Garkavy Serhiy Ivanovych

Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor

 

Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (1997), Laureate of the Prize of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in the field of preventive medicine (2007), Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2017).

In 1971, he graduated with honors and a recommendation for scientific work from the Kyiv Medical Institute named after O.O. Bogomolets. He worked as the Chief State Sanitary Doctor (at the same time he served as the head of the district committee of the trade union of medical workers) of the Stavyshchansky district of the Kyiv region (1971-1973), and as the head of the food hygiene department of the Kyiv regional sanitary and epidemiological station.

He has been working at the department since September 3, 1973: assistant, since 1985 – associate professor, since 2004 and until now – head of the department.

He defended his candidate’s thesis (in 1980) on the topic “Comparative hygienic assessment of compact factory-made sewage plants”; he defended his doctoral thesis (in 2003) on the topic “Hygienic justification of optimal parameters of operation of new types of sewage treatment facilities for the purpose of sanitary protection of sources of domestic and drinking water supply of the population.”

Has prepared 5 candidates and 1 doctor of medical sciences.

Areas of scientific research: Scientific justification and development of measures to prevent infectious and non-infectious diseases among the population that spread through water, through sanitary protection of surface water sources and soil; hygienic studies to assess the impact of environmental factors on population health; establishment of patterns in the formation of the health status of rural children in Chernihiv region under the influence of environmental factors; hygienic assessment of the operating mode of swimming pools at educational institutions, hygienic justification of medical, pedagogical and sanitary-technical support of the educational process based on swimming pools at educational institutions, etc.

Author and co-author of about 400 published works. Among them – 12 textbooks, 6 teaching aids, 5 monographs (2 collective with international participation), 3 books; 9 inventions, more than 30 regulatory and methodological documents and standard programs of educational disciplines for students of higher medical educational institutions of Ukraine of III-II levels of accreditation, approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Has a higher qualification category in municipal hygiene. Member of the editorial boards of 3 scientific journals, Member of specialized scientific councils: D 26.003.01 Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) and D 26.604.01 State Enterprise «Institute of Public Health, Marzieiev National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

Co-chairman of the commission for establishing state medical and sanitary standards, state medical and sanitary rules, permissible parameters of the impact on the human body of chemicals and biological agents in atmospheric air, water of reservoirs and soil of the State Committee on Hygienic Regulation of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine; member of the Commission on Bioethical Expertise and Ethics of Scientific Research at the Bogomolets NMU; member of the technical committee for standardization of TC 147 “Quality of Drinking Water” at the A.V. Dumansky Institute of Colloidal Chemistry and Water Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine.

Vlasenko Oleh Mykolayovych

Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Colonel of the Medical Service, Vice-Rector for Research, Academic and Education Affairs

 

Laureate of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Prize (1996).

In 1993, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of the Bogomolets Ukrainian State Medical University.

He went through the path of an intern at the Department of Military Preventive Medicine of the Military Medical Department at the Bogomolets Ukrainian State Medical University (1993–1995), a postgraduate student at the Department of Military Preventive Medicine of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (1996–1999), head of the scientific research laboratory (organization of medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine) of the scientific center (military medicine) of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (1999–2000); head of the group for organizing and coordinating scientific research of the scientific center (military medicine) of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (2000–2001); senior assistant to the head of the educational department (for non-military training) (2001–2005); head of the scientific and organizational department of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (2006–2013); Deputy Head of the Academy for Scientific Work and Head of the Research Institute of Military Medicine Problems of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (2013–2016); Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy for Scientific Work (2016–2019) to the Vice-Rector for Research, Academic and Education Affairs of the Bogomolets National Medical University (from June 14, 2019 to the present). The main works are devoted to the hygienic justification of the organization of the educational process of tank cadets and the hygienic justification of the optimization of water supply to military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a special period. Main works: “Innovative approach to the organization and provision of medical care in hybrid warfare” (in collaboration).

Kozak Natalia Dmytrivna

Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Colonel of the Medical Service, Dean of the Faculty for Training of Doctors for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

 

In 1999, she graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) with a degree in “Medical Science”, and in 2000, she completed an internship with a degree in “General Hygiene” at the NMU.

