Yulia Deeva  – Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor.

In 1995, she graduated from the Ukrainian State Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets.

In 1997-1999, she completed a clinical residency at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

She completed an internship in endoscopic rhinosurgery (Italy, Milan), courses in ear microsurgery and otoneurosurgery (Poland, Warsaw).

In 2001, she defended her PhD thesis on “Violation of the circulation of intralubirinal fluid with neurosensory hearing loss of various genesis and methods of its correction.”

In 2012, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic  “Peripheral and central disturbances of the vestibular analyzer in patients with diabetes mellitus (clinical and experimental research)”.

A doctor of the highest category. Annually, at the invitation of foreign colleagues, she attends international forums, conferences, workshops and seminars on otorhinolaryngology.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

Scientific interests:

  • auditory and vestibular disorders in patients with disorders of the endocrine system;
  • etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of sensorineural deafness;
  • modern methods of treatment of acute and chronic pathologies of the ENT organs;
  • immunological reaction in patients with acute and chronic diseases of the ENT organs;
  • vestibular dysfunction in patients with diabetes;
  • history of otorhinolaryngology in Ukraine;
  • scientific approach to teaching methods in higher education.

Implementation in clinical practice: 3 patents

Publications: more than 150 scientific papers, including manuals and methodical recommendations.

Member of the European Federation of Audiologists, a member of the Approbation Council “Special Issues of Surgery”, member of the Academic Council of the Medical Faculty № 2, Bogomolets National Medical University, member of the Working Group of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the preparation of national protocols (instructions) for ENT (otolaryngology ).

She was awarded with “Gratitude of the mayor” and “Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for his significant personal contribution to the development of public health and high professionalism.

Oleksandr Naumenko – corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine,Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for scientifico-pedagogical, Curative and postgraduate education.

In 1988, he graduated from the Kyiv Medical Institute named after Academician O.O. Bogomolets.

He completed an internship in endoscopic rhinosurgery, ear microsurgery and ear neurosurgery courses (Warsaw, Poland).

In 1998, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic “The state of mineral metabolism and methods of its correction in some forms of rhinitis”.

In 2002, a doctoral dissertation devoted to the issues of spontaneous and induced pathomorphosis of chronic rhinitis in inhabitants of the Kyiv region.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

Number of trained graduate students: 5

Scientific interests: the result of many years of work of Professor O.M. Naumenko became the creation of a new direction in science – ecological rhinology. Under his supervision, 3 candidate’s and 1 doctoral theses were defended.

Implementation in clinical practice: 2 patents of Ukraine.

Publications: more than 140 scientific papers, including 4 monographs, 2 inventions, 4 educational manuals, 2 methodological recommendations.

Oleksandr Mykolayovych is the first vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work. He also has one of the key roles in the creation of the Faculty of Training of Doctors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Awards: Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Excellence in Education of Ukraine, Honored with a Certificate of Gratitude and Certificate of Honor from the Mayor of Kyiv.

Fedir Tyshko – Professor,Doctor of Medical Sciences.

In 1960, he graduated from the Kyiv Medical Institute of the Order of the Labor Red Banner.

He underwent clinical residency from 1963 to 1965 at the Department of Ear, Throat and Nose Diseases.

In 1969, he defended his candidate’s thesis, and in 1981 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “Surgical treatment of patients with post-traumatic stenosis of the larynx and trachea”.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

the first in otorhinolaryngology to apply circular resection of the stenotic part of the larynx and trachea with the formation of intertracheal and tracheolarynx anastomoses;

developed methods of surgical treatment of paralytic laryngeal stenoses by extra- and endolaryngeal ways;

one of the founders of laryngeal microendosurgery for paralytic stenoses;

created a classification of plastic operations on the larynx and trachea and methods of plastic surgery for the elimination of defects, atresias and stenoses of the larynx, trachea and cervical esophagus;

developed a clinical classification of rhinitis.

he was the first otolaryngologist to describe benign and malignant tumors localized in the ENT organs from minor salivary glands;

developed microsurgical operations on the vocal folds for tumors.

Implementation in clinical practice: 18 inventions related to restorative and plastic surgery of respiratory organs.

Publications: more than 250 scientific papers, including monographs, teaching manuals and methodical recommendations.

Public activity: laureate of All-Ukrainian song festivals, author of the Anthem of the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets and the Anthem of the Ukrainian Medical Society of Otorhinolaryngologists.

Membership in professional associations: member of the Association of otiatrists, otoneurosurgeons and otoneurologists of Ukraine, member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

Awards: Excellence in Health Care of the USSR (1973), Laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR (1979). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1997). Vyacheslav Didkovsky – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 1996, he graduated from the Ukrainian State Medical University named after Academician O.O. Bogomolets.

