MEETING OF NMU ADMINISTRATION WITH DELEGATION OF THE EMBASSY OF THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT IN UKRAINE

 

On February 24, 2021 in the conference hall of the Rector’s Office a working meeting of the NMU administration took place – Rector of NMU, Professor Iurii Kuchyn, First Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations ​​and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Kaniura, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor Sergii Zemskov, Acting  Head of the International Relations Department Ivanna  Sakhanda and the Head of the Press Center Tetiana  Mykhailenko met  with the delegation of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ukraine consisting of: H.E Ayman Ahmed Mokhtar Elgammal, the Ambassador of Egypt to Ukraine,  Ms. Enas Taha, Diplomat and Third Secretary of the Embassy and Mr. Bort Viktor, Translator from the Embassy.

Warmly greeting the guests, Iurii Kuchyn briefly told about the history of NMU, emphasizing its popularity among Egyptian students, where 168 citizens of the Arab Republic of Egypt are currently studying. “Good working contacts have been established with Egyptian students and the Egyptian diaspora, the Egyptian House, which make it possible to resolve all urgent issues,” Rector of NMU said.  He also thanked the representatives of the Embassy for the prompt and effective assistance in resolving a number of working issues that arise in the process of training of Egyptian students at NMU.

In turn, H.E Ayman Ahmed Mokhtar Elgammal, the Ambassador of Egypt to Ukraine thanked for the hospitality, expressed his country’s interest in increasing the number of students at NMU and, discussing a number of issues of mutual interest, offered assistance in establishing cooperation between NMU and Cairo University.  After a short discussion, the parties decided to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Bogomolets NMU and Cairo University, which will give a new impetus to the international exchange of students and teachers and improve their professional level.

The meeting ended with a traditional exchange of souvenirs and a joint photo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNIVERSITY MET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE DDAD INFORMATION CENTER (GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE OFFICE)

On February 12, 2021 in the conference hall of the administrative building a working meeting of the NMU leadership took place. Rector of NMU, Professor Iurii Kuchyn, First Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations ​​and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor Sergii Zemskov, Acting  Head of the International Relations Department Ivanna  Sakhanda and the Head of the Press Center Tetiana  Mykhailenko met with the delegation of the DAAD Information Center in Kyiv – Dr. Gisela Zimmermann – Head of the DAAD Information Center in Kyiv  and Dr. Oksana Schwajka who is responsible for working with  former DAAD fellows, projects, contact with universities, German studies

Iurii Kuchyn acquainted the guests with the history of the University, which will celebrate its 180th anniversary this year, stressed the importance of international cooperation of NMU and, in this context, called the meeting with representatives of the DAAD Information Center important because its results can be productive in the future.  The Rector of NMU gave the floor to Dr. Gisela Zimmerman, who spoke about the main purpose of the DAAD Information Center, a branch of which she heads in Kyiv, and expressed interest and readiness for further cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of future cooperation, including the signing of a bilateral Memorandum that will facilitate international exchanges of students and scientists, as well as the formation of the European educational and scientific space.

The meeting, which took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, ended with the exchange of souvenirs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MEETING OF NMU LEADERSHIP WITH COUNSELOR OF THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND IN UKRAINE

 

On December 17, 2020 in the conference hall of the administrative building of Bogomolets National Medical University a meeting of NMU leadership with polish delegation took place. Administration of  Bogomolets National Medical University was represented by the Rector, Professor Iurii Kuchyn, First Vice-rector for Scientific and Pedagogical work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations ​​and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific- Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Kanyura, Acting  Head of the International Relations Department Ivanna  Sakhanda.  From the polish part Deputy Head of the Polish Medical Society in Ukraine named after Prof. A. S. Svintsitskyi Halyna Kozynkevych, Coordinator of the Center for Polish-Ukrainian Science and Culture T.P. Mykhaylenko with Counselor of the Consular and Polonia Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv Jacek Goclowski were present.

During the meeting they discussed the continuation of fruitful cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in the field of higher medical education, improvement of professional communication between Ukrainian and Polish scientific and pedagogical specialists and students.

