Napryeyenko Oleksandr Kostiantynovych‑ Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor.

In 1973 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Kyiv Medical Institute, after which he worked for 3 years in the Chernihiv region as a physician and chief doctor of a rural hospital, and then for 10 years as a psychotherapist and junior researcher at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology. In 1976 he passed the specialization in the specialty “Psychiatry”. In 1981 he defended his PhD, and in 1991 he received his PhD in the same specialty. In Bogomolets National Medical University he  has been working since 1986: as an assistant, then Assistant Professor and since 1991 he is the head of the department of psychiatry and narcology. In 1992 he received the title of Professor, in 2004 – the honorary title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.

From 1997 to 2000 – Member of the Expert Council of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine. From 1998 to 2005 and 2013 he was the chief freelance specialist in psychiatry and narcology at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Since 2005 – Member of the Expert Commission on Neurotropic Drugs of the State Pharmacological Center of the Ministry of Health of  Ukraine. From 2010 to 2015 – Head of the Problem Commission on Psychiatry and Narcology at the Ministry of Health and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Member of editorial boards of 11 professional scientific journals.

Author of about 360 printed scientific and educational works, including 41 books: 21 textbooks and manuals, 10 monographs, 10 forms of medicines and clinical guidelines; in addition 12 methodological recommendations, 10 information sheets, 33 articles in leading world medical journals and abstracts of reports abroad; in the last 5 years, he has published 50 works, including 8 national textbooks and manuals in Ukrainian, English and Russian and 2 national standards for the provision of medical care. He has made scientific reports at numerous international scientific forums. Co-author of the first Law of Ukraine “On Psychiatric Care” (2000) and more than 30 directive documents on its implementation. Has trained 4 doctors and 20 PhDs, now advises 3 PhDs and supervises 3 PhD theses. Chairman of the Board of  Kyiv Regional Society of Psychiatrists, Narcologists and Medical Psychologists, Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Neuropathologists, Psychiatrists and Narcologists of Ukraine, Member of the Board of the International Association of Emergency (Extreme) Psychiatry.

He was awarded the Order of the Reverend Agapit Pechersky, several honorary diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Mayor of Kyiv and a number of departmental insignia.

 

DzeruzhynskaNataliiaOleksandrivna‑ Doctor of medical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction.

In 1986, graduated from the first medical faculty of the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute. In 1986-1988, studied at the clinical residency, and in 1988-1991, post-graduate study at the V.P. Serbskyi Institute for General and Forensic Psychiatry (Moscow), where in 1991 she successfully defended her PhD thesis. From 1992 to 2010, she worked at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Social and Forensic Psychiatry and Narcology, where she rose from junior to leading researcher. In 2001, she was awarded the title of “Senior researcher”. In 2003 she defended her doctoral thesis on the topic: “Comorbid mental disorders in elderly patients of General medical (cardiological) practice”.

Since 2011 worked as an Associate Professor, and since 2013 as a Professor of the Department of psychiatry and narcology at Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2015 she was awarded the academic title “Professor of the Department of psychiatry and narcology”.

N.O. Dzeruzhynska is a member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology and the Аpprobation Council “Nervous diseases and psychiatry” of Bogomolets National Medical University. Member of the specialized academic Council D26. 620. 01 at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Social and Forensic Psychiatry and Narcology of the Ministry of health of Ukraine, specialty 14.01.16 – psychiatry. Is also a member of the editorial Board of Scientific Journal “Archives of psychiatry”, electronic medical journal “Psychosomatic medicine and General practice” and international scientific-practical journal “Psychiatry, psychotherapy and clinical psychology” (Ukraine, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus).

O. Dzeruzhynska is a co-author of 23 monographs, textbooks and manuals, as well as more than 250 scientific articles, guidelines and other scientific works and 1 patent thesis tutor of 4 post-graduate studies. She has the highest qualification category in “Psychiatry”, with “Medical psychology”, also she has specializations in “Child psychiatry”, “Health management” and “Psychotherapy”.

O. Dzeruzhynska has founded a school of young psychiatrists and clinical psychologists at the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology.

Research interests include endogenous diseases, somatopsychic disorders, neuroses, and medical and psychological correction.

 

 

Seliukov Georgiy Ivanovych‑Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in Medicine.

In 1966he entered the medical faculty of Bogomolets  KMI. Since then his professional life has been involved with the National Medical University for over 53 years.

In 1972 he graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty of Kyiv Medical Institute and was admitted to the “Golden Book of Honor” of KMI. He combined the training with the work of a paramedic and a doctor of the visiting crew of the Central Ambulance Station in Kyiv.

