The Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry of Postgraduate Education was created in 2023 by the decision of the Academic Council of Bogomolets National Medical University dated January 25, 2023 (protocol No. 6) and Order No. 192-IPE dated March 10, 2023.

The department provides training at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:
Undergraduate stage: internship (specialty “Ophthalmology”),
Postgraduate stage and continuous professional development:
- specialization (specialties “Ophthalmology”, “Pediatric ophthalmology”, “Optometry”),
- thematic improvement cycles,
- trainings on acquiring practical skills,
- internship cycles.
