- History of the club
The student scientific group of the Department of Physiology has been working since the 1920s. Pupils of the club continue to work fruitfully at the theoretical and clinical departments of NMU, as well as in the laboratories of leading research institutions in Kyiv. Many of them headed departments and other research groups.
- Club topics
The work of the club is conducted in two directions: theoretical and experimental. Theoretical part covers the main current areas of modern science (biophysics, biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, cardiology, gastroenterology, etc.). Experimental part includes conducting research in the laboratories of the department and leading research institutions in Kyiv. Scientific interests of the experimental direction are connected with research of contractile activity of isolated cardiomyocytes, cellular and molecular mechanisms of regulation of activity of heart and vessels, function and regulation of activity of smooth muscle cells of digestive system, search of the new biologically active substances protecting myocardial function vascular tone, smooth muscle function.
