Teaching and Academic Affairs

The main goal of the Academic Center for Continuous Professional Education is to improve the professional competencies of academic staff in medical education institutions, as well as doctors, pharmacists, and other specialists. This center aims to implement the state policy regarding the development of medical education and continuous professional growth of experts.

Bringing together experts from various fields in one structural unit allows for the organization of relevant multidisciplinary cycles to comprehensively address the specific scientific, practical, clinical, and psychological issues. It also provides participants with advanced training cycles and qualification improvement courses to build in-depth knowledge and practical skills.

The main educational and academic functions of the Center include:

  1. Implementation of multi-level postgraduate training programs for academic and pteaching staff, doctors, pharmacists, and other professionals.
  2. Utilization of innovative teaching technologies and the latest developments in the field of education.
  3. Development of scientific, academic, and informational materials for professionals in medical education, trainees, and students.
  4. Ensuring continuous professional development for doctors who combine medical practice with scientific and teaching activities in medical educational institutions.
  5. Training doctoral (Ph.D.) candidates.
  6. Consultative and academic support and practical assistance to the University’s staff and its structural units on issues related to organizing and improving the quality of education.
  7. Ensuring informational and academic support for the educational process.
  8. Establishing communication with medical educational institutions to facilitate the continuous professional development of doctors and enhance the professional competencies of academic and pedagogical staff.

The Center offers advanced qualification courses on various topics( in Ukrainian mostly):

  1. Two-week thematic cycles (78 hours) covering the following themes:

  • “Clinical Pharmacology in Medical Practice”
  • “Modern Standards of Emergency Care in Medical Practice”
  • “Medical-Psychological Aspects of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Process”
  • “Development of Leadership Competencies for Doctors”
  • “Contemporary Issues in Clinical Allergology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases; Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy”
  • “Rational Antimicrobial Therapy and Administration of Antimicrobial Agents”
  • “Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare Facilities”
  • “Modern Approaches to Quality Management in Healthcare”
  • “Modern Programs for Screening, Early Diagnosis, and Treatment of the Most Common Oncological Diseases in Men and Women”
  • “Relevant Aspects of Multifactorial Pathology in Medical Practice”
  • “Administration of Antimicrobial Agents”
  • “Modern Approaches to the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Endocrine Disorders (Thyroid and Diabetes)”
  • “Modern Approaches to Quality Management in Healthcare”
  • “Medical Assistance to Patients in Acute Stress and the Prevention of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder”
  • “Modern Approaches to the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Related Pathology in Dental Practice”
  • “Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare Facilities”
  • “Medical-Psychological Aspects of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Process”

2. Four-week programs (150 hours) for teaching and academic staff at medical educational institutions covering the following topics:

  • “Psychological and Pedagogical Foundations of Higher Medical Education”
  • “Current Issues in Medical Education and Educational Management”

3. One-week programs (36 hours) for teaching and academic staff at medical educational institutions covering the following topics:

  • ” Case Teaching in Medical Education”
  • “Online Tools for Distance and Blended Learning in Medical Education”
  • ” Foreign Language Teaching in Medical Education”
  • “Psychological Competence as a Component of Professional Activity for Instructors”
  • “Immersive Learning Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education”
  • “Teaching Technologies in Medical Education (in English)”
  • “Interactive Digital Technologies and Effective Communication in Medical Education”
  • “Teaching and Learning Based on Leadership Principles”
  • “Academic English for Researchers, Doctors, and Instructors”

The Center also offers the following courses for Ph.D. students:

  1. Philosophy of Science and Bioethics; Academic Ethics and Research Ethics; Theory of Cognition and Medicine.
  2. Academic English Language.
  3. Modern Teaching Methods in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education; Practice.
