Infectious diseases of the oral mucosa encompass a broad group of lesions caused by viruses, bacteria, spirochetes, cocci, fungi, and protozoa. Their relevance to dentistry lies in the fact that initial symptoms of infectious diseases often appear on the oral mucosa. Therefore, a dentist is usually the first healthcare professional to diagnose such infectious diseases. ‘Modern Approaches to Diagnosis, Treatment, Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Associated Pathology in Dental Practice’ includes discussion on the primary problems of infectious lesions of the oral cavity, exploring the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations of infectious diseases on the oral mucosa; methods of their treatment and prevention. It covers diagnostic approaches to viral, bacterial, and fungal lesions of the oral and lip mucosa, differentiating them from other diseases, modern treatment approaches, and necessary preventive measures. Emphasis is placed on the crucial role of the dentist in timely detection of infectious diseases based on their manifestations in the oral cavity, as well as developing a sense of professional responsibility for timely diagnosis, adherence to preventive measures, and correctness of treatment.

Development of Leadership Competencies in Physicians

In the context of new challenges, skills in effective communication, teamwork, and organization of work and personal space gain new importance. These and other competencies expand professional opportunities, helping to fully realize a physician’s talent. The thematic training cycle “Development of Leadership Competencies in Physicians” combines theoretical foundations of leadership with practical skills in communication, strategic planning, informed decision-making, and motivation for personal development.

Clinical Pharmacology in Medical Practice

It discusses the critical importance of the effective and safe use of medications in contemporary times. Clinical pharmacology is examined through three main aspects: education, research, and healthcare. The course “Clinical Pharmacology in Medical Practice” includes the study of general issues in clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, major directions in personalized medicine based on pharmacogenetics achievements, clinical pharmacology of antihypertensive and antimicrobial agents, and drugs affecting the central nervous system.

Modern Problems of Clinical Allergology, Immunology, Infectology, Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy

In the face of modern challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for immunoprophylaxis, and the increasing prevalence of allergies in the population, there is an urgent need for contemporary information in these areas. These competencies will expand professional opportunities and assist in accurately assessing the immune status of patients, identifying manifestations of allergic diseases, and understanding the current possibilities in immuno- and allergo-diagnostics and specific immunotherapy.

Modern Standards of Emergency Assistance in Medical Practice

This course focuses on personalized medicine as a leading trend in healthcare and pharmacology, integrating latest biotechnological approaches in disease pathogenesis, molecular diagnostics, and therapy. It emphasizes treating patients rather than just diseases, covering screening, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention. Designed for various medical specialists, it combines theory with practical skills in endocrinology, oncology, cardiology, psychology, pharmacotherapy, etc. The course uniquely includes modern aspects of personalized medical care in cancer, molecular-genetic profiling, clinical pharmacogenetics, and personalized approaches in allergy treatment, with a focus on non-infectious disease management in Ukraine.

 Modern Approaches to Treatment and Diagnosis of Endocrine Pathologies in Women

It addresses the increased relevance of women’s health issues, especially endocrine pathologies, in the context of the war in Ukraine and its impact on women’s roles in society. The course aims to update medical professionals (endocrinologists, therapists, primary care physicians) on modern diagnostic and treatment approaches for endocrine pathologies in women, including during pregnancy, reproductive age, and menopause, with special attention to the most common oncological diseases in women, considering ethical and pharmacological aspects during wartime.

Rational Antimicrobial Therapy and Administration of Antimicrobial Drugs

The course addresses the increasing implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASP) in Ukrainian healthcare facilities. It aims to optimize antibiotic use for effective infection treatment, prevent patient harm from inappropriate antibiotic use, and combat antimicrobial resistance. The course covers clinical pharmacology of main antimicrobial drug groups, ASP implementation strategies in healthcare institutions, key ASP interventions, and monitoring of implementation indicators.

Modern Screening Programs for the Most Common Cancers in Men and Women

It discusses the increasing cancer incidence in Ukraine and worldwide, emphasizing the high rate of late diagnoses. The course covers early diagnosis and screening of common cancers, such as colorectal, breast, lung, skin and melanoma, cervical, thyroid, and prostate cancers. It focuses on risk group identification, diagnostic methods, and strategic directions in modern cancer therapy, aimed at family doctors, surgeons, therapists, and oncologists.

Interactive Digital Technologies and Effective Communication in Medical Education

This course is essential for modern medicine, focusing on high-tech solutions for improved diagnostics, treatment, and patient communication. It equips future medical professionals with skills in digital technologies and effective communication with patients and colleagues, enhancing the quality of medical care and providing a competitive edge in the job market. Topics include an overview of digital technologies in medicine, their use in diagnostics and treatment, effective medical communication, and ethical aspects of digital technology in healthcare.

 Administration of Antimicrobial Drugs

Academic English for Scientists, Doctors, and Educators

is designed for Ukrainian academic and educational professionals to enhance their English language skills. It focuses on using English effectively in academic contexts, including writing scientific papers, participating in international conferences, and communicating with international colleagues. The curriculum includes academic writing basics, vocabulary expansion, grammatical and stylistic aspects of academic English, and developing effective academic communication skills. A key feature is the methodology for writing and revising English scientific texts for international publications.

Teaching foreign language in Non-Linguistic Higher Education Institutions

It focuses on enhancing the communicative competence of faculty, especially in medical institutions. It serves as an alternative to European certified courses like TESOL/CELTA, aiming to systematize and correct the necessary teaching skills for educators.  Medical Assistance to Patients in Acute Stress and Prevention of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

It addresses the emotional upheavals caused by war-related events such as bombings, loss of home, sieges, and participation in combat. These experiences can lead to increased anxiety, depression, and the development of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The course covers the diagnosis of PTSD, psychotherapy, and personalized psychopharmacotherapy based on the pharmacogenetics of drugs affecting the central nervous system, highlighting the importance of timely intervention to prevent disease progression, domestic violence, and increased suicidality.