Rector, Professor Iurii Kuchyn informed the guest that the Polish partners of Bogomolets National Medical University today are: Warsaw Medical University (Warsaw), Higher School of Business – Luis National University (Nowy Sacz), Jagiellonian University Medical College (Krakow), Medical University of Bialystok (Bialystok), Academic Sports Association of Higher Education (Czestochowa), Jan Dlugosz University (Czestochowa).  “In 2019, teachers, staff, students and graduate students of Bogomolets NMU, which is about 50 people, visited Poland for professional exchange.  This past year is not typical for the whole world due to the coronavirus pandemic, and if it were not for these force majeure circumstances, it is certain that the quantitative indicators of academic mobility between our University and Polish Medical Universities this year would be much higher than last year” added Rector.

Then it was about perpetuating the memory of professor, doctor of medical sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, head of the Department of Internal Medicine of the dental faculty of Bogomolets National Medical University, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Practitioner”, member of the editorial board  medical publications by Anatoliy Stanislavovych Svintsitskyi (biography).

 

“Therefore, – continued Professor Iurii Kuchyn, – a memorial plaque in honor of Professor A.S. Svintsitskyi will be installed on this building.  The NMU administration will send a corresponding appeal to the Kyiv City State Administration”.  A memorial plaque is scheduled to be installed in the first half of 2021.

In turn, Jacek Goclowski noted that the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine will sincerely support this initiative, and its representatives will definitely take part in the unveiling of a memorial plaque to Professor A.S. Svintsitskyi.

Traditionally, the meeting, which took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, ended with the exchange of souvenirs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE DELEGATION OF THE EMBASSY OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN WAS AT THE UNIVERSITY

A delegation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, consisting of Ambassador H.E. Manouchehr Moradi and Third Secretary and Consul Mahnaz Kazemi paid a working visit to the NMU.  The University was represented by the Rector of NMU, Professor Iurii Kuchyn, First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Postgraduate Education, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Kaniura, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor Sergii Zemskov.

The main topic of the talks is the expansion of cooperation in the direction of exchange of teachers and students in the scientific sphere.  Particular attention was paid to the living and studying conditions of Iranian students in NMU.  Today, more than three hundred Iranians study at the school.  And this number may grow, both sides have expressed interest in this.  Further steps of cooperation are outlined.  In particular, it was agreed that the Embassy of Iran and the NMU have appointed representatives whose task will be to address current issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MEETING OF THE LEADERS OF THE UNIVERSITY WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF PIECE AND INTERNATIONAL ADVISER OF THE UNESCO ASSOCIATED SCHOOLS NETWORK

On September 4, 2020, the meeting of the leaders of Bogomolets NMU – Rector of the University, Professor Iurii Kuchyn, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor Serhii Zemskov with the Ambassador of Peace and International Adviser of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network, Dr. Jorge Herrera Ramos took place.  Dr. Ramos is in Kyiv on a working visit on the organization of the Congress of Neurosurgery and Neurology, which brings together prominent modern doctors in the field of neurology.

The Intercontinental Congress of Neurosurgery and Neurology will be held in Geneva (Switzerland) from October 26 to November 6, 2020.  At the meeting with the leaders of NMU, Dr. Ramos said that he invites professors, teachers, interns and students of the University to participate in the Intercontinental Congress.  He also presented the Rector of NMU, Professor Iurii Kuchyn an official certificate of appreciation from UNESCO in recognition of strengthening education and promotion of communication between teachers and students, as well as for professional level, prestige in the educational, academic field and high human qualities.

The meeting was held in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.  The guest visited the University Museum with interest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AN INTERNATIONAL MEETING WAS HELD AT BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

On August 6, a delegation consisting of Naile Malakmadze, a representative of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and epidemiologist of the Interventional Epidemiological Service of the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine B.I.  Verovchuk visited NMU.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of NMU, Professor Iu.L.  Kuchyn, the First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor O.M. Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor R.L. Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor S.V.  Zemskov, Dean of the Medical Faculty №3, Professor O.V.  Vyhovska.

Heads of the Bogomolets National Medical University supported the proposal for further cooperation, aimed at training of public health professionals, in particular, the participation and preparation of joint projects and publications, trainings, webinars, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MEETING WITH THE AMERICAN DELEGATION OF CINTANA EDUCATION PUBLIC CORPORATION

On February 11, 2020 in the conference hall of the administrative building of the Bogomolets National Medical University the leadership of the University held meeting with representatives of the American corporation Cintana Education (Arizona).  The First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Iu.L.  Kuchyn introduced the guests to his colleagues – Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Medical Work, Professor O.M.  Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor R.L. Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations, Professor S.V. Zemskov, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational Work, Professor O.A. Kanyura, Head of International Relations Department, Associate professor O.L. Tarynska, and told about the history and present of the University. Thereafter he gave the floor to the American delegation.

