Internship and study course programs of orthopedics, trauma and vertebrology in hospitals of the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland.

Kryvchenia Danylo Yulianovych

Kryvchenia Danylo Yulianovych, was born on 1938, graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute with honors in 1960.

1960 to 1963 he worked resident surgeon of Cherkasy Regional Public Hospital.

1963 to 1966 he studied in post graduatation at the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Kyiv Institute for Post Diploma Studies. Under guidance of M.M. Amosov successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Open arterial duct (surgical treatment, hemodynamics before and after surgery”) and was elected for the position of assistant professor of the department at the Kyiv Institute for Post Diploma Studies.

In 1978 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “Surgical treatment of rheumatic heart disease and children and adolescents”, and in 1980 – was awarded with the title of professor and worked at the department of thoraco-abdominal surgery. From 1971 to 1980 he was the organizer and head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at the Kyiv Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery (Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantation).

In 1980, founded Department of Pediatric Surgery with the congenital malformations in Kyiv Institute for Post Diploma Studies the in children based Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology he was the head of scientific team.

1992 to 2011 with the invitation of the rector of the Bogomolets National Medical University, he headed the department of pediatric surgery.

1989 to 2003 – chief pediatric surgeon at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine; 1988 to 1993 – expert of the USSR attestation commission for doctors for pediatric surgery. From 1975 to 1990 he was the scientific secretary of the specialized council at the Institute for Post Diplom Studies for Doctors. He initiated the creation of a specialized council for the defending scientific theses in surgical disciplines, of which he is a member to this day.

Under his guidance 30 candidates of medical sciences  and 10 doctoral theses were defended. He has published 8 monographs, 10 textbooks and 4 basic surgical textbooks (2009, 2015, 2017, 2019), has over 600 scientific papers and over 80 patents.

Professor D.Yu. Kryvchenia, was the founder and president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, is a regular participant in the organization of scientific international congresses and conferences. He trained abroad in (Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, USA, Russia) Professor D.Yu. Kryvchenia is a full time member of the European Association of Pediatric Surgeons, member of the editorial boards of three foreign journals published in reputed publications.

Professor D.Yu. Kryvchenia is highly qualified surgeon the main directions of scientific and practical activity covering the wide groups of operations in all operations on the heart and blood vessels, including the open heart with the use of artificial circulation, operations on the chest and abdominal cavity in newborns and children of older age groups (operations on the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, diaphragm, liver, spleen, pancreas, stomach and intestines).

Several surgical techinqes of D.Yu. Kryvchenia as author are globally recognized: translocation of the diaphragm with lung aplasia, reconstruction of deformities of chest wall, separation of the vascular ring, splenopexia in diaphragmatic hernias, stapler suture in the treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease, and more.

For many years of conscientious work, significant personal contribution to the preparation of Ukrainian and foreign scientific-pedagogical and surgical staff and the high professionalism of Professor D.Yu. Kryvchenia was awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the parliment of Ukraine (1988), Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2003, 2008), Acknowledgment of the Prime Minister of Ukraine (2008), Acknowledgment of the Mayor of Kyiv (2018),  Acknowledgment of the Presidents of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Poland (2008) and India (2010), Diploma and “OTIS” for international cooperation (Warsaw, 2008), Awarded the highest title “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine” (1997), Awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (2008).

 

 

Dubrovin Oleksandr Glibovych

Was born in 1952. He graduated from Pediatric Faculty of Kyiv Medical Institute in 1977. After finishing his internship, since 1978 to 1981 he worked as a pediatric surgeon in the Children’s Clinical Hospital №2.

In a period from 1981 to 1991 he was junior and then senior research associate in the surgical department of congenital anomalies in Pediatric Obstetric and Gynecology Research Institute. In 1991 he was appointed an assistant professor of Surgery Department to Advanced Medical Education Institute. In 1994 he was appointed an assistant professor of Pediatric Surgery Department to Bogomolets National Medica University. In 2004 he became a senior lecturer, and since February 2007 he holds an appointment as a professor.

Oleksandr Dubrovin defended his research thesis to become a Candidate of Medical Sciences in 1988. In 2005 he became a Doctor of Medical Sciences. Professor Dubrovin is an author of more than 180 published works with 1 monography and 1 manual amongst them; he has got 15 medical patents and he is a co-author of the textbook on pediatric surgery. His scientific interests are focused on respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract congenital anomalies, portal hypertension in children.

Professor Oleksandr Dubrovin is responsible for Pediatric Surgery department research and scientific performance. He is proficient in English and teaches foreign students. Professor Dubrovin performs a large amount of advisory and clinical work. Under his supervision 2 theses for Candidate of Medical sciences were defended. At the moment he is a scientific director of the PhD candidates and one candidate for a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree.

Professor Oleksandr Dubrovin is a member of the Board of Studies for Doctor of Medical Sciences degree earning. He is also a member of Surgical task group and “Child’s health” Journal editorial board member.

In 2004 he was honored with Kyiv mayor’s Certificate of Acknowledgement.

