Graduated from the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine.

Studied at the postgraduate course at the Department of Microbiology of KMI in 1995-1997. At the end of postgraduate course he defended his candidate`s dissertation.

In 1977 he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Comparative study of molecular and biological properties of Coxsackie viruses and their selected variants”.

Scientific supervisor of 25 PhD theses, scientific consultant of 10 doctoral theses. Scientific interests – enterovirology, ecology of microorganisms, human microbiome.

Co-author of 3 clinical protocols, standards, guidelines, 6 fact sheets, 13 methodological recommendations that have been implemented in clinical practice.

Author and co-author of 541 scientific works, including 9 books, 43 textbooks, 57 inventions and patents, 6 educational qualifications, 12 study programs.

Head of the NTGI (group of scientific and technical experts on immunoprophylaxis of Ukraine; member of the Council on Biosafety at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, member of the expert council of DACU of Ukraine.

Member of the Presidium of two microbiological scientific societies of Ukraine (Microbiologists, epidemiologists and parasitologists named after DK Zabolotny and SM Vinogradsky Microbiologists).

 

He was awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd and 2nd Degrees, diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, numerous medals and honors.

 

Voitsekhovskyi Valerii Gryhorovych

Doctor of Medical SciencesProfessor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Bogomolets National Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In 1973 he graduated with honors from the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute.

Studied at the graduate school of the Bogomolets National Medical University, (1974-1977).

In 1982 he defended his dissertation for obtaining a scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences for a theme: “Research of development of conditionally pathogenic spore-forming bacteria”. In 2004 he defended his dissertation for a doctor of medical sciences degree on the topic “Cell aggregation in the ontogeny of spore-forming microorganisms”.

Under the leadership ofVoitsekhovskyiV. G. 3 PhD theses have been prepared and defended.

The field of research is related to the study of mechanisms of development and differentiation of microorganisms, patterns of spore formation, autoinducers of development, processes of intercellular interaction, chemical communication in bacteria and systems that regulate the expression of genes responsible for virulence factors, the role of cellular bioregulation microorganisms.

He is the author of 305 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 6 textbooks, 5 manuals, 10 copyright certificates, 3 domestic patents, 11 foreign patents, 22 methodological instructions and developments, 5 methodological recommendations, more than 10 educational programs.

Salata Olga Viacheslavivna.

Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Bogomolets National Medical University. In 1973 she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sanitary and Hygiene at the Kyiv Medical Institute. Specialty – medical, doctor.

In 1990, she defended her doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences for a theme: “Hygienic justification of effective natural and artificial sorbents for the release of drinking and waste water from enteroviruses and enterobacteria”.

Scientific interests are focused on the normalization of biological (microbiological) factors in the environment and the establishment of patterns of migration of enteroviruses in water and soil.

Salata O.V. has 140 scientific works, an author’s certificate for the invention. She is the co-author of 8 textbooks, 30 methodological recommendations, 9 educational programs for students of medical, dental, pharmaceutical and medical-psychological faculties.

Scientific and creative achievements were marked by the Nikomed-Ukraine scholarship (following the results of the 1999-2000 academic year for outstanding achievements in pedagogical and scientific work), published in the book “Women – Scientists of Kiev” (2003). She was awarded honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science (2005) and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2000, 2005, 2010), gratitude of the Kyiv Mayor (2005), honorary diploma of the Academic Council of NMU named after O.O. Associate Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. Graduated from the medico-prophylactic faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2002. In 2006 proved a candidate’s dissertation for a theme “The surface components of Coxsackie B viruses and their bentonite variants.”.

Scientific interests: enteroviruses, dysbiosis.

Author of 3 newsletters.

Poniatovskyi Vadym Anatoliyovych.

Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Candidate of Medical Sciences. He graduated from the BogomoletsNational Medical University in 2009. From 2010 to 2013 he studied in graduate school at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Bogomolets NMU.  Dissertation on a theme:  “Enteroviruses in sewage of Kyiv city: species composition and biological properties”. In 2019 he completed a scientific internship at the National Institute of Public Health – NIH (Department of Parasitology and Vector-Borne Diseases) (Poland, Warsaw).

Main scientific interests:

  • Combating antibiotic resistance – search for producers of new classes of antibiotics, use of bacteriophages for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes.
  • The role of the simplest in the spread of viral and bacterial infections.

Author and co-author of 41 scientific works, including 1 monograph and 2 textbooks.

Lipatnikova Klavdiia Ivanivna.

Associate Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. Graduated from the sanitary-hygienic faculty of the Bogomolets NMU in 1975. In 1989 proved a candidate’s dissertation for a theme «Epidemiology features of flu in Ukraine». An associate professor of the department since 1996.

Scientific interests: Virology, Pedagogy.

Shylov Mykhailo Vitaliyovych.

Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor. He graduated from the Kiev Medical Institute in 1989 with a degree in medical treatment. He studied in graduate school in 1989-1991. Topic of the PhD thesis “Immunomodulatory properties of polio vaccine strains”.

Scientific interests: Virology.