Repeatedly underwent training abroad in the specialty in Salzburg, Austria in 1998, 1999, 2008 and in Warsaw, Poland in 2009, 2010, 2015, including in microendoscopic ENT surgery, plastic rhinosurgery, audiology, endonasal and otolaryngology (NDI of Otolaryngology Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Cornell University of the USA, ENT Clinic of the University of Mainz, Germany).

In 2000, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic: “Vestibular dysfunction in sensorineural hearing loss (features of diagnosis and treatment approaches)”.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

head of the current student scientific circle of otorhinolaryngology

Scientific interests: urgent, conservative and operative treatment of diseases of the ear, throat, nose, larynx, neck and adjacent areas, endoscopic diagnosis and surgical treatment of head and neck pathology, aesthetic surgery of the face and neck.

Publications: 100 printed papers, including 8 abroad, co-author of the monograph “Differential diagnosis by symptoms in otorhinolaryngology” (2004, 2014) and the textbook “Otorhinolaryngology-Otolaryngology” (2009, 2011).

Public activity: takes an active part in the life of the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets, since 2003 he has been working as an assistant to the vice-rector for medical work, performing the duties of the head of the medical and consulting department. Since 2012, he has been working as the responsible secretary of the Probation Board “Special Issues of Surgery”, a member of the Commission on Bioethical Expertise and Research Ethics of the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets.

Membership in professional associations: since 2008, he is a member of the European Society of Rhinologists, and since 2005, a member of the board of the Ukrainian Society of Otorhinolaryngologists of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, a member of the Ukrainian Association of Otiatricians, Otoneurosurgeons and Otoneurologists.

Zhanna Tereschenko  – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 1998, she graduated from the O. O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

Graduated from postgraduate studies in 2003.

In 2004, she defended her thesis to obtain the scientific title of candidate of medical sciences, which was devoted to the issues of auditory and vestibular disorders in patients with systemic autoimmune diseases.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

urgent, conservative and operative treatment of diseases of the ear, throat, nose, larynx, neck and adjacent areas, endoscopic diagnosis and surgical treatment of pathology of the head and neck, aesthetic surgery of the face and neck.

Publications: more than 35 printed papers (co-authorship of 2 textbooks, one study guide and one monograph).

Membership in professional associations: member of the Ukrainian Society of Otorhinolaryngologists of Kyiv and Kyiv region.

Yuriy Shevchuk – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

ENT doctor of the highest category. In 1997, he graduated from the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2004, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic: “Chronic tonsillitis. Issues of pathogenesis and treatment”.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

currently heads the division of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology on the basis of the Kyiv City Clinical Children’s Hospital №2, and is a scientific and practical consultant of the children’s ENT department of this hospital; is responsible for the scientific work of the department. Priority scientific interests are such diseases of the ENT organs as chronic tonsillitis, adenoid vegetations, diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

Implementation in clinical practice: 1 patent

Publications: 47 printed papers.

In 2003, he graduated from the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 2005 to 2020, he annually completed an internship abroad in such disciplines as plastic surgery, rhinosurgery, otosurgery, head and neck surgery, and oncology. In 2017, “Endo Milano” – endoscopic surgery courses, Milan, Italy; “1-st FESS course Basic” – international master class on endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses, Kyiv. In 2018, “Endoscopic endonasal surgery course II” – an international workshop on endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses, Lviv; 2019 “Endoscopic endonasal surgery course III” – international master class on endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses, Dnipro.

In 2009, he defended his dissertation on the topic: “The state of auditory and vestibular function in patients with multiple sclerosis.”

The main directions of scientific and practical work: the study of disorders of auditory and vestibular functions in patients with multiple sclerosis. Videoendoscopic surgical treatment of the nose and paranasal sinuses, larynx, pharynx, as well as adjacent anatomical areas: Chronic polyposis sinusitis, curvature of the nasal septum, chronic tonsillitis, etc.

Implementation in clinical practice: 2 Ukrainian patents for a useful model.

Serhii Konovalov – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 2007, he graduated from the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 2009 to 2011, he studied and trained at Aristotle University (Greece).

In 2011-2012, he studied at a postgraduate course at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of O.O. Bogomolets.

He defended his dissertation on the topic: “The state of the auditory analyzer in patients with organic pathology of the main vessels of the head and neck before and after complex treatment.”

The main directions of scientific and practical work: issues of etiology, pathogenesis, treatment of patients with hearing impairment. Urgent, conservative and operative treatment of diseases of the ear, throat, nose, larynx, neck and adjacent areas, endoscopic diagnosis and surgical treatment of pathology of the head and neck, aesthetic surgery of the face and neck.

Implementation in clinical practice: the author of two patents for a useful model for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with sensorineural deafness and extravasal compression of the vertebral arteries.

Publications: more than 20 scientific papers, including methodical recommendations.