 

 

Prytula Vasyl Petrovych

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor

 

Prytula Vasyl Petrovych, born оn 1965, graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Institute in 1993. From 1993 to 1996 he studied in the Magistarature at the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Bogomolets National Medical University. From 1996 to 1999 – postgraduation clinical residency, from December 1999 – assistant professor, from February 2007 – associate professor, and from January 2013 – professor at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bogomolets National Medical University based the National Specialized Children Hospital “Okhmatdyt”. In 2000 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Primary colorectal anastomosis in the treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease in children”, and in 2012 he defended his doctoral thesis on “Surgical treatment of children with liver and biliary tract cysts”.

Prytula Vasyl Petrovych – pediatric surgeon of the highest category. The main directions of scientific and practical activity wide groups of operations – correction of congenital malformations and diseases of the respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract with open and endoscopic technique. Together with his colleagues, he proposed a stapler colorectal anastomosis for the treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease and improved the diagnostic procedures for the functional disorders in colostasis. With his participation reconstructive-plastic operations with extensive resections of the colon were developed, the technique of correction of the funnel chest was improved, and a number of tools for correction of this pathology were introduced, methods of correction of congenital diaphragmatic organs were improved, methods of treating cystic lesions of parenchymatous abdominal organs, using mini-invasive and laparoscopic techniques. He was trained in (Poland, Italy, Israel – multiple times, Czech Republic, Portugal, Germany, Ireland, India).

Prytula Vasyl Petrovych is the author of 420 printed scientific works, 67 patents of Ukraine, co-author of 4 textbooks and 16 educational manuals for students of higher medical schools

Professor Prytula V.P. – Vice-president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, member of the European Association of Pediatric Surgeons, chief specialist in the specialty “Pediatric Surgery” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, member of the specialized scientific council for the defending scientific and doctoral theses at Bogomolets National Medical University, a member of the editorial board of the journal “Pediatric Surgery. Ukraine”, he is the member of the editorial board of the journal “Neonatology, Surgery and Perinatal Medicine”.

Under his supervision, 5 Ph.D. theses are defended and 2 doctoral theses are under process.

In 1997 he graduated from the Pediatric Faculty of the Crimean Medical Institute named after S.I. Georgievsky.

1997 – 1999 – internship in the specialty “pediatric surgery” at the Crimean Republican Children’s Clinical Hospital (Simferopol).

2000 – 2002 – clinical residency in the Department of Thoraco-Abdominal Surgery for Developmental Disorders in Newborns and Older Children of the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

2002 – 2005 – postgraduate study at the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Bogomolets National Medical University.

Benzar Iryna, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of Department of Pediatric Surgery, In 1997 graduated the Medical Faculty of the I.Gorbacevkyy Ternopil Medical Academy.

Internship and residency: 1997 – 2000 – postgraduate study at the Department of Human Anatomy of the I.Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. 2006 – Primary specialized in Pediatric Surgery at the D.Halytsky Lviv National Medical University

MD degree: 2018. Theme of dissertation: “Diagnosis and tactics of surgical treatment of vascular anomalies in children”.

Benzar I. is the author of over 100 scientific publication and chapters of 5 books, including a monograph «Vascular Anomalies in children».

Postgraduate trainings: Vascular Anomalies Center in Boston Children’s Hospital (2015), Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York (2019).

She is an active member of International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) since 2015 and member of All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.

Main research interests are surgical, endovascular and conservative treatment of vascular anomalies (vascular malformations and vascular tumors). She introduced to clinical practice modern treatment methods of vascular tumors and vascular malformations. She evaluates approximately 400 patients annually with hemangiomas, rare vascular tumors and vascular malformations of all types. Recognizing the limitations of surgical techniques, he is also focusing on alternative treatment methods of vascular anomalies (endovascular, conservative, sclerotherapy).

 

 

Pysmenniy Viktor, PHd, Docent / associative professor. In 1967 graduated the Kyiv Order of the Red Banner of Labour Medical Institute. During 1974-1976 passed the clinical residency in O.O. Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute. Postgraduate studies in P.L. Shupyk National Medical Postgraduate Academy. Thesis topic: “Surgical management of bladder exstrophy in children”. The main fields of research are acute diseases of the abdominal cavity and acquired intestinal obstruction. Introduction to clinical practice: Modern methods of intussusception treatment in children. Author of more than 100 scientific publications, including 15 educational articles and 4 patents of inventions. Member of Ukrainian pediatric surgeons’ association. Awards: Kyiv mayor’s Certificate of Acknowledgement, (2014), “Ukrtechnology” diploma (2004).

 

 

Godik Oleg Sviatoslavovych

graduated from Pediatric Faculty of Bogomolets National Medica University in 2004. After finishing his internship, since 2006 to 2013 he worked as a pediatric surgeon in the Urgent Surgery Department of Children’s National Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt”. Oleg Godik defended his research thesis to become a Candidate of Medical Sciences in 2013. His thesis topic was “Reinterventions in the treanment of portal hypertension in children”.

Oleg Godik is an author of more than 180 published works with 1 monography and 1 manual amongst them; he has got 15 medical patents and he is a co-author of the textbook on pediatric surgery. His scientific interests are focused on biliary tract congenital anomalies, portal hypertension and other liver and pancreas diseases in children.

