The circle of the Department of Clinical and Laboratory Immunology, Allergology and Medical Genetics was established at the Department in 1997.

The pupils of the group were: assistant of our department, Ph.D. Udovenko N.S., Ph.D., Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of Bogomolets NMU Maltsev D.V. – author of the monograph “Human Immunodeficiency Diseases”, co-author of the textbook on clinical immunology and allergology, Kharazi O. – Doctor of Medicine. Ph.D., employee of the Institute of Immunology in Japan (under the leadership of Nobel Prize winner Sushimi Tanagawa), Lukash M.F.  Allergist, Pechersk District Children’s Polyclinic.

More than 130 students have attended the club over the past 5 years.

The main areas of work of the student club:

• Study of immune disorders in the case of chronic spontaneous urticaria.
• Participation in the study of polymorphism of cytokine and toll-like receptor genes in allergic rhinitis.
• Study of the behavior of people of different ages with chronic urticaria.
• Literature review and research planning on “Epigenetic regulation of immune cell phenotype”.
• Study of the features of the course of atopic and pseudoatopic reactions in selective IgE deficiency.

In recent years, students of the club have won prizes at the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in Clinical Immunology and Allergology and Medical Genetics.

Medical genetics and immunology are the mainstream of modern science and a necessary component for both the practitioner and future scientists. Genetic factors and the molecular basis for the development of diseases make up the bulk of any pathology, so there is a medical genetics club at the department, the head of the group is Associate Professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, PhD Lyudmila Alexandrovna Turova.

We are very pleased to acquaint you with our talented students who took part from the Department of Clinical and Laboratory Immunology, Allergology and Medical Genetics and won prizes in international competitions, Olympiads and grants:

1. Perediriy O.O. – winner and scholar of the program “TOMORROW. UA” 2018 – 5th year student;
2. Borokhovych O.G. – winner and scholarship holder of the program ”TOMORROW. UA” 2020, 4th year student;
3. Obushko Orysia, Obushko Uliana – winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties in the 2022-2023 academic year – 5th year students.
4. Winners of international scientific and practical conferences – Borokhovych O.G. – 1st place in 2021 and 2022, Bogdan Pasichnyk – 1st place in 2023 – 3rd year student, Orysia Obushko, Ulyana Obushko – 2nd place in 2023:

Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Childhood Diseases” with the report “Clinical Masks of Krabbe Disease”, headed by Ph.D. Turova L.O.,
6. Kyba Mykola – II place. Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Childhood Diseases” with the report “Genetics and Epigenetics of Neurogenetic Syndromes”, headed by Ph.D. Turova L.O.
7. Borokhovych O.G. – Scholar of the Grand Scholarship Program “TOMORROW. UA” under the guidance of Turova L.O. with the scientific work “Genetic aspects of the development of intrauterine growth retardation of the fetus against the background of microelnmentosis”. The result is a victory.

Cooperation and joint meetings of the department were held with the departments of pediatrics No. 2, ophthalmology, bioorganic and biological chemistry and pathophysiology of Bogomolets National Medical University.