 

Cagri Bagcioglu, Ed.D – Head of Eastern Europe and Central Asia at Cintana Education, introduced Jenny Orlova – Director of Partnerships and Market Analytics, and Mamuka Tsereteli, International Policy Adviser for Europe-Asia.  He noted that Cintana Education was created with the University of Arizona (ASU) to enable mostly nonprofit universities outside the United States to leverage the experience and innovation of ASU and Cintana to provide better higher education in Cintana Alliance countries. “Cintana Education aims are,” ​​continued Cagri Bagcioglu, “to work with government and the private sector to support the development of universities.”  The universities, which will be part of the Cintana Alliance, a global network of universities, will be able to share the best projects in the field of education, exchange students and teachers, be part of the international dialogue on the future of higher education.

 

During the further conversation, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and cooperation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

NMU ALUMNA FROM THE REPUBLIC OF PANAMA VISITED HER ALMA MATER

 11/02/2020

On February 11, 2020, the citizen of Panama Maritza de Jesus Ortega, who graduated from NMU in 1976, visited Bogomolets National Medical University.  After receiving her doctorate degree, Ms Maritza returned to her homeland, where she held senior health care positions, including managing AIDS and mothers and children programs, leading the epidemiology department and more.  Maritza de Jesus Ortega is now the Dean of the Medical Faculty of Panama Private University.

The guest was warmly welcomed by the staff of the International Relations Department. Vice-rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration Skrypnyk Rimma Leonidivna and Head of the International Relations Department, Associate Professor Tarynska Olha Leonidivna had a tour of the University Rector’s Office for the guest, showed her a conference room with portraits of the luminaries of medical science, whose professional lives were connected with NMU. Ms Maritza came to the University with her youngest son and two grandchildren and a businessman, a citizen of Ukraine Panamanian origin Eskobar Bismark, who lives and works in Kyiv. “I really wanted, she said, to show my relatives the High school where my late husband mastered the profession of a doctor. The best memories I have about students, about Kyiv, my friends. My first daughter I named Oksana, was born in Kyiv in the Oleksandrivska City Clinical Hospital, the second in Panama, her name is Natalia. Their names always remind me of Kyiv and the wonderful student years.” The same day Ms Maritza visited Oleksandrivska City Clinical Hospital together with her family, where many years ago she gave birth to her first daughter, visited morphological building and Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, which is headed by Professor Natrus Larysa Valentynivna. Everything told by Larysa Valentynivna was translated by Ms Maritza to her grandchildren into Spanish. It seemed she wanted to get them interested in medical profession and the University. To the question: “would you like to have your grandchildren studied at NMU?”. She said: “she really wants to”. Saying goodbye, Maritza de Jesus Ortega wished Bogomolets National Medical University prosperity, the best students and staff, and thanked everyone who gave her the opportunity to visit her Alma Mater.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ADMINISTRATION OF BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HAD MEETING WITH DELEGATION  FROM FINLAND

On February 12, 2020, a meeting of the NMU leadership with representatives of the Finnish delegation took place in the conference hall of the University Administration Building.  Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor R.L. Skrypnyk, introduced the members of the Ukrainian negotiating group – Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational Work, Professor A.A. Kaniura, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology  M.M. Filonenko , Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Tactical Medicine, Professor A.M. Grynzovskyi, Head of International Relations Department, Associate Professor O.L. Tarynska and assistant of the Department of Pediatrics №1 Yu.P. Resnikov.  Rimma Leonidovna noted that NMU cooperates with 75 scientific-educational and medical institutions and expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, which was presented by the guests.

The Finnish delegation was headed by Kaini Ari-Peka, Head of the International Relations department at the University, who described in detail the features of the higher education system in Finland in general and the Satakunt University of Applied Sciences in particular.  The Finnish guests prepared a multimedia presentation, which was commented by the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Welfare, Savola Tiina Marketta and Senior Lecturer, Elo Anu Marquetta.

