The Dental therapy Department of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University is located in the Dental Medical Center of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. The department is a base on which, in addition to theoretical knowledge, students and clinical residents have the opportunity to gain experience in the practical work of a dentist-therapist, as dental care is provided to patients with pathology of the hard tissues of the teeth, endodontics, periodontal tissues, and oral mucosa. We provide dental care to the population of Kyiv and all regions of Ukraine.
Treatment and consultation work is carried out in 7 clinical offices located on the 2nd-4th floors of the DMC of NMU.
The healing traditions of the department are closely intertwined with its history. Professor Danylevskyi M.F. stood at the origins of the department. The medical activity was made of professors L.O. Khomenko, A.M. Politun, associate professors L.F. Sidelnikova, A.M. Khotsyanovskyi and other employees of the department in previous years. The traditions of the department have always been dental care for the patient, constant striving to find the right solution in the diagnostic process and treatment. In today’s difficult conditions of existence of the entire health care system in the country, the staff of the department continues these traditions.
The teaching staff of the department takes an active part in the consulting and treatment work on the basis of the Dental Medical Center of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. With the help of modern medical and diagnostic equipment, which is also used in the educational process, a wide range of dental manipulations is performed.
The teachers of the department provide medical assistance to patients in the department of Dental therapy and the department of periodontology and oral mucosa diseases.
During the year, the teachers of the department provide consultative and therapeutic assistance to more than 10,000 patients, which makes it possible to directly involve students in the examination and treatment of patients, to maintain a high practical level of the educational process.
A large number of patients with oral mucosa diseases constantly turn to the Dental Medical Center of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. Such a number of patients is due to the high qualification of working employees.
Employees of the department proposed and put into practice many of the latest scientific developments in the treatment of diseases of the hard tissues of the teeth, endodontics, periodontal tissues, and the oral mucosa diseases.
Our specialists participate in world and European congresses, which contributes to the continuous updating of diagnostic and treatment tactics, taking into account world experience and the latest accepted recommendations; exchange of scientific periodicals and publications; direct exchange of achieved results with dental centers around the world.
The staff of the department, rich in its traditions, famous scientist dentists and brilliant teachers, continues its active and fruitful activity in improving and optimising the educational process for the training of young doctors, the development of modern dental technologies and the implementation of modern achievements of medical science in the practice of health care of the population of Ukraine.