After completing his postgraduate studies at the Department of Psychiatry in 1975, he worked as an assistant at the same department until 1992. In 1990 he defended his PhD dissertation in psychiatry. In 1992 he was elected Associate Professor of the department of psychiatry, and in 1993 he was given the academic title “Associate Professor”. He has higher qualification categories in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Chief Freelance Psychiatrist of Kyiv Health Department (1997-1998)

For 25 years (1992-2017) he was Assistant to the Head of the Department of Educational Work (Director of studies of the Department). For 22 years he has been the curator of the development of competence for interns at the department.

In 2003-2011, he co-taught the trainees-psychologists of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of  Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University of on the basics of sexology, general psychopathology and psychosomatic medicine.

He is the author of 49 printed scientific works, including being a co-author of a textbook for students of higher medical institutions of III-IV accreditation levels recommended by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In the initiative group headed by L.E. Muzychuk he was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Anti-Epileptic League. Since 1995 ‑Member of the Board and Executive Committee of UPEL, and since 2017 ‑ Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Antiepileptic League, member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Epileptology, member of the Board of the Kyiv branch of the Association of Psychiatrists of Ukraine. In 1998, he was elected to the Member of the European Epilepsy Academy.

He was repeatedly thanked and awarded with certificates of honor by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Mayor of Kyiv. He was awarded the Medal «Labor Veteran», the Medal «Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945».

Duplenko PavloYuriyovych – Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in Medicine.

Born in 1960, graduated in 1983 from Kyiv Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine, specializing in “medical practice”. From 1983 to 1986 he worked as a psychiatrist at KSPNH# 1. From 1986 to 1989 – a post-graduate student at Bogomolets Institute of Physiology. In 1993 he achieved  PhD graduation on the topic “Psychophysiological characteristics of persons with chronic alcohol intoxication”. From 1989 to 1999 he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and at the Ukrainian Research Institute of General and Forensic Psychiatry. From 1999 to the present time he works at the Department of  Psychiatry and Narcology at  Bogomolets National Medical University as an assistant, and since 2009 – Assistant Professor. Professional experience – 35 years,  scientific experience – 32 years, teaching experience – 19 years. He is the curator of the student scientific club. He is the author of 50 printed scientific works, including the co-author of 3 textbooks for students of higher medical institutions of III – IV accreditation levels recommended by the Ministry of  Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. He was awarded an honorary diploma by the Mayor of Kyiv.

 

 

 

 

Protsyk Valentyna Oleksiivna–  Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in Medicine.

In 1977 she graduated with honors from Pirogov Vinnitsa Medical Institute. She worked as a psychiatrist at Kyiv Regional Psychoneurological Hospital # 2. Since 1989 she holds the position of assistant, and since 2004 –  the Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction of Bogomolets National Medical University. The PhD thesis on “Suicidal manifestations in mental disorders in people over 45” was defended in 1992. Her 53 scientific papers have been published. Her scientific researches are devoted to the problem of suicidal behavior, treatment of depression, study of the influence of pathoplastic factors in the main forms of mental pathology, study of the effectiveness and tolerability of modern psychopharmacotherapy of schizophrenia and affective disorders with concomitant exogenous-organic pathology. She has the highest qualification category in psychiatry, carries out medical-diagnostic and consultative work, conducts clinical conferences with the analysis of patients at the Kyiv Clinical hospital “Psychiatry”.

She has trained in psychiatry in Austria at the Salzburg-Cornell Seminar (Salzburg, 1997), and regularly improves her qualification at the Department of Psychiatry at the P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, participated in the educational program of the Moscow Institute of Gestalt and Gestalt Psychiatrists in Counseling / Therapy (Kyiv, 2003), at the International Training Seminar in Greece (Athens, 2005), Bulgaria (Sofia, 2009), GSP-trainings etc. She has experience in conducting international multicenter randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials of medicines as a co-investigator, is the research coordinator, thereafter.

 

 

 

 

 

Bursa Andrii Ivanovych–  Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, PhD in Medicine. Responsible for the department’s teaching and English-speaking education.

Graduated from Bogomolets National MedicalUniversity in 1997 by specialty “Medicine”. From 1997 to 2005 he had been working as a psychiatrist at the Kyiv City Psychiatric Hospital # 1. Since 2005 he has worked as an assistant of the department, and since 2019 holds the position of Associate Professor of the department of Psychiatry and Narcology. He completed his postgraduate education at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Social, Forensic Psychiatry and Narcology, in 2008 he obtained his dissertation for degree PhD in Medicine on the topic “Autoaggressive behavior in elderly patients with organic depressive disorder (clinic, diagnostics, therapy, prophylactics)”14.01.16-Psychiatry. Psychiatrist of the high qualification category.

