In 1977 he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Comparative study of molecular and biological properties of Coxsackie viruses and their selected variants”.

Scientific supervisor of 25 PhD theses, scientific consultant of 10 doctoral theses. Scientific interests – enterovirology, ecology of microorganisms, human microbiome.

Co-author of 3 clinical protocols, standards, guidelines, 6 fact sheets, 13 methodological recommendations that have been implemented in clinical practice.

Author and co-author of 541 scientific works, including 9 books, 43 textbooks, 57 inventions and patents, 6 educational qualifications, 12 study programs.

Head of the NTGI (group of scientific and technical experts on immunoprophylaxis of Ukraine; member of the Council on Biosafety at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, member of the expert council of DACU of Ukraine.

Member of the Presidium of two microbiological scientific societies of Ukraine (Microbiologists, epidemiologists and parasitologists named after DK Zabolotny and SM Vinogradsky Microbiologists).

 

He was awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd and 2nd Degrees, diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, numerous medals and honors.

 

Voitsekhovskyi Valerii Gryhorovych

Doctor of Medical SciencesProfessor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Bogomolets National Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In 1973 he graduated with honors from the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute.

Studied at the graduate school of the Bogomolets National Medical University, (1974-1977).

In 1982 he defended his dissertation for obtaining a scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences for a theme: “Research of development of conditionally pathogenic spore-forming bacteria”. In 2004 he defended his dissertation for a doctor of medical sciences degree on the topic “Cell aggregation in the ontogeny of spore-forming microorganisms”.

Under the leadership ofVoitsekhovskyiV. G. 3 PhD theses have been prepared and defended.

The field of research is related to the study of mechanisms of development and differentiation of microorganisms, patterns of spore formation, autoinducers of development, processes of intercellular interaction, chemical communication in bacteria and systems that regulate the expression of genes responsible for virulence factors, the role of cellular bioregulation microorganisms.

He is the author of 305 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 6 textbooks, 5 manuals, 10 copyright certificates, 3 domestic patents, 11 foreign patents, 22 methodological instructions and developments, 5 methodological recommendations, more than 10 educational programs.

Salata Olga Viacheslavivna.

Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Bogomolets National Medical University. In 1973 she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sanitary and Hygiene at the Kyiv Medical Institute. Specialty – medical, doctor.

In 1990, she defended her doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences for a theme: “Hygienic justification of effective natural and artificial sorbents for the release of drinking and waste water from enteroviruses and enterobacteria”.

Scientific interests are focused on the normalization of biological (microbiological) factors in the environment and the establishment of patterns of migration of enteroviruses in water and soil.

Salata O.V. has 140 scientific works, an author’s certificate for the invention. She is the co-author of 8 textbooks, 30 methodological recommendations, 9 educational programs for students of medical, dental, pharmaceutical and medical-psychological faculties.

Scientific and creative achievements were marked by the Nikomed-Ukraine scholarship (following the results of the 1999-2000 academic year for outstanding achievements in pedagogical and scientific work), published in the book “Women – Scientists of Kiev” (2003). She was awarded honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science (2005) and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2000, 2005, 2010), gratitude of the Kyiv Mayor (2005), honorary diploma of the Academic Council of NMU named after O.O. Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. Graduated from the medico-prophylactic faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2002. In 2006 proved a candidate’s dissertation for a theme “The surface components of Coxsackie B viruses and their bentonite variants.”.

Scientific interests: enteroviruses, dysbiosis.

Author of 3 newsletters.

Poniatovskyi Vadym Anatoliyovych.

Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Candidate of Medical Sciences. He graduated from the BogomoletsNational Medical University in 2009. From 2010 to 2013 he studied in graduate school at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Bogomolets NMU.  Dissertation on a theme:  “Enteroviruses in sewage of Kyiv city: species composition and biological properties”. In 2019 he completed a scientific internship at the National Institute of Public Health – NIH (Department of Parasitology and Vector-Borne Diseases) (Poland, Warsaw).

Main scientific interests:

  • Combating antibiotic resistance – search for producers of new classes of antibiotics, use of bacteriophages for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes.
  • The role of the simplest in the spread of viral and bacterial infections.

Author and co-author of 41 scientific works, including 1 monograph and 2 textbooks.

Associate Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. Graduated from the sanitary-hygienic faculty of the Bogomolets NMU in 1975. In 1989 proved a candidate’s dissertation for a theme «Epidemiology features of flu in Ukraine». An associate professor of the department since 1996.

Scientific interests: Virology, Pedagogy.

Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor. He graduated from the Kiev Medical Institute in 1989 with a degree in medical treatment. He studied in graduate school in 1989-1991. Topic of the PhD thesis “Immunomodulatory properties of polio vaccine strains”.

Scientific interests: Virology.

There are 41 publications, including 3 textbooks and 10 curricula.

In 2015, she defended a candidate’s dissertation on theme:”The Role of Genetic Propensity and Infectious Agents in the Development of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Miners”
