The research of graduate students is closely related to the topic of the department and is an integral part of the scientific work: “Pathogenetic substantiation of new approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of type 2 diabetes, associated diseases and chronic complications.”

Viktoriya Mykolaivna Yerokhovych: “Early diagnosis and optimization of treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease with type 2 diabetes depending on the level of vitamin D.”

Yuzvenko Violetta Serhiivna: “The influence of sleep disorders on the dynamics of body weight in people with insulin resistance.”

In the work of Yerokhovych V.M. new approaches to early diagnosis and optimization of treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes will be studied. The impact of insufficient supply of vitamin D on the risks of developing diabetes and associated complications, detection of polymorphism of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene in patients with deficiency and deficiency of the main metabolite of vitamin D (25-hydroxycalciferol) will be considered in detail. The development of the latest strategies and modern recommendations for early diagnosis and therapy will improve the quality of life of patients and the prognosis.

Research by Yuzvenko V.S. will be aimed at optimizing the treatment of sleep disorders in patients with insulin resistance and further preventing the progression of type 2 diabetes and reducing complications. We plan to evaluate the relationship between hormonal and metabolic indicators and the presence of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in patients. We will conduct additional clinical trials and study the potential benefits of normalizing sleep in patients with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
