Information on the Ukrainian-language Student Scientific Society

The aim of our student scientific society is to engage students in discussing актуальні (pressing) problems of modern medicine, teach them how to use evidence-based information sources, differentiate between clinically similar diseases, and get as close as possible to real clinical practice.

During meetings, training sessions are held on the use of ultrasound in the practice of an internal medicine physician; students are taught ECG recording and data interpretation. Students also have the opportunity to gain practical experience in healthcare institutions (Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 18, the University Clinic, and the “Innovation” Oncology Clinic).

Other members of the department are actively involved in the society’s activities: they present interesting clinical cases, teach correct analysis of additional investigation results, and help determine tactical clinical decisions according to treatment algorithms. The student scientific society at our department is an excellent opportunity for motivated students to build a foundation for writing scientific papers and publishing them in professional journals.

Main Areas of Activity of the Society

  • Discussion of the most relevant issues in internal medicine
  • Preparation of reports and presentations by the supervisor and society members
  • Patient supervision, development of practical skills, and case history analysis
  • Interpretation of laboratory and instrumental investigation results
  • Discussion of complex clinical cases

Meetings are held both in person and online, allowing all interested students to participate.

Venue: Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 18,
17 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, Kyiv

Meeting frequency: 1–2 times per month
