VALENTYNA MINARCHENKO

Head of the Department, Doctor of biological sciences, Professor

 

In 1982–1985, she studied at the graduate school of the M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany  of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and after graduation she worked as a junior researcher at the Department of Systematics and Floristics of Vascular Plants, a researcher, a senior researcher and Head of the Botanical Resource Science Laboratory.

In  2012, she defended her doctoral dissertation “Medicinal plant resources of Ukraine: differentiation, dynamics, strategy for optimization of use and preservation”.

She participated in the development of the Law of Ukraine “On the Plant World” (1999) and a number of subordinate legal acts in the field of accounting, regulation of the use and preservation of plant resources of Ukraine.

The main directions of scientific and practical work:

She has been working at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany since 2002 (part-time). Since 2013, she has been the Head of the Pharmacognosy and Botany Department, doctor of biological sciences, professor. The main direction of research is the diversity, use and resources of medicinal plants.

Publications:

Author and co-author of 220 scientific publications, including 12 monographs, two textbooks, 14 teaching aids. Main works: “Atlas of medicinal plants of Ukraine” (2002), “Medicinal vascular plants of Ukraine (medical and resource value)” (2005), “National atlas of Ukraine” (2007), “Resource science. ULIANA KARPIUK

Uliana Karpiuk was born in 1983, graduated from the National Pharmaceutical University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2005, and received a full higher education majoring in “Pharmacy” and qualified as a pharmacist.

In 2006, she entered postgraduate studies at the Department of Chemistry of Natural Compounds of the National Pharmaceutical University. In 2009, Uliana Volodymyrivna defended her dissertation for the degree of candidate of pharmaceutical sciences on the topic ” Phytochemical study of Glycine hispida’s commercial species and creation of drug substances on its basis ” in the specialty 15.00.02 – pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy. In 2018, she received the academic title of associate professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany of Bogomolets National Medical University.

Uliana Karpiuk defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the specialty 15.00.02 – pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy on the topic “Theoretical and practical justification of the creation, standardization, production of herbal medicines with the hemostatic and hypoglycemic action” in 2018. In 2020, she received the academic title of professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany of Bogomolets National Medical University.

Publications: the author of 140 scientific publications: 2 training manuals with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 2 training manuals in English, 2 methodological recommendations, 7 patents, 13 scientific articles in periodicals included in the scientific and metric databases Scopus and Web of Science.

OKSANA YEMELIANOVA

In 1993, she graduated with honors from the Chernivtsi Medical Institute, majoring in “Medical business”. From 2004 to 2007, she studied at the graduate school of the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv. In 2007, she defended her dissertation on the topic: “Anticonvulsant activity of new carbamate derivatives” to obtain the scientific degree of candidate of medical sciences, majoring in “pharmacology”.

Publications: 55 scientific works have been published. She is a co-author of training manuals, including “Practical course on the specialization “Medicinal plants and phytotherapy”, “Practical course on pharmaceutical botany. Part I. Morphology and anatomy of plants”, “Laboratory workshop on pharmacognosy”, methodical recommendations and laboratory journals for students of pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical botany, resource science of medicinal plants.

Makhinya Larisa Mykolaiyvna graduated with honors from the Faculty of Biology of The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy majoring in “Biology”, qualification biologist, ecologist, teacher of biology and ecology, specialization “Botany” in 2002.

In 2013 defended her dissertation on the topic: “Biological, ecological, coenotic and resource features of the species Bidens L. of the Dnipro valley (within the forest-steppe of Ukraine)” for the degree of candidate of biological sciences, specialty 03.00.05 – botany.

Ph.D. of pharmaceutical sciences (since 2013), associate professor (since 2021).

Has published 85 scientific works. Among them, he is the co-author of the textbook “Medical Botany” and 3 textbooks, 2 monographs, methodological recommendations and laboratory journals for students in pharmaceutical botany, pharmacognosy, resource science of medicinal plants (50 works were published after the defense, of which 10 scientific articles were published in specialized scientific publications , of which there are 3 articles in English included in the list of scientometric databases Web of Science and Scopus). In 1984 graduated from the biological faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in the specialty “Biology”, qualified biologist-botanist, teacher of biology and chemistry.

