2024/2025 Academic Year
On October 10, 2024, the first organizational meeting of the Student’s Scientific Club was held at the Department of Organization and Economy of Pharmacy, chaired by the Head of the department, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Кostyantyn Kosyachenko. He welcomed all attendees and wished them fruitful work in the new academic year. At the SSC meeting, the work plan for the 2024/2025 academic year was approved, which includes a series of events aimed at promoting student’s science and collaborating with stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, a monitor for the SSC was elected
The supervisor of the Student’s Scientific Club, Teaching assistant, PhD Nataliia Sakhnatska, introduced all attendees to the specifics of the final qualification work, its structure, and the main stages of its implementation. The members of the SSC reviewed the Regulation “On the Procedure for the Preparation and Defense of Master’s Theses at the Bogomolets National Medical University” and acquired fundamental knowledge regarding academic integrity in scientific activities. Students actively participated in the discussion and received comprehensive answers to their questions
Events
On September 28, 2023, supervisor of the Student’s Scientific Club, Teaching assistant Nataliia Sakhnatska conducted a mini-lecture on the topic “How to Start Scientific Research.” Additionally, an interactive quiz game was organized for the members of the society in honor of World Pharmacists Day.
On May 25, 2023, members of the Student’s Scientific Club from the Department visited the facilities of the leading Ukrainian pharmaceutical company “Farmak.” Future pharmacists familiarized themselves with the history and structure of the enterprise, took an informative tour of one of the drug production workshops, observed how modern equipment operates, and learned about current production requirements. The students had the opportunity to visit laboratories where research is conducted on the development of new drugs and quality control of medicines.
In addition, the students were able to listen to an informative lecture from the company’s HR specialist on the topic “How to Create an Effective Resume,” as well as learn about employment opportunities within the company and received comprehensive answers to their questions.
On May 15, 2023, a meeting of the student scientific club at the department was held on the topic: “How to Open Your Own Pharmacy: Some Legal Advice.” The invited speaker was candidate of legal sciences Ivan Demchenko, an associate professor of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Medical Law at Bogomolets National Medical University. He presented the basic aspects of regulatory frameworks for the pharmaceutical business and shared practical advice on starting a business in the pharmaceutical sector. Students actively participated in the discussion and received answers to all their questions.
Organized by the Kysil Student Scientific Society, the annual scientific conference “April Scientific Session 2023” took place. Eleven members of the Student’s Scientific Club prepared research studies and presented them with distinction in the “Organization and Economics in Pharmacy” section. All conference participants were awarded certificates of participation. The jury highly appreciated the preparation and quality of the works of all participants and selected the winners of the section.

The results of the students’ research were published in the professional journal “Ukrainian Scientific Medical Youth Journal”.

As part of the activities of the student scientific society at the department, an online meeting took place on February 16, 2023, with pharmaceutical faculty graduate Viktoriia Kopachovets. She shared information with students about the steps for diploma recognition for pharmacists in Poland, employment opportunities, and career growth for pharmacists from Ukraine, as well as the differences in the healthcare systems of Ukraine and Poland. Students actively participated in the discussion, particularly regarding opportunities for internships abroad and academic mobility.
Members of the student scientific society successfully completed the course “With Experience into the Future” organized by the pharmaceutical company “Arterium.” The educational project, led by the company’s top specialists, ran from November 4 to December 23, 2022, and included lectures on the following topics:

- Advice to Future Colleagues: How to Become an Attractive Candidate

Upon completion of the course, all participants received a certificate confirming their participation in the program.

On October 15, 2022, a solemn award ceremony for the laureates of the “Young Scientist of the Year” competition, organized by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, took place. Based on the evaluations of the professional jury and a nationwide online voting, the student scientific society at the department won in the “Scientific Society” nomination.
On May 31, 2022, an online meeting was held with Olena Skora, the communications and corporate brand development manager of the pharmaceutical company “Teva.” The speaker shared key aspects of PR policy and storytelling in the pharmaceutical sector, addressed important issues related to the formation of the company’s corporate brand, and provided many interesting tips for future professionals.
On May 27, 2022, a webinar was held on the topic “The ‘Affordable Medicines’ Program: What Is Its Essence and Why Does the National Health Service of Ukraine Pay for It?” The invited speaker was Tetyana Korzhenivska, an expert from the Ukrainian Health Center and a medical lawyer, who shared important aspects of the NHSU’s activities and the nuances of implementing the “Affordable Medicines” reimbursement program with the students. The speaker addressed many questions regarding the financing of Ukraine’s healthcare system and explained the mechanism for reimbursing costs for free medicines for the population, particularly during the state of martial law.
During the 2020-2021 academic year, at the initiative of the Department of Organization and Economy of Pharmacy, and with the support of “Halychpharm,” a series of lectures for the educational project “With Experience into the Future” was launched. Given the quarantine restrictions, the lectures were held online. Specialists from the training and development department of “Halychpharm” conducted six lectures according to a previously agreed schedule, which not only addressed aspects of the pharmaceutical field but also aimed at developing basic communication skills for the effective adaptation of future specialists in society. Upon successfully completing all the lectures of the educational program, participants received certificates of participation.
On December 21, 2021, a series of lectures was held in the lecture hall of the pharmaceutical building as part of the “School of Successful Master’s Students” project organized by the Society of Young Scientists and Specialists. The student scientific societies from the Departments of Pharmaceutical and Industrial Drug Technology and Organization and Economy of Pharmacy participated in organizing the event. The primary audience targeted by this event consisted of fifth-year students of the pharmaceutical faculty who were working on their final master’s thesis in their respective disciplines.
On December 17, 2021, a meeting of the student scientific society at the department was held, during which participants received answers to important questions for novice researchers regarding the formation of the goals and objectives of scientific research. The lecture took place in the format of a live dialogue with the students. The speaker, Teaching assistant Nataliia Sakhnațka, provided specific examples to illustrate the structure of a scientific paper and explained the significance of each important element of the research.
On November 29, 2021, our students had the opportunity to witness firsthand how all stages of the technological process of insulin production are carried out— from the substance to the finished medicinal product— at the domestic pharmaceutical enterprises “Indar.” A pleasant bonus was a conversation with the head of the human resources department regarding the employment opportunities that the factory offers to students of the pharmaceutical faculty. We thank the teachers of the Department of Organization and Economy of Pharmacy and curators of faculty for organizing this event.
On November 26, 2021, our society members visited the facilities of the pharmaceutical company “Biopharma Plasma” in Bila Tserkva, which specializes in the production of medicines from human blood plasma. In addition to the visit to the enterprise, the students also explored the Oleksandriia Dendropark, where they had the opportunity to stroll through the autumn park and take many beautiful photos.
On October 20, 2021, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Student Association (UPSA) to establish collaboration among the talented pharmaceutical community of students. Our society members received interesting information about the prospects for cooperation and the possibilities of creating a local representation of UPSA in Kyiv. The association’s president, Kateryna Khmilevska, shared the benefits of collaboration with everyone present and invited all active members to work on joint projects.
