The person who is responsible for the treatment and diagnostic work of the department is an assistant, candidate of medical sciences Svidro Olena Viktorivna.
Every year, the number of patients who have come to the department for specialized help is more than 6,250 persons; every third of them have been successfully treated (about 2,000 patients).
The staff of the department: Honored Doctor of Ukraine – 1, with the highest medical category – 7 employees, with the I category – 4 employees, with the II category – 3 employees, with profile specialization – 9 employees.
The department’s arsenal of modern allergy diagnosis methods include: skin prick tests with a wide range of pollen, household and food allergens, patch tests to detect contact allergies to chemicals. The department has modern laboratory equipment for carrying out genetic research – the PCR laboratory, where modern DNA diagnostics are carried out, as well as microscopic studies and immunoenzymatic analysis. Specialists of the department regularly participate in international seminars and training of modern methods of molecular allergy diagnostics and immunotherapy of many primary immunodeficiencies. The spectrum of pathologies includes pollinosis, allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, contact and atopic dermatitis, recurrent angioedema, primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases requiring immunotherapy, chronic fatigue syndrome, immune-dependent pathology of internal organs, in particular sarcoidosis, eosinophilic syndromes
At the center of molecular allergology as part of the Divero medical center and the AirDOC clinic, students and listeners of the primary specialization course and participants of the thematic improvement in allergology get acquainted with the principles of modern allergological practice and skills in work in specialized laboratory with a full range of allergological research, including multi-component laboratory allergic tests, and they also gain experience in interpreting research results.
On average, up to 250 people are examined per year. For 102 patients from among those examined in 2023, sublingual and injection allergy-specific immunotherapy is carried out.
