The main areas of scientific work:
– Study of the main pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of perinatal pathology
- Study of the peculiarities of pregnancy and childbirth management in high-risk women
- Prevention and management of complications of early pregnancy (early gestosis, miscarriage, etc.);
- Management of pregnant women with varicose veins, metabolic syndrome, hemostasiological disorders;
- Scientific substantiation of the program “Partner Childbirth”, “Home Birth in the Clinic”.
- Study of etiopathogenesis and prevention of antenatal fetal death
- Optimization of the tactics of management and treatment of patients with intrauterine pathology using modern minimally invasive technologies.
- Development of the introduction of modern approaches and indications for medical examination, tactics and choice of treatment method for women of reproductive age with endometrial hyperplastic processes.

Specialized Academic Councils:
Employees of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 3 are members of specialized academic councils for awarding the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences D26.003.03 and D26.003.02.
Also, the staff of the department regularly take part in specialized one-time councils for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. In particular, in 2023 – 11 times; in 2024 – 15 times.
Thesis:
For the period 2020-2024, 1 dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, 3 dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences and 6 for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy were defended.
The staff of the department is working on the implementation of 1 dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Science and 5 – for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy
Patents obtained:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 3 has made a significant contribution to the fight against coronavirus during pregnancy and childbirth. Since the announcement of the epidemic situation in the capital, temporarily repurposed beds have been created at the clinical base of the department in the Kyiv City Maternity Hospital No. 3 to provide obstetric care to pregnant women, women in labor and women in labor infected with COVID-19. “Positioner for providing pron-position to pregnant women in the II-III trimesters of pregnancy”, Ukraine, Utility model patent No. 149674 Registered on 24.11.2021, bulletin. The staff of the department participates in international randomized clinical trials of medicines approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. They have international GCP certificates.
Scientific congresses
The staff of the department, headed by Professor Vasyl Benyuk, are the organizers of the annual international scientific and practical congress “Innovative Technologies in Gynecology, Mammology and Aesthetic Medicine” with practical master classes
