At the Department of PIM No 2, students study a number of clinical disciplines for two years. In the second year the disciplines “Professionalism and medical ethics” and “Nursing care” are taught for students of medical faculties № 1, № 4 and faculty of training of foreign citizens. Students come to the clinic for the first time, get acquainted with and learn the special norms of behavior of a medical professional (doctor) (in the process of providing medical care, with the content and structure of biomedical ethics, their status and legal support in the modern society), learn to communicate with patients, master the practical monitoring patients and performing the simplest diagnostic and treatment procedures.
In the third year, medical students study the clinical discipline of “Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine”, which aims to master the methods of diagnosis of diseases (clinical, laboratory and instrumental) and the diagnosis of leading syndromes of internal diseases. The department also teaches the discipline “Nursing Practice”, students improve the skills of communication with patients and practical skills in individual diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, organization of work units of therapeutic hospitals.
The students of the Faculty of Pharmacy (full-time and correspondence department) are studying at the Department of PIM No 2, who are studying the course “First Aid with Familiarized Medical Practice” in the second course. And in the fourth course – discipline “Laboratory diagnostics”.
In the 5th year students of all medical faculties, faculty on work with foreign citizens, faculty of preparation of doctors for the Armed Forces, medical-psychological faculty are studying the cycle “Occupational diseases”, teaching of which is carried out by the staff of the department responsible for this cycle.
The training is conducted at all faculties and courses in the credit-modular system, which also includes independent study of individual issues and self-improvement of theoretical and practical knowledge.
The department conducts extensive methodological work, all lectures and practical classes have methodical support, multimedia support of all lectures and part of practical classes is applied. Computer-assisted training programs, including lung and heart auscultation, electrocardiography, and video, are used to acquire practical nursing and nursing practice skills. Audio materials are also used in the study of lung and heart listening topics. For the current control and during the final module control, we use a test database created by the staff of the department and certification of the planned practical skills.
There are sets of models and a phantom to learn practical skills such as various types of injections, probing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Students use clinical workshops and some tutorials created at the department.

specialty 222 “Medicine”: propaedeutics of internal medicine, including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the therapeutic department; Care of patients in the therapeutic department; Professionalism and medical ethics is an optional discipline; Occupational diseases are an optional discipline; ECG diagnosis of arrhythmias, coronary blood circulation disorders, inflammatory heart diseases, diesel electrolytes is a selective discipline.