Author and co-author about of 30 printed scientific works, including one monograph. Most of the scientific work dedicated to depressive disorders, their features and suicidogenesis in old age. Among his scientific interests are age-related pathomorphosis of various forms of mental disorders and pharmacotherapeutic correction of endogenous mental illnesses.

In 2018 he received a Certificate of Proficiency in English at Level B2 (APTIS) from the British Council in Ukraine.

In 2014he was awarded the Acknowledgment by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

 

 

 

 


Otroshchenko Nataliia Petrivna – Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in Medicine.

Otroshchenko Nataliia Petrivna graduated in 1987 with honors from the Medical Faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute. She studied in the clinical residency at the Department of Psychiatry of the KMI, the Department of Neurology and Reflexology at the Shupyk Kyiv State Institute for the Advancement of Physicians (1998-1990), in the postgraduate study at the V.P. Serbskyi Institute of General and Forensic Psychiatry (1990-1994). She worked as a junior researcher, research scientist and senior researcher at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Social and Forensic Psychiatry of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In 1995 she defended her PhD dissertation “Depressive disorders in liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident (clinic, diagnostics, treatment)”.

Since 1999she has been working as an assistant at the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at  Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2001 she was voted in the post of the Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry of NMU. She teaches practical classes and gives lectures on psychiatry and medical psychology, performs scientific work, she spent 15 years in the Department overseeing methodical, educational work, student performance rating. She has the highest qualification category in psychiatry, constantly raising his professional level: at the Department of Psychiatry at the doctors’ perfection faculty at the Lviv State Medical University, the Department of Neurology and Reflexology, the Department of Psychiatry at the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Studies (1990, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2006, 2010, 2016, 2020). N.P.Otroshchenko participates in scientific conferences, symposia, congresses, is the author of 50 scientific works, methodological recommendations, efficiency proposals on issues of diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of depression in patients with mental and somatic disorders. She oversees the educational and organizational work of the Department.

 

 

 

 

Babych Victoriia Volodymyrivna– Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in medicine.

In 1996 she graduated from the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy in Poltava specializing in “Medical practice”. From 1996 to 2004 she worked as a psychiatrist at the Maltsev Poltava Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. From 2004 to 2008 she studied in postgraduate studies with distinction from production at the Institute of Forensic and Social Psychiatry and Addiction. Since 2008 she has been working at the department. Since 2008 she has the PhD degree in medicine, dissertation “Psychotherapy in the complex treatment of adaptation disorders in patients with acute myocardial infarction”. She is the author of more than 30 scientific papers, co-author of the monograph “Non-circular depression”.

Psychiatrist of the highest category, narcologist, medical psychologist, psychotherapist. Professional experience – 24 years, scientific experience – 16 years, teaching experience – 16 years. Responsible for scientific work at the department.

She was awarded an honorary diploma by the Academic Council of the University.

 

 

 

 

 

KharchukYevgeniyValeriyovych‑teaching Assistant at the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, PhD in Medicine.

In 2005 he graduated from Vinnitsa Pirogov National Medical University. Since 2008 he has worked at the Institute of Social and Forensic Psychiatry and Addiction as a junior, senior researcher. From 2010 to 2013 he attended postgraduate studies with a degree in social and forensic psychiatry and narcology. Since 2014 Kharchuk holds the position of Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the National Medical University.

Candidate’s dissertation on “Cognitive impairment in persons with paranoid schizophrenia comorbid with hypertension” was defended in 2014. 24 scientific publications have been published. Scientific works are devoted to problems of somatopsychic pathology, combination of endogenous mental illnesses with dependence on psychoactive substances, behavioral addictions, disorders of sexual identification, treatment of affective disorders.

Scientific interests are related to borderline psychiatry, personality disorders, affective pathology.

Dolynskyi Roman Gennadiiovych‑Senior laboratory assistant in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction. He is currently doing a parallel internship in the specialty “Psychiatry”.

In 2019 he graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty №1 of  Bogomolets National Medical University. During his studies at the university, he took an active part in the work of the student scientific society of the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction. In the years 2017-2018, he received an internship during summer vacations at German psychiatric clinics (The clinic of Emden and the Marburg University clinic). In 2018 and 2019 he took part in the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in Psychiatry and Addiction, in 2019 he took the 2nd place in the second stage of the Olympiad. He is the author of 7 publications. He is responsible for providing materials and the patients’ demonstrations for lectures.

 

 

 

 

Lelyuk NataliiaValeriivna – Laboratory Assistant at Department of Psychiatry and Addiction. She has been working at the Department since 2000.