During the meeting, the parties identified the main areas of cooperation and expressed readiness to prepare and sign a bilateral document on cooperation between NMU and the University of Applied Sciences of Satakunta.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION MET WITH THE POLISH SPECIALISTS IN PSYCHOLOGY

On 29 January, 2020 in the conference hall of the NMU administrative building the meeting of Polish delegation with the University administration to discuss future cooperation was held. First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education Professor Iu.L. Kuchyn presented members of the Ukrainian negotiating group: Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational Work, Professor A.A. Kaniura, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Professor S.V. Zemskov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor R.L. Skrypnyk, Head of the Department of General and Medical Psychology, Professor N.M. Matiash and Head of International Relations Department, Associate Professor O.L. Tarynska. During the talks, Iu.L. Kuchyn focused his attention on international cooperation of Bogomolets National Medical University with Medical Universities of Europe and the world. ” NMU has a long-standing close relations with the medical community of Poland. Already Cooperation Agreements have been signed with the Medical University of Warsaw, Wroclaw Medical University, Jagiellonian University Medical College, Higher school of business – National-Louis University, Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, Medical University of Bialystok. From 2017, the University resumed the work of the Centre of Polish-Ukrainian scientific and cultural cooperation. We want to expand the geography of our cooperation with Poland, so we welcome cooperation with Medical University in Lublin,” said Professor Iu.L. Kuchyn and invited guests from Poland to a word.

On the Polish part, the delegation was represented by Professor, Chairman of the Polish Psycho-Oncological Society Marzena Samardakiewicz, Professor, President of the Polish Psycho-Oncological Association Krystyna de Walden Gałuszko and Psychologist, President of the Polish Charitable Foundation “Gdy Liczysię Czas”.  As we have already reported, Polish psychologists participate in the training course “Psycho-oncology-2020”, organized and conducted by the Department of General and Medical Psychology of the University and the public association “Association for Medical and Psychological Rehabilitation”. The Polish guests thanked for the hospitable reception and expressed their interest in further cooperation with our University.

During the meeting the parties discussed the main directions of future cooperation, which will be fixed in the joint Memorandum, in particular: joint participation in grant programs, academic exchange between students and staff of the Universities, cooperation between the departments of General and Medical Psychology of NMU and Applied Psychology of the University of Lublin  in joint scientific projects and research, publications in specialized journals of Poland and Ukraine, joint participation in grant programs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PRACTICAL WORKSHOP-TRAINING “HOW TO PREPARE JEAN MONEY ERASMUS+ PROJECT” FOR BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY STAFF

International Relations Department of our University, under the direction of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, is constantly striving to expand the forms and methods of their activity.  In particular, managers of the department actively involve students, teachers and scholars in participating in international scientific grants, improving educational programs on a European basis.  Such an opportunity is offered today in Ukraine by the EU Erasmus + Program, named in honor of one of the founders of the European Union, Jean Monnet.

The aim of the Jean Monnet Direction within the EU Erasmus + Program is to promote the activation of European integration discourse, the excellence of European integration studies and the study of European integration processes, the implementation of the ideas and standards of the United Europe and our University.

During the practical training seminar, the manager of the National Erasmus + office in Ukraine Petro Krainik told our staff about grants for higher education institutions, gave practical advice on preparing projects and applying for the EU Erasmus + competition.

 

 

 

 

 

MEETING OF POLISH DELEGATION WITH ADMINISTRATION OF BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

 

On the 29th of November in the administrative building of Bogomolets National Medical University administration of NMU held meeting with the leadership of the Polish sports delegation, which was invited by our University to participate in «NMU OPEN 2019» tournament.

Starting the meeting, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk introduced her colleagues to the guests: Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational work, Professor Oleksandr Kaniura,  Head of the Physical Education and Health Department  T. Gusev, Senior Lecturer in the Physical Education and Health Department V. Ziva, Senior Lecturer in the Physical Education and Health Department V. Radziyevskyi, Head of the Press Center  Tetiana Mikhailenko.  Rimma Skrypnyk greeted the guests within the University walls, told about its history and present, and invited to the word Adam Stepnyak, President of the Academic Sports Association in Czestochowa, who introduced the members of the delegation – Head of the Department of Physical Education at Czestochowa University, Professor Tomash Gabris and Financial Director of Academic Sports Association in Czestochowa Tomash Stepie.  Adam Stepniak thanked for the warm welcome of the Polish football team in Kyiv, the organization of an interesting and rich cultural program and expressed his wish to make such football tournaments traditional. Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk supported this proposal, proposing at the same time to establish closer cooperation between Bogomolets National Medical University and the University of Czestochowa, extending it not only to the field of sports, but also to science, training, internships.  The parties expressed mutual interest in establishing students exchange and staff teaching, traineeships, participation in scientific conferences.  During the conversation, it was decided to identify the main prerogatives of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, confirming them by signing the Memorandum of Cooperation.  Finally, the guests were presented with memorable gifts.

