally Invasive, Endoscopic and Laser Technologies, the European Pancreatic Club and the International Association of Pancreatology, presidium member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine.

From 1998 to 2000 took internship in surgery on the basis of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2002 took a course of efferent therapy in the Center for Haemocorrection in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Since 2005 V. Uvarov worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University.

Since 2007 he is a full member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Ozone Therapy Doctors and Manufacturers of Ozone Therapy Equipment.

In 2015 V. Uvarov defended a PhD thesis titled “Prophylaxis and Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis Complications”. V.Uvarov is the author of 26 printed works and 7 patents for inventions.

His duties at the Department include organizing the work of the efferent therapy unit, implementation of the methodology of detoxication and hepatotrophic therapy. V. Uvarov’s active treatment and diagnostic work is conducted on the base of the City Clinical Hospital No. 10, where he constantly improves his practical skills and theoretical knowledge. In 1994 graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 1996 to 1998 did an internship in surgery on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

From 1994 to 2014 worked as a senior research technician at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 within Bogomolets National Medical University.

Yu. Shvets is a highly qualified specialist who performs elective and urgent surgeries, has a good command of laparoscopic methods of surgical interventions, constantly improves his practical skills and advances his theoretical knowledge.

Since September 2014 he was appointed an Assistant Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

In 2015 Yu. Shvets defended a PhD thesis on the topic “Diagnostics and Correction of Bile Outflow Disorders in Patients with Chronic Pancreatitis” under the supervision of Professor I. Kovalska of the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

In June 2015 he received the scientific degree of a PhD in Medicine.

procukAnatolii Protsiuk, Assistant Professor, MD PhD

In 1971 graduated from Ternopil Medical Institute.

In September 1985 A. Protsiuk was appointed as a senior assistant of the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute.

In 1989 he won the competition to become an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1, the position which he still occupies. In 1990 defended a thesis to be awarded the academic title of MD PhD. A.Protsuik is a skilled and scrupulous faculty member whose skills building sessions with students are always organized at a high methodological level. AProtsiuk is the author of 98 scientific papers, 21 of which are on the topic of improvement of teaching general surgery. He has 7 author’s certificates for invention and 22 innovation propositions.

He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

fedorukVolodymyr Fedoruk, Assistant Professor

Graduated from the Medical Faculty of Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1990. From 1990 to 1991 did an internship on surgery at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10. From 1992 to 1994 worked as a senior assistant of the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

Has held the position of an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No.1 at Bogomolets National Medical University since 1994. V.Fedoruk is a highly skilled physician holding the highest qualification grade in surgery, able to solve complex clinical issues. He is known for his ability to establish psychological contact with patients, his empathy and disciplined approach. He is conscientious in performing his duties, is respected by his colleagues and students, and takes active part in the Department’s scientific and teaching activities.

To improve his professional skills, V. Fedoruk participated in the World Congress of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in Rio-de-Janeiro (Brazil, 2006), Munich (Germany, 2007) and Stockholm (Sweden, 2010), and regularly participates in local and international congresses and conferences on plastic surgery.

He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine.

In 2006 graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University with distinction.

From 2006 to 2011 worked as a senior assistant at the Department of Oncology of Bogomolets National Medical University. The spheres of her scientific and clinical interest were diagnostics and treatment of patients with gynecologic oncological pathology.

From 2006 to 2009, Ye. Kozachuk did an internship in surgery on the basis of the Department of General Surgery No. 2 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

From September 2011 to 2014 she worked as a senior assistant of the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

Since September 2014 appointed an Assistant Professor of the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

In 2012, her PhD thesis topic was approved: “Assessment of the Efficiency of Cryosurgical Method in the Comprehensive Treatment of Patients with Focal Liver Pathology” (experimental clinical research). The scientific advisor of the thesis is the Chairman of the Department of General Surgery No. 1, Professor O. Dronov. In November 2019 she successfully passed the evaluation.

Ye. Kozachuk is a co-author of 7 patents of Ukraine for utility model and 26 printed scientific works.

Ye. Kozachuk is a fluent English speaker; she teaches foreign students in English, is responsible for preparing students for OSCE-1. Since 2018 she has been the academic secretary of the Academic Council of Medical Faculty No. 2. Ye. Kozachuk is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine.

 

 

 

 

Petro Bakunets, MD PhD, Assistant Professor

In 2006 graduated from Medical Faculty No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 2006 to 2009 P. Bakunets did an internship in surgery on the basis of the Department of General Surgery of Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 2009 to 2011 he did a clinical residency program in surgery at Bogomolets National Medical University.

Since 2011 P. Bakunets has worked as a surgeon in the V.S. Zemskov Kyiv Center for Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Ducts and Pancreas.

From 2011 to 2015 he studied for his PhD at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University.

Since 2014, he has been a junior research associate at the Department of Gynecological Surgery of the State Institution “The Academician O.M. Lukianova Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”.

In 2005 P. Bakunets took a specialization course on gynecological oncology.

In 2016 he defended his PhD thesis entitled “Evaluation of Efficiency of the Methods of Surgical Treatment of Pancreatic Tumors with Great Vessel Invasion”.

He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine and a member of the Association of Hepatology Surgeons of the CIS Countries.

In 2005 D. Liubenko finished his internship in surgery, since 2005 has worked as a surgeon at the Center for Surgery of the Liver, Pancreas and Bile Ducts at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

Since 2006 he performs elective and urgent laparoscopic surgeries.

Since 2009 works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery No. 1.

Roman Dobush, Assistant Professor

In 2003 graduated from of Bogomolets National Medical University majoring in Medical Care. From 2003 to 2004 he did an internship on the basis of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10.

From 2017 to 2019 R. Dobush took a part-time post-graduate study for his PhD at the Department of General Surgery No. 1 of Bogomolets National Medical University. His PhD thesis topic was “Surgical Treatment of Patients with Tumorous Damages of the Pancreas Using Cryotechnologies”. R. Dobush is the author of 33 publications, including 19 articles (2 of which are in the English-language periodicals), 14 patents for utility models.
