 Recommended Open-Access Oncology Educational Resources

The Department of Oncology recommends the following educational resources from leading international oncology organisations for supplementary learning and professional development. These resources provide access to lectures, educational sessions, training modules, and contemporary developments in oncology.

European School of Oncology (ESO) — e-ESO

The online educational platform of the European School of Oncology provides free access to live and recorded lectures, e-sessions, courses, educational pathways, and presentations covering a broad range of topics in oncology.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) — SEER Training Modules

The U.S. National Cancer Institute provides open online educational modules covering the fundamentals of cancer biology, diagnosis, staging, and treatment, as well as site-specific modules on major malignancies.

Topics include breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, pancreatic and biliary cancers, ovarian cancer, cervical and uterine cancers, head and neck cancer, and other malignancies.

NCI — Cancer Treatment

An educational module covering the major principles and modalities of cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy and other biological therapies, radiation therapy, palliative care, clinical trials, and genetic testing.

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) — Educational Videos

Selected presentations and educational videos from ASCO meetings provide access to expert discussions of contemporary developments in cancer research, diagnosis, treatment, precision oncology, and multidisciplinary cancer care.

The ASCO Educational Book is an online educational resource featuring expert reviews and educational articles on contemporary developments across different areas of oncology.

Additional Site-Specific Oncology Modules

Students may also use the NCI site-specific educational modules for supplementary study of individual tumour types, including breast, colorectal, lung, pancreatic and biliary, ovarian, cervical and uterine, head and neck cancers, melanoma, and other malignancies.