 

 

 

NMU LEADERSHIP MEETING WITH ARGENTINA DELEGATION

On November 15, a meeting of the administration of Bogomolets National Medical University with the delegation of the Argentine Republic took place in the conference hall of the Rectorate.  The First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Iurii Kuchyn warmly welcomed the guests at the University walls and introduced the members from the Ukrainian side taking part in the negotiations: Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational Work, Professor Oleksandr Kanyura, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovations, Professor Serhii Zemskov, Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, the Head of International Relations Department, Associate Professor Olga Tarynska.  Iurii Kuchyn briefly told the guests about the past and present of our glorious University, outlined the range of issues proposed for discussion and gave the floor to the guests.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic, Mrs. Elena Leticia Mikusinski, thanked for the hospitality and introduced the participants of the Argentinean negotiating group: Secretary of the Embassy Mr. Martin Castro, Medical Biologist, PhD in Molecular Pharmacology  Professor, Dr. Pablo Goldschmidt.  Professor Pablo Goldschmidt said that he has developed several tools for the diagnosis of infectious diseases, is actively involved in the development of new treatments for conventional and non-conventional infectious agents (drugs, fluids and tissues) to prevent blindness and teaches in numerous universities in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.  He is also actively involved in virology, and since 2008 has been actively involved as a volunteer for the NGO Ophthalmologists Without Borders, conducts epidemiological surveys, treatment campaigns, and clinical trials.  Professor Goldschmidt also stressed that he, as well as Ambassador Mrs. Elena Leticia Mikusinski, who has Ukrainian roots, has a special attitude towards Ukraine, because his grandmother, grandfather and mother were born in the Ternopil region, so he wants to do everything possible for Ukrainian-Argentine cooperation in medicine and biological pharmacology to make it more fruitful and beneficial for both countries.

Summarizing the meeting, The First Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education, Professor Iurii Kuchyn noted that as a result of the negotiations, priority issues of Ukrainian-Argentine cooperation were identified, which will be further fixed in a joint document.  It is about the possibility and conditions of involvement of Professor, Dr. Pablo Goldschmidt in the editorial board of the journal “Medical Science in Ukraine”, participation in joint scientific projects and research, joint participation in grant programs.

Finally, the parties exchanged memorable gifts.

THE CENTER OF POLISH-UKRAINIAN SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL COOPERATION HAS BEEN REOPENED AT BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

 

 

On November 1, the Center of Polish-Ukrainian Scientific and Cultural Cooperation resumed its work.  Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk met with Polish students studying at our University, introduced them to the Center’s coordinator Tatiana Mykhailenko, told about the future plans.  Rimma Skrypnyk emphasized that in addition to Polish students, everyone who is interested in Poland, its culture, science, language can participate in the work of the Center and invited all concerned to cooperate.

 

 

 

 

MEETING OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE GENERAL SURGERY DEPARTMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY CLINIC OF SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN TOWN LUBECK (GERMANY), PROFESSOR TOBIAS KECK

On October 23, 2019, Tobias Keck, the director of the General Surgery Department at the University Clinic of Schleswig-Holstein, Lubeck (Germany) had meeting with the administration of NMU in the conference hall of the NMU administrative building.

He is a world-renowned specialist in the field of minimally invasive surgery and pancreatic surgery, a member of the expert boards of leading research groups and associations, the Hirsch Index – 31. The meeting was also attended by Ulrich Wellner – Assistant Professor at the University Clinic Schleswig-Holstein.

The meeting was started by the Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, who introduced the participants of the negotiating group from the Ukrainian side: Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Relations and European Integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovations, Professor Serhii Zemskov, Head of the Department of General Surgery №1, Professor Oleksii Dronov and Head of International Relations Department, Associate Professor Olga Tarynska.

