Pelo Ihor Mykhaylovych

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology.

Graduated with honors from the Sanitary and Hygiene Faculty of the Ukrainian State Medical University named after Acad. O.O. Bogomolets in 1993.

Pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Hygiene Propedeutics, Military and Radiation Hygiene of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University from December 1, 1993 to November 30, 1996.

In 1999, he defended his dissertation for the Candidate of Medical Sciences degree (PhD) on the topic «Hygienic assessment of the combined influence of environmental factors on the dynamics of thyroid diseases occurrence and course among the population of Ukraine».

In 2014, he defended his dissertation for the Doctor of Medical Sciences degree (MD) on the topic «Justification of safe application regulations for pesticides and their mixtures in integrated vegetable crop protection systems as a priority hygienic issue».

Holds the highest medical category in the specialty «General Hygiene».

Research Interests

Public health, hygiene and toxicology of pesticides, medical-sanitary regulation of chemical plant protection products, occupational safety.

He is the author and co-author of 45 scientific works, including: 18 articles, 27 theses.

Research interests – pesticide hygiene, pesticide toxicology, monitoring of harmful and dangerous environmental factors, risk assessment and development of measures to prevent the impact on the human body of harmful and dangerous environmental factors, problems of food hygiene and the environment.

Graduated from the faculty of sanitary and hygiene of the Kiev medical institute in 1985.PhD (since 1999).Associate Professor (since 2011).

Defended PhD thesis: “Hygienic assessment of the combined influence of natural and anthropogenic environmental factors on flow diseases of blood circulatory system”

Scientific interests: Hygiene of plant protection products.

Author of 53 scientific papers, co-author of a number of topics in 5 textbooks and manuals.