In 2015 defended her PhD dissertation on the topic: “Pharmacognostic study of Japanese sophora buds (Sophora japonica L.)” 15.00.02 – pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy.

Works as an associate professor of the department from 01.09.16

Publications: has published 59 scientific works. 34 works were published after the defence, including 5 scientific articles in specialized domestic scientific publications and 4 articles in foreign journals (3 of them are included in the scientific-metric database Scopus and 1 in the Web of Science). He is the co-author of 17 textbooks, 4 of them are in English for foreign students on pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical botany, the 1 monograph and the 1 textbook with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In 2009, Alina Yuriivna graduated with honors from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Bogomolets National Medical University and entered into the “Golden Book of Honor” of the university. In 2011, she received her second higher education majoring in “Economics of Enterprise” and received a diploma with honors from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.

In 2010, she obtained the qualification “Master of Pharmacy” (diploma with honors). After completing full-time post-graduate studies in 2015, she obtained a diploma of Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Doctor of Philosophy) with the specialty 15.00.02 – “Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy” at the Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi. Dissertation topic: “Pharmacognostic study of biologically active substances of Inula helenium and Inula Britannica and obtaining other substances on their basis” (supervisor – Professor N.P. Maksyutina).

2013 – 2019 – assistant professor of the department of pharmacognosy and botany of the Bogomolets National Medical University.

From 2019 to the present, she is an associate professor of the department of pharmacognosy and botany.

Since January 2021, she is an expert on accreditation of educational programs of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

Vitalii Pidchenko

Associate Professor of the Department, PhD (PharmSc), Associate    Professor 

 

He graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 2010 and obtained a diploma with honors of higher education in the “pharmacy” specialty. From 2010 to 2011 he worked at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany of the Bogomolets National Medical University in the position of senior laboratory assistant. In 2011, he entered postgraduate studies at the Bogomolets National Medical University, specialty 14.03.05 “pharmacology”. Since December 2014, he has been working at the Bogomolets National Medical University in the position of assistant of the department, and since 2019 – in the position of associate professor of the department of pharmacognosy and botany.

He defended his dissertation on the topic: “Experimental justification of immunomodulating activity and safety of biomass powder of fungus Ganoderma lucidum (Curt.:Fr.) P.Karst.” in 2017.

He is PhD (Pharmaceutical sciences) since 2017, and an associate professor since 2021. The level of English is B2 (Aptis British Council).

Main directions of scientific and practical work:

Organization of the educational process using distance forms of education. Scientific interests are in the study of the influence of biologically active substances isolated from basidial fungi on various systems of the human body with the aim of creating new medicines.

He is the author of more than 30 international and Ukrainian scientific works, including 5 articles in English, included in the Scopus databases. Pidchenko V.T. has 3 patents of Ukraine for a useful model, is a co-author of 8 educational and methodological manuals, and 1 monograph, participated in scientific conferences, including in EU countries (Poland, Austria). IRYNA TYMCHENKO

In 1989 graduated from the National Tarasa Shevchenko University (Kyiv) for the specialty «Zoology and botany». From 1989 to 1992 postgraduate studying at M. G. Kholodny Institute of Botany, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. From 1992 to the present, he has been working in the laboratory of protection of phytodiversity and plant resources of the M. G. Kholodny Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, having passed the path from an engineer to a senior researcher. In 1996, she defended her thesis for the degree of РhD (Botany). The thesis topic is «The structure of coenopopulations of species of the tribe Neottieae Lindl. (Orchidaceae Juss) of the Ukrainian flora and the trends of its change in the conditions of synanthropization”. In 2006, she received the scientific title of senior researcher.

The main directions of scientific and practical work.

The main directions of scientific and practical work are the study of medicinal plant species of the Ukrainian flora: their diversity and distribution, assessment of the state and accounting of natural plant resources, elaboration of recommendations for the rational use of resources of wild medicinal plants of Ukraine.