Professor Oleksandr Naumenko greeted the distinguished guests, emphasizing that this is not the first visit to our University with lectures and workshops for Professor Tobias Keck, so he is well aware of the glorious history and present of NMU.  “Your lectures and workshops have received very good feedback from students and staff, but we would like to see further collaboration that is beneficial to both of our universities.  It is certain that it is time to move from declaring goals to their realization”, he noted and suggested questions for further discussion.  These include the exchange of students and graduate students, young scientists, academic staff, opportunities and conditions for signing a memorandum with the University of Lubeck and a memorandum with the University Clinic of Schleswig-Holstein, University of Lubeck (Germany).

In his turn, Professor Tobias Keck suggested establishing a German-Ukrainian Medical Association and developing further cooperation on its basis.  He said that the Schleswig-Holstein University Clinic has the best equipment in Europe, and since Bogomolets NMU wants to open a University Clinic, it will be very interesting and useful for the Ukrainian side to visit the Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital.

Summarizing the results of the working meeting, the Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Clinical Work, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko once again thanked his German colleagues for the suggestions made during the negotiations and the readiness to sign a memorandum in the near future, which will expand the cooperation of both universities.  Finally, the parties exchanged memorable gifts.

 

 

MEETING WITH CULTURAL ATTACHE OF THE EMBASSY OF LIBYA IN UKRAINE DOCTOR HAMED ALAHIRSH

September 24, 2019 in the conference hall of the administrative building of Bogomolets National Medical University Vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical and educational work, Professor Oleksandr Kaniura, Vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical work, international relations and European integration, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk and Vice-rector for scientific work and innovations, Professor Serhii Zemskov held a working meeting with Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Libya in Ukraine doctor Hamed Alahirsh.

During the conversation such technical issues as study, examinations and accommodation of Libyan students were being discussed. Professor Oleksandr Kaniura noted that the quality of Libyan first-year students has improved significantly this year.

In his turn, referring to the world-famous prestige of our university, a Libyan diplomat emphasized: “We would like to send all our citizen who wish to master the profession of a doctor to Bogomolets National Medical University for studying. There are only 40 of them so far, but we desire to increase this number significantly because it is primarily about high level and quality of education which our citizens obtain in your University”.

Answering the questions of Professor Rimma Skrypnyk about further ways of cooperation between NMU and the Embassy of Libya, doctor Hamed Alahirsh made a proposition to establish permanent working relationship between the University and the Embassy of Libya in Ukraine in order to solve urgent issues arising during the study of Libyan students at NMU.

 

 

REPORT ON THE VISIT OF BOGOMOLETS NMU DELEGATION TO THE SECOND GANSU CHINESE MEDICINE INDUSTRY EXPO

According to the Memorandum of Understanding and Academic Cooperation between NMU and the Health Department of Gansu Province of the People’s Republic of China, the Cooperation Agreement between NMU and Gansu University of Chinese Medicine, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk and deputy chief of the Training Department Natalia Hreben visited the 2nd Gansu Chinese Medicine Industry Expo.

The exhibition was held in Longxi county of Gansu Province on 22-24 August 2019 and was jointly organized by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, National Administration of Chinese Medicine of PRC and the People’s Government of Gansu Province.

The program of the exhibition included the following events: Opening Ceremony, the Forum on High-Quality Development of Chinese Medicine Industry, Exhibition of Chinese medicine products and Press conference for Chinese Medicine Industrial Policy Standard, etc.

Our colleagues were warmly welcomed in a friendly atmosphere. They participated in various events of the exhibition, where current issues of complementary medicine in different countries were being discussed. Professor Rimma Skrypnyk made a presentation on “China Medicine Education Training Causes “Attention” in Ukraine”. The main topics of the report were the spread of Chinese medicine in Ukraine, the use of methods and its impact on the development of the Ukrainian medical industry.

Except for the Ukrainian delegation and the representatives of the People’s Republic of China, the exhibition was attended by the experts from many other countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, Vietnam, and France.  They also shared their knowledge and achievements in complementary medicine in their countries and their implementation in the world.

During their visit to the People’s Republic of China, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk and deputy chief of the Training Department Natalia Hreben also had the opportunity to visit the Chinese Medicine Herbs Fair of Longxi  County, Gansu University of Chinese Medicine and the Medical University campus.

Bogomolets NMU delegation has shared a valuable experience with their colleagues in China and intend to develop further bilateral partnership in the field of complementary medical industry and to continue fruitful cooperation between the Bogomolets National Medical University and Gansu University of Chinese Medicine.