There are 41 publications, including 3 textbooks and 10 curricula.

Associate Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. In 1987 she graduated from Arkhangelsk State Medical academy. From 2010 to 2013 she studied in graduate school. In 1994 she defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme: «Physiological features of immunological reactivity of man in the north».

Scientific interests: microbiology, immunology.

He graduated from Lugansk State Medical University in 2005. 2006-2009 – he studied in graduate school of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology o fLuhansk State Medical University.  In 2009 he defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme: “Effect of peptidoglycans, teichoicacids and bacterial lipopolysaccharides on metabolic activity and apoptosis of neutrophilsand T-lymphocytesubpopulations in vitro”.

Scientific interests – immunos uppressive properties of microorganisms; the immune and metabolic status of patients with in factious diseases;

Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor. In 1998 she graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2005-2008 She studied in graduate school at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Bogomolets NMU. In 2011 she defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme: “Genotypic and Phenotypic Signs of Virulence of ESNO Viruses”,specialty 03.00.06 – Virology, In 2019, she completed an internship – “New and innovative teaching methods in medicine”, organized by the Medical University of Lublin.

In 2015, she defended a candidate’s dissertation on theme:”The Role of Genetic Propensity and Infectious Agents in the Development of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Miners”

Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor.In 1979 she graduated from the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute, Faculty of Hygiene. A candidate’s dissertation for a theme: “Bacterial-rotavirus relationships and some approaches to the development of therapeutic and prophylactic antiviral drug” by specialty 03.00.07 – Microbiology; 03.00.06 – Virology for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

Melnyk Valentyna Volodymyrivna.

Associate Professor of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. Graduated from the medical faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical Universityin 2002.Overseasinternship “TrendsintheEducationSystemintheChangingInformationSocietyofEurope” in 2019. Internship in the specialty “Virology” at the Department of Virology of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Educationin 2019. In 2015, she defended her PhD for a theme: “Improvement of the public health system personnel by specialists in microbiological profile in the conditions of reformation” and obtained a PhD in medicine. 2. Scientific interests: History of creation and development of scientific microbiological schools. Improving the teaching of microbiology, virology and immunology to international students.

Svizhak Vitaliy Yosyfovych. Assistant of the department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology. He graduated in 2001 from the Second Medical Faculty of Bukovyna State Medical University.

Scientific interests: microbiology, immunology.

Svizhak Veronika Konstiantynivna. Assistant of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Ph.D. Graduated from Bukovyna State Medical University in 2003. From 2009 to 2018 she was assistant at BSMU department. In 2017, she completed her postgraduate studies in microbiology. In 2018, she defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme: on “Antimicrobial Activity and Prospects for the Use of New 5-Carbofunctionalized Imidazoles in Medicine.”

Scientific interests: microbiology, chemotherapy.

An assistant of the department of microbiology, virology and immunology. She graduated from the medical faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2002. She is an assistant of the department since 2002. In 2019 she defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme: «The value of enterovirus infection in the development of acute cerebral circulation disorders».

Scientific interests: The value of enterovirus infection in the development of acute disorders of cerebral circulation. Improving the teaching of microbiology, virology and immunology to international students.

In 2019, she defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme “Metabolic polarization of rat microglial cells under conditions of C6 glioma growth and its correction with the toll-like receptor 3 agonist” and earned a PhD in biological sciences.

Nastenko Volodymyr Borysovych, assistant of the department. Graduated in 2013 from Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University. Candidate’s dissertation theme: “Antimicrobial properties of Quaternary salts of aryloxyethoxydialkyl ammonium under experimental conditions”

Scientific interests: the problem of antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial substances, ecology of microorganisms, virology.

Ivanchenko Dmytrii Anatoliyovych. Assistant of the department. In 2012 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Biology at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in Microbiology and Virology and obtained the qualification of a microbiologist, research associate (biology), a teacher of a higher education institution. In 2010-2012 he performed scientific work at the ZabolotnyiInstitute of Microbiology and Virology at the Department of Virus Reproduction on “Antiviral and apoptotic stimulating effect of tricyclic aglycones and synthetic nucleoside analogues on WEB-infected cells”. Since June 2017 he has been carrying out scientific work for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy of Biological Sciences on the topic: “Biological activity of pigment of prodigiosin Serratia marcescens”. 2. Romanchyshina Anastasiia Pavlivna, postgraduate student of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical Universityin 2015. In 2016, she completed her internship in the specialty “Microbiology, Virology”. He is currently studying for a postgraduate degree in Virology. Dissertation topic: “Interaction of enteroviruses and bacteriophages with acanthamebas as ecological phenomenon”

Scientific interests: study of free-living amoebae and features of their interaction with other microorganisms (viruses and bacteria).

Oleksienko Ivan Prokopovych. A senior teacher of the department of microbiology, immunology and virology. Graduated from the biological faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1965. In 1972 he defended a candidate’s dissertation for a theme «Ultra structure of synopsis and effect of organ phosphorus connections on the transmission of nervous impulse». He has been working at the department since 1972. He is accountable for functioning of laboratory electronic microscopy.