Anna Zadorozhna – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 2000, she graduated from the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2007, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Pathogenetic kinship of chronic inflammatory processes of the mucous membranes of the nose and bronchi in liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.”

The main directions of scientific and practical work: research of diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Treatment of such diseases as acute and chronic tonsillitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, mycetoma of the maxillary sinus, acute and chronic ear diseases.

Publications: more than 40 scientific papers.

Awards: Honorary Diploma from the Mayor of Kyiv for significant labor contributions and high professionalism.

Constantly improving, he annually takes advanced training courses at the State Institution “Institute of Otolaryngology named after prof. O.S. Kolomiichenko” from such areas as plastic surgery, endoscopic rhinosurgery. In 2005-2011, he completed an internship abroad in such disciplines as plastic surgery, rhinosurgery, otosurgery, head and neck surgery, and oncology.

In 2004, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic “Traumatic rupture of the tympanic membrane (pathogenesis, clinic, treatment)”.

The main directions of scientific and practical work: the study of the disorder of auditory and vestibular functions in patients with diseases of the auditory analyzer, as well as the restoration of respiratory function in the pathology of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.

Lilia Krynichko – Assistant of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 1990, she graduated from the Ternopil State Medical Institute.

She underwent multiple professional development at well-known clinics in Europe. During 2008-2009, she interned several times in a leading oncology clinic in Israel, in 2009 she completed an internship in otosurgery in Germany. In 2010, she completed an internship at a plastic surgery clinic in Italy.

She defended her dissertation in 2003, which was devoted to the role of dysfunction of the nasal valve in the occurrence and course of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

Main directions of scientific and practical work: plastic surgery and endoscopic rhinosurgery. Performs such operations as rhinoplasty, septoplasty, polypotomy, operations on paranasal sinuses, operations to remove tumors of the nasal cavity.

In 2007, she defended her PhD thesis on “Videoendoscopic surgical interventions in previously operated patients with altered architecture of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.”

The main directions of scientific and practical work: urgent, conservative and operative treatment of diseases of the ear, throat, nose, larynx, neck and adjacent areas, endoscopic diagnosis and surgical treatment of pathology of the head and neck, aesthetic surgery of the face and neck.

Implementation in clinical practice: the author of 2 patents of Ukraine.

In 2019, he defended his dissertation work for obtaining the scientific degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic “The state of the auditory system in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis.”

The main directions of scientific and practical work: studies hearing impairments of various genesis and improvement of methods of early diagnosis and treatment of various variants of this pathology.

Publications: 35 scientific papers.

Performs the duties of the responsible secretary of the Admissions Committee of NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets.

She received her PhD degree at the Department of Otolaryngology of the Warsaw Medical University.

Victor Yushchenko  – Assistant of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 2003, he graduated from O.O. Bogomolets.

In 2004, he completed an internship at the Ukrainian Medical and Stomatological Academy in endoscopic functional rhinosurgery. In 2005, studies at the Institute of Otolaryngology named after O.S. Kolomiychenko from microsurgery of the ear and otoneurosurgery. In 2014, studying at the National Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P.L. Shupyka from facial plastic surgery.

He defended his dissertation on the topic: “Polypous rhinosinusitis: clinical and morphological manifestations, pathogenetic approaches to treatment.”

Since 2019, she has been working on a dissertation on the topic “Clinical and immunological features of the course of chronic rhinosinusitis in patients with sensitization to Staphylococcus aureus endotoxin.”

Inna Gogunska – Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences..

She graduated with honors from the medical faculty of the Zaporizhia Medical Institute.

In 2007-2009, she studied at a clinical residency.

She completed an internship in clinics in Austria, Germany, and the USA.

In 2002, she defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic “Effectiveness of inhaled corticosteroids in the treatment of exacerbations of bronchial asthma”;

In 2011 thesis for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic “Specific immunotherapy of patients with allergic rhinitis with combined sensitization to household and pollen allergens.”

In 2012, she was awarded the academic title of senior researcher.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

– treatment of allergic diseases of the upper respiratory tract.

– scientific activity in the field of allergology, immunology, otorhinolaryngology.

– specific immunotherapy in patients with allergic rhinitis with combined sensitization to household and pollen allergens depending on the state of the immune system.

Introduction into clinical practice: the introduction of numerous technologies for the detection and treatment of perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, and insect allergies with allergens among allergists, otolaryngologists, general practitioners, dentists (methods of screening for allergic diseases, diagnosis of drug allergies), which significantly improved the early detection of allergic diseases diseases, thereby creating an opportunity for specific immunotherapy with allergens.

Membership in professional associations: Vice-President of the Association of Allergists of Ukraine, member of the European Respiratory Society, member of the European Asthma and Allergy Association.

Awards: Honored doctor of Ukraine, in 2012 she was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Certificates of honor of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Board of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Order of Merit III (2018).
