The publication reveals the etiology, pathogenesis, basic methods of diagnosis and stage treatment of acute surgical pathology of abdominal organs, their complications, chest injuries, closed and open abdominal injuries, traumatic injuries of extremities, burns, surgical infection.

The peculiarities of diagnostics and the first medical help in the presence of the compartment syndrome and similar conditions are separately disclosed. Information is provided on the features of diagnostics and medical care that will be helpful in the implementation of first aid in the presence of injuries.

Clinical, laboratory, instrumental, morphological and immunological studies made it possible to formulate the definition of toxic and biliary sepsis syndrome on the basis of developing criteria for its manifestation, degree of severity of multiple organ dysfunction in order to create pathogenesis ground , integrated and systematic approach to the phased provision of medical assistance to the patients. Designed diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm allowed reducing the incidence rate of complications and postoperative mortality by fifty percent.

Polyurethane bioactive antimicrobial plaster “ Bioderm” (Patent of Ukraine No. 68404, 16/8/04 ) was c reated from our participation in the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine . A method for treating venous ulcers (patent No.15369 ) was developed. The technique of ultrasonography research of venous system in the area of ​​trophic ulcers due to plaster “ Bioderm” (patent No.27,851 ) was improved.

Also we improved “ Venekstraktor” (Patent of Ukraine No.15367 ).

Technology of electric welding of biological tissues in surgical treatment of thyroid diseases was introduced for the first time.

They have developed tools for electric welding during operations on thyroid gland (patents of Ukraine ).
