Training and methodological work
Methodical work – is the main direction of activity of the Department of Phthisiology and Pulmonology in the preparation of today’s highly qualified medical personnel, based on the principles of the Bologna Declaration and the implementation of European standards for the training of young specialists.
Educational and methodical work of the department provides for the educational process for students of health 1.2, 3, 4, medico-psychological, dental and medical faculties Faculty of training for the armed forces of Ukraine.
The basis of this work consists of classical medical canons development of medical case containing: clinical training of students with the participation of the patient, mastery of physical techniques and their combination with laboratory and instrumental methods of examination of the patient, the formation of clinical thinking for a diagnosis on the basis of the analysis of the clinical manifestations of a comprehensive survey of the disease and data as well as the education of ethical and deontological principles of a doctor.
According to the credit-module system of organization of educational process of the Department of Phthisiology and Pulmonology programs have been developed, as well as the working program “Phthisiology” discipline for the specialty “Medicine”, “Pediatrics”, “Medical-preventive work”, “Medical Psychology”, “Dentistry” for the elective course “Actual problems of tuberculosis and pulmonology” (5 and 6th course). Since 2014 TB resumed teaching for students 6th year medical and pediatric departments.
Test control at PMC
The types of learning activities students are lectures, practical classes, independent work of students, the organization of which a significant part must consult teachers.
Topics of lectures disclose problematic issues relevant sections of the TB and read using multimedia technology. According to the method of presentation of educational material, they are problematic, lectures visualization and lectures, discussions.
In practical classes students learn methods of detection and diagnosis of tuberculosis, different clinical forms of the disease, the highest standards of treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, diagnosis of emergency conditions (hemoptysis, pulmonary hemorrhage, spontaneous pneumothorax), in need of emergency assistance. Considerable attention is paid to dangerous components of modern TB – resistant TB and HIV combination.
Independent work of students provides for Supervision of the patient, followed by writing and protection of medical history and clinical examination of individual patients with various forms of pulmonary tuberculosis, writing abstracts.
Upon completion of the study of TB rate in all departments held a final module control is to assess the level of assimilation of discipline in the form of a computer test control.
The decision of situational problems in the classroom
For methodological support of the educational process at the department issued natsionalnsq textbook “Phthisiology” with current data and WHO recommendations on tuberculosis, issued guidelines for independent work of students in preparation for the practical lessons and guidelines for teachers.
For the control of the initial and final level of students’ knowledge, the final module control test items developed objectives for each faculty separately.
Since 2007 at the Department of Tuberculosis and Pulmonology introduced Russian and English teaching of the subject, all the training materials prepared in Russian and English languages.
Unification of teaching “Phthisiology”, exchange of experience, the formation of responsibility of young teachers are achieved through open sessions and workshops visit the head of department, professors, assistant professors and their subsequent analysis of and discussion on the teaching faculty meeting.
The chair is a reference among similar departments HEMS Ukraine. Annually Department organizes educational and methodical meeting of heads of departments of TB, who are dealing with issues and problems of integration and optimization of teaching work in accordance with the requirements of the credit-module system of organization of educational process.