 

 

MEETING OF THE LEADERS OF BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY WITH THE DELEGATION OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE FROM THE USA

On August 14, 2019, at the conference hall of the administrative corpus of the Bogomolets National Medical University, a meeting of NMU leaders and teachers with American specialists in the field of emergency medical care and emergency medicine took place.  Contacting and establishing a mutually beneficial collaboration with the illustrious University was requested by Patrick E. Chellew, a specialist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Oakland, California, from Harvard University’s Humanities Initiative, Dr. Timothy B. Erickson and their colleagues.  From the Ukrainian side, the First vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and postgraduate education of NMU, Professor Yuriy Kuchyn, Vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical and clinical work of NMU, Professor Oleksandr Naumenko, Vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and international relations, Professor Rimma Skrypnyk, Head of the Emergency Medicine and Tactical Medicine Department at NMU, Professor Anatoliy Grynzovskyi were present at the meeting.

Dr. Timothy B. Erickson explained that there were two main topics of study for the US delegation.  This is, first, the modernization of the means of combating radiological, chemical and biological weapons.  Second, the specifics of medical technology in the war zone.  Americans unanimously admit that they are pleasantly impressed with the achievements of Ukrainians in this area.  It is unknown whether they joke about whether we should teach or whether we should learn.  One thing is certain: their mission in Ukraine will not be a one-off event.

 

 

MAY 28, 2019 ADMINISTRATION OF NMU HAS MEETED WITH DELEGATION OF UNIVERSITY OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE OF GANSU PROVINCE

The second day at the University the delegation from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Gansu Province, headed by Vice President of TCM University, Professor Zheng Guisen is visiting Bogomolets National Medical University.  Today, the Chinese delegation had meeting with the leadership of the NMU.  The meeting was held in the conference hall of the administrative building of the University.  The First vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and postgraduate education, Professor Yu.L. Kuchyn warmly congratulated the Chinese guests and introduced the participants of the meeting from the Ukrainian side, in particular: Vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and international relations, Professor R.L.  Skrypnyk, Vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical and educational work, Professor O.A. Kaniura, Director of the Ukrainian Family Medicine Training Center of NMU, Associate Professor O.I. Vysotska.

Yuriy Leonidovych spoke about the glorious history and present time of our University, then Professor Zheng Guiseng was invited to the word. He thanked for the warm welcome and called the members of the Chinese delegation: Deputy Director University of TCM, Professor Han Tao, Deputy Director of the University of TCM, Professor Wang Xiaorong, the Vice-head of the Chinese Diaspora in Ukraine.  Professor Zheng Guiseng informed the participants that University of TCM, Gansu province was founded only 40 years ago, but during this time he became the leading medical educational institution in North-Western China. In the University one can study methods of Chinese traditional medicine, pharmacology, integration of Chinese and Western medicine, clinical medicine, nursing and other medical disciplines. Professor Zheng Guiseng expressed special interest in further research cooperation between the two universities, in particular in gynecology, and has put forward a proposal on creation of Ukrainian-Chinese Scientific community, where the annual meetings were held to discuss topical scientific issues and directions.

Vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and international relations, Professor R.L.  Skrypnyk told the guests that the University has close international relations with 75 foreign educational institutions.  According to her report, NMU has signed agreements with five higher education institutions in the framework of the International Credit Mobility Program Erazmus +, grant studies are conducted in different directions, and the number of students from different countries is increasing every year.  She informed in detail how the cooperation between the NMU and other Medical Universities will be developing in the future.

The parties then proceeded to discuss bilateral cooperation issues, in particular regarding the organization of the work in the TCM department, as a structural unit of the Training Center of the Ukrainian Training Center for Family Medicine (NTC UTCSM);  organization of joint scientific activities;  organization and providing conditions of exchange of teachers, graduate students;  creation of permanent Chinese language courses at NMU and at the TCM University of Gansu Province (including distance learning) for the purpose of further education, internship on the scientific development by the staff of both universities.

Professor Zheng Guisen stressed the importance of introducing Ukrainian language learning in China and Chinese language in Ukraine, calling the language barrier a major obstacle that hinders full-scale cooperation between the two universities.

Professor Yu.L.Kuchyn suggested that the staff of both universities should create a step-by-step plan of cooperation, agree it and, if it suits both parties, begin its implementation.
