Every year, the number of patients who came to the department for help for the first time is on average 6250 people, every third of them was treated (about 2000 patients).
The staff of the department: Honored Doctor of Ukraine – 1, with the highest medical category – 7 employees, with the I category – 4 employees, with the II category – 3 employees, with specialized specialization – 9 employees.
The arsenal of modern methods of allergy diagnostics of the department includes skin pric tests with a wide range of pollen, household and food allergens, Patch tests for detecting contact allergies to chemicals. The department has modern laboratory equipment for genetic research – a PCR laboratory, where modern DNA diagnostics is carried out, as well as microscopic studies, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Specialists of the department participate in international seminars and trainings on the use of modern methods of molecular allergy diagnostics and immunotherapy, carry out diagnostics and immunotherapy of many primary immunodeficiencies using modern methods of immunological research. The spectrum of pathologies includes hay fever, allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, contact and atopic dermatitis, recurrent angioedema, primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases requiring immunotherapy, chronic fatigue syndrome, immune-dependent pathology of internal organs, in particular sarcoidosis, eosinophilic syndromes.
On the basis of modern allergological clinics: the Center for Molecular Allergology as part of the Divero Medical Center and the AirDOC clinic, students and cadets of specialization and thematic improvement cycles in allergology get acquainted with the principles of modern allergological practice and the work of a specialized laboratory with a full range of allergy studies, including multicomponent laboratory allergy tests, as well as gain experience in interpreting the results of research.
On average, up to 250 people are examined per year. For 102 patients surveyed in 2024, sublingual and injectable allergo-specific immunotherapy is being carried out.