Since 1999 in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: senior medical hygienist of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Detachment of the National Guard of Ukraine, since 2000 – head of the sanitary and hygienic department of a separate detachment of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since 2005 – head of the Department of Prevention of Socially Dangerous and Infectious Diseases of the Health Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since 2007 – head of the sanitary and hygienic department of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Since September 2009 – senior lecturer of the Department of Military Preventive Medicine of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy at 0.25 part-time rate. Since August 2012 – associate professor of the Department of Organization of Medical Support of the Armed Forces at 0.25 part-time position.

In 2015, she received the title of Associate Professor of the Department of Organization of Medical Support of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy, and since September 2016, she has been a Professor of the Department of Organization of Medical Support of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy for 0.25 part-time positions. From 2013 to 2016, she was the Head of the Scientific and Organizational Department of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy, and from 2016 to the present, she was the Head of the Faculty of Retraining and Advanced Training of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy.

Author of 93 publications, 83 of which are scientific and 10 of an educational and methodological nature, including 1 textbook.

Voronenko Volodymyr Vasyliovych

Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Retired Major General of the Medical Service

 

Honored Healthcare Worker of Ukraine. Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Honorary certificates: Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada.

In 1979 he graduated from the Military Medical Faculty at the Kuibyshev Medical Institute. In 1990 – the Faculty of the Management Staff of the Military Medical Academy in Leningrad (St. Petersburg);

Since 1987 – a medical hygienist of the army medical service, district, senior officer of the sanitary and epidemiological department of the medical department of the district;

Since 1990 – head of the sanitary and hygienic department of the Central Medical Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine; since 1991 – head of the sanitary and toxicoradiological laboratory of the Central Medical Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine; since 1995 – chief hygienist of the Department of Health Protection of Military Personnel of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine;

Since 1995 – Senior Inspector of Medical, Sanitary and Hygienic, Logistics and Environmental Support of the General Military Inspectorate under the President of Ukraine;

Since 2001 – First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy,

Since 2004 – Head of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy;

Since 2006 – First Deputy Chairman of the Governmental Committee for Drug Control;

Since 2010 – Director of the Department of Personnel, Education and Science of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;

Since 2012 – Deputy Director of the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

He defended his PhD thesis in 2004, the topic of the thesis was in the field of prevention of radiation injuries. The doctoral dissertation on the continuation of the topic of prevention of radiation accidents and emergency personnel in territories exposed to radioactive contamination was completed and defended in 2012.

Author and co-author of over 100 scientific papers. The main works are devoted to the protection of military personnel and military equipment from combat damage of a radiation, chemical, and biological nature, which were used to develop the statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 

 

 

 

Korshun Maria Mikhailivna

Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences

 

Laureate of the Academic Prize of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in Preventive Medicine (2001) for a series of scientific papers “Combined Action of Exogenous Chemical Substances and Radionuclides”.

Graduated with honors and a recommendation for scientific work from the Kyiv Medical Institute named after Academician O.O. Bogomolets (in 1986) and received a referral to the Department of Communal Hygiene of the Kyiv Medical Institute. At the department, she worked her way from a senior laboratory assistant with a higher education, a junior research fellow in self-financing scientific subjects, an assistant (since 1988), an associate professor (since 2002) to a professor (since 2007) to the present.

Defended candidate’s thesis (in 1992) on the topic “Experimental substantiation of the maximum permissible concentration of ricid-P in soil and hygienic regulations for its use in the system of chemical protection of rice”.

Defended doctoral thesis (in 2005) on the topic “Hygienic substantiation of measures for the prevention of the combined effect of ionizing radiation and chemical soil pollutants”.

Has prepared 8 candidates and 1 doctor of medical sciences.

Scientific interests: hygiene and toxicology of chemical plant protection products; hygienic regulation of chemical substances in the soil; complex, combined and combined action of chemical substances and ionizing radiation (experimental and epidemiological studies).

The results of scientific research have been implemented in practical activities in the form of: medical and sanitary standards (over 350) for pesticides in the air of the working area, atmospheric air, water, soil, food and agricultural raw materials; patents for utility models (8); methodological guidelines (31) on the analytical determination of pesticides in environmental objects, food and agricultural raw materials; information sheets (16) on innovations in the health care system.

