MEETING OF MEDICAL LINGUISTIC “ENGLISH SPEAKING CLUB”
The regular annual meeting of medical linguistic “English Speaking Club” was held on 19, March, 2016.
Over 60 students and teachers at department of foreign language met in the morning to discuss the topic “Challenges in Trauma Management” in English, to remind of professional vocabulary, rules to render the first aid at different traumas, to receive the practical skills to put bandages and to transport the injured people. The topic was considered within the context of military field medicine that is now very actual taking into consideration the events in ATO zone.
The students from active group under supervision of the head at department of foreign languages L.Ya. Avrakhova, senior teacher and curator of club O.M. Demydovych and president of club V. Zvolya (III course, medical faculty No 1) creatively approached to the preparation of meeting. The information-rich presentations that were accompanied by interesting facts, video materials, games, practical tasks were presented to the audience. The best reporters were Sava Palamar (1stcourse, medical faculty No 1) about world statistics of traumas, Kateryna Strubchevska and Andriana Nikitina (2nd course, medical faculty No 1) about trauma of the brain, Yuliana Ilyina (2nd course, medical faculty No 1) about rules for transportation of the wounded people.
As the discussion had the competitive character, the team of winners received the prize, and the most active participants – certificates of participation.
