Allergology

Specialization Cycles

Thematic Improvement Cycles

Internship cycle

The basis for the internship is determined by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1753 dated 18.08.2021:

1. A doctor who has not been certified for a qualification category in a timely manner, or who has been denied certification for the assignment or confirmation of a qualification category, may not engage in medical practice in this specialty without first completing an internship.
2. Internship of doctors is carried out in institutions of postgraduate education or institutes (faculties) of postgraduate education of higher education institutions.
3. Referral of doctors for internship is carried out by the health care institution in which the doctor works, after agreement with the institution of postgraduate education or the institute (faculty) of postgraduate education of the higher education institution, the internship period, which is determined in each case separately and can be from one to six months.
4. In order to determine the term of the internship, no later than 14 calendar days before the internship, the institution of postgraduate education or the institute (faculty) of postgraduate education of the higher education institution conducts testing of doctors who are sent for internship.

The decision on the term of the doctor’s internship is made by the commission, which is created in postgraduate education institutions or institutes (faculties) of postgraduate education of higher education institutions (the commission must be at least 3 people), based on the results of testing.

5. For the period of the internship, the doctor is enrolled by the health care institution as a trainee doctor.

The internship time is counted towards the work experience in the specialty.

6. Doctors for the period of internship are paid a salary in the amount of the official salary of a doctor-intern. Doctors from other settlements are provided with a dormitory, the cost of travel to the place of internship and back is paid, the daily allowance for the time spent on the road is at the expense of the health care institution that enrolled him to the position of a trainee doctor.
7. Doctors, who have not worked for more than three years in a specific medical specialty and wish to resume medical practice, take specialization courses in institutions of postgraduate education or institutes (faculties) of higher education institutions according to the procedure determined by the Regulation on postgraduate training of doctors (pharmacists), approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine dated July 22, 1993 No. 166, registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on August 27, 1993 under No. 113.
8. Upon completion of an internship or specialization courses, an institution of higher medical or postgraduate education issues a certificate or certificate of completion of an internship or specialization courses, which is the basis for the resumption of medical practice in a specific medical specialty.