Assistant professor Oleg Godik is responsible for Pediatric Surgery department international collaboration ans Students’ Coterie performance. He is proficient in English and teaches foreign students. Assistant professor Godik performs a large amount of advisory and clinical work.

Metlenko Oleksandr Volodymyrovych,

born in 1979, graduated with honors in 2002 from the Pediatric Faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University. From 2002 to 2004 he was trained in internship in the speciality “pediatric surgery”. At the same time he studied in the magistracy at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bogomolets National Medical University, after which he defended his master’s thesis on “Gastro-esophageal reflux as surgical pathology of the esophagus in children” and received a diploma with honors. From 2004 to 2007 he studied at the postgraduate course at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bogomolets National Medical University, after which in 2008 he defended his Ph.D. dissertation on the topic: “Surgical treatment of gastro-esophageal reflux in children.” Since December 2007 he has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bogomolets National Medical University.

The main directions of scientific and practical activity Metlenko O.V. there is in improvement the diagnosis and treatment of malformations and diseases of the digestive tract, tracheo-bronchial tree, lungs and mediastinum. The priority area of ​​work is mini-invasive and endoscopic surgery. He has undergone advanced training in – Belarus (2012), Poland (2014, 2019). He is working on a doctoral dissertation on the topic “Reconstructive and plastic surgery for acquired and congenital stenosis in children”, which was approved in 2019.

Vitіaz Volodymyr Mykolayovych,

born in 1975, Ukrainian, higher education, graduated in 1997 from the Pediatric Faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University. From 1997 to 1999 he studied at the internship at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2010 he defended his PhD thesis on “Osteosynthesis of fractures of the proximal radial bone in children”.

He completed a 4-month internship in Japan in 2004 and an internship in the US at a Mississippi University clinic in 2008. Member of the European Association of Pediatric Orthopedists.

Since 2011 – assistant in Department of Pediatric Surgery, Bogomolets National Medical University. He is the co-author of 3 textbooks, 17 printed scientific papers and 1 patent of Ukraine. The H-Index is 2.

He is a pediatric orthopedist of the highest category. Has 21 years of surgical experience. Specialization – treatment of injuries and skeletal deformities in children, arthroscopic interventions in children, reconstructive interventions on the hip joint.

Valerie Soroutchan is an assistant professor and PhD. In 2010 she graduated from the O.O. Bogomolets NMU. After graduation and residency, she was enrolled into clinical ordinance in 2013. In 2014 she went through training in Denver (USA). She is a consistent participant and presenter at the annual ESPES meetings (European Society of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgeons). In 2017 she completed her PhD thesis and in 2018 attained the status, subject was: Mesocaval shunting in the surgical treatment of portal hypertension in children. Main field of interest: GI bleeding, portal hypertension, diagnostics of congenital and attained surgical pathology in children. Soroutchan V. is the author of 34 articles and one patent. Since year 2014 she is a member of the IPEG (International Pediatric Endosurgery Goup). In 2018 (from July till November) Soroutchan V. was the acting dean of the faculty for training foreign students.

Silchenko Mykhailo Ivanovych,

born on 1951, graduated with honors from the Pediatric Faculty of Kyiv Medical University in 1977. In the same year he started working in the surgical department of the Ukrainian Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt” as resident doctor. In 1981, he was appointed head of the department of thoraco-abdominal surgery, where he still works.

Silchenko Mykhailo Ivanovych has the qualification  of highest category surgeon in the specialty “Pediatric surgery” and has high scientific and practical training. He is a co-author of 180 scientific papers published in Ukraine and foreign publications and has 20 patents. He is active participant of Ukrainian and foreign scientific and practical conferences.

In 2007 under the guidance of Professor D.Yu. Kryvchenia defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Staged surgical treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease in children”. He first proposed and substantiated new views and principles of the step-by-step surgical treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease in Ukraine, which underlie the severity of this malformation.

The main directions of scientific and practical activity are correction of congenital malformations and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Silchenko Mykhailo Ivanovych is a member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and a member of the European Association of Pediatric Surgeons.

In 2008, he was awarded by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, with the title “Honored Doctor of Ukraine”. For many years of conscientious work he was awarded with certificates of honor by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Acknowledgment of the Mayor of Kyiv.

 

 

Hussaini Syed Faizullah

Hussaini Syed Faizullah, born 1975, graduated in 2002 from the Medical Faculty from Bogomolets National Medical University.

2002 to 2006 he studied in clinical residency at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Bogomolets National Medical University based at the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt”. After completing his clinical residency, he was enrolled in postgraduate studies as aspirant in pediatric surgery at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2009 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Surgical treatment of children with congenital hernia”.

Since September 1, 2014 he has been working as an assistant professor  at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Bogomolets National Medical University.

Hussaini Syed Faizullah is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian as well as Hindi, Urdu and Telugu.

He is the author of 110 printed scientific works, has 22 patents of Ukraine for utility model.

The main directions of scientific and practical activity are correction of congenital defects of respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract in open and endoscopic way. Was trained in India, Poland and USA.

Hussaini Syed Faizullah is a member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and a member of the European Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
