The Department of Emergency Medicine and Tactical Medicine lays the foundation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the organization and carrying out of medical evacuation, sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures, as well as provisions of medical assistance during natural and man-made emergencies and combat operations.

Disciplines to be taught by the Department:  “BASICS OF POPULATION AND TROOPS’ MEDICAL PROVISIONS ORGANIZATION” – FOR 2^nd YEAR STUDENTS OF MEDICAL, DENTAL AND MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL FACULTIES  “PREMEDICAL AID IN EMERGENCIES” – FOR 2^nd YEAR STUDENTS OF MEDICAL, DENTAL AND MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL FACULTIES     “CIVIL PROTECTION” – FOR 4^th YEAR STUDENTS OF PHARMACEUTICAL FACULTY INCLUDING STUDENTS TRAINING ACCODRING TO THE PROGRAM TECHNOLOGIES OF PERFUMERY AND COSMETOLOGY MEANS “CIVIL PROTECTION” – FOR 4^th YEAR STUDENTS OF MEDICAL FACULTIES AND 5^th YAER STUDENTS OF DENTAL FACULTY  “BASICS OF POPULATION AND TROOPS’ MEDICAL PROVISIONS” – FOR 4^th YEAR STUDENTS OF MEDICAL FACULTIES

“MEDICINE AND PSYCHOLOGY OF EMERGENCIES” – FOR 5^th YEAR STUDENTS OF MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL FACULTY.    ELECTIVE COURSES “GENERAL MILITARY TRAINING” and “MILITARY TOXICOLOGY AND RADIOLOGY”.

 Scientific-research activity of the Department:

– working out of modern medical and non-medical means and measures for protection from CBRN agents and substantiation of rules and regulations for their use in emergencies’ conditions;

– researches of medical and  ecological, ethical issues of  emergencies;

– social, technical, technological and natural risks assessment in emergencies;

– working out of methods and algorithms of risk analysis in emergencies.

Students, in the process of training at the Department of Emergency Medicine and Tactical Medicine, master the following:

– bases of chemical and radiation control in emergencies and during military operations;

– principles of evacuation measures providing in emergencies;

– first aid measures providing to wounded by sanitary instructors in Ukraine and according to NATO standards;

– basics of population and troops medical provision organization as a component of population medical provision State system, taking into account the main provisions of the Civil Protection Code, the Law about Emergency Medical Aid, the Military Doctrine of Ukraine and Military Medical Doctrine of Ukraine;

– procedure of medical evacuation measures organization for civil population and injured military men depending upon the level and nature of sanitary losses.

During training at the Department students are provided with possibility to master elective courses “General Military Training” and “Military Toxicology and Radiology” as the basis for preparation of reserve officers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Students’ scientific club

The main directions of department  students’ scientific club’s sientific-research work are:

 – working out of modern medical and non-medical means and measures for protection from CBRN agents and substantiation of rules and regulations for their use in emergencies’ conditions;

– researches in the area of tactical medicine, ecology and ethical issues in emergencies;

– social, technical, technological and natural risks assessment in emergencies;

– working out of methods and algorithms of risk analysis in emergencies;

– optimization of emergency response algorithms.

Taking part in Department Students’ Scientific Club’s activities students acquires additional competencies necessary for:

– correct solutions in critical situations during emergencies;

– emergencies’ prevention measures implementation;

– deploying of specialized forces and facilities for rescue works conducting, localization and liquidation of emergencies’ consequences;

– anticrisis management in State sector and at the level of local executive authorities, enterprises and organizations regardless their ownership.