The total number of publications is over 400. Among them are 1 monograph, 9 textbooks, 1 manual, 3 collections of assignments for students; 8 declarative patents for a useful model.

Shvaher Oksana Volodymyrivna

Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences

 

In 2004, she graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU), Medical Faculty No 4, with a degree in “Medical and Preventive Care” and received the qualification of a doctor (diploma with honors). From 2004 to 2005, she studied for a master’s degree at the Department of Communal Hygiene and Human Ecology of NMU.

In 2005, she defended her master’s thesis on the topic: “Hygienic assessment of the impact of road transport on the state of atmospheric air in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv” and received the educational and qualification level of a master’s degree in “Medical and Preventive Care”.

From 2004 to 2009, she worked at the Kyiv City Sanitary and Epidemiological Station as a sanitary doctor for communal hygiene.

From 2009 to 2016, she worked at the State Institution “O.M. Marzieiev Institute for Hygiene and Medical Ecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (now the State Institution “Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”) in the laboratory of carcinogenic factors, where she worked her way from a junior researcher to a senior researcher.

Since 2015, she has been working at the Department of Communal and Military Hygiene and Human Ecology of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, first as an assistant, and since 2019 as an associate professor.

In 2014, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Sciences on the topic: “Hygienic assessment of the role of priority carcinogenic compounds of atmospheric air in the formation of oncological morbidity in the city population”. She has the highest qualification category of a doctor in municipal hygiene.

In 2021, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology.

He performs the duties of the secretary of the department, is responsible for the educational process in the 6th year.

Has 50 scientific and educational and methodological publications, including 2 articles in publications cited in international databases (SCOPUS), is a co-author of one patent and three information letters, and actively participates in scientific and practical conferences and congresses.

Horbachevsky Ruslan Viktorovych

Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences

 

In 2002, he graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU), Medical Faculty No 4, with a degree in “Medical and Preventive Medicine” and received the qualification of a doctor.

From 2002 to 2005, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Communal Hygiene and Human Ecology of NMU with the right to undergo an internship, after which he received a diploma in the specialty “Communal Hygiene” in 2003.

From 2006 to 2016, he worked as an assistant professor at the department, from 2016 to 2019 – as a senior lecturer at the department, and from 2019 to the present – he works as an associate professor at the department.

He defended his PhD thesis (in 2013) on the topic: “Hygienic justification of regulations for the use of imidazolinone herbicides based on imazapyr and imazamox in agriculture”.

In 2021, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology.

Scientific interests: hygienic standardization of chemical plant protection products in soil and adjacent environments.

He is the author and co-author of more than 60 published works, including 9 articles (one of which is in a publication indexed by the Scopus database), 1 information letter and 1 declarative patent for a utility model.

Martiyanova Yulia Volodymyrivna

Assistant of the Department, Postgraduate Student

 

In 2014, she graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) with a degree in “Medical and Preventive Medicine” and received a doctor’s qualification. Since 2014, she has been employed as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Communal Hygiene and Human Ecology with the Hygiene Section for Children and Adolescents, with the right to do an internship in the specialty “General Hygiene”.

Since 2015, she has worked as an assistant and senior laboratory assistant at the same department on an internal part-time basis, and since April 2019, as an assistant at the Department of Hygiene and Ecology No 3.

In 2021, she was enrolled in a full-time postgraduate course, where she studies at the Department of communal and military hygiene and human ecology of NMU, specialty 222 “Medicine”. The approved topic of the dissertation work is: “Hygienic justification of measures to prevent the harmful effects of new pesticides on the human body during their migration from soil to adjacent environments” (Decision of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Training Doctors for the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Bogomolets National Medical University of November 11, 2021).

Scientific interests: hygienic standardization of chemical plant protection products in the soil.

Total number of publications – 44, including 11 articles; 2 information sheets on innovations in the health care system; 8 methodological guidelines for the analytical determination of pesticides in soil, water, air of the working area and atmospheric air, food products and agricultural raw materials.

In 2004, she graduated from the M.Gorky Donetsk National Medical University.

The main areas of scientific and practical work are hygienic aspects of children’s stay in out-of-school education institutions, studying the implementation of the latest system of education in New Ukrainian School (NUS) and physiological properties of children aged 6-10.
