ALL-UKRAINIAN MEETING: “MEDICAL PROVISION IN THE ZONE OF ANTITERRORIST OPERATION: PROBLEMS AND WAYS OF THEIR SOLUTION”

All-Ukrainian meeting: Medical provision of ATO injured and participants: problems and ways of their solution” was held on 25, November, 2014 in the assembly hall of Bogomolets NMU.

Heads of MHC of Ukraine and NAMS of Ukraine, representatives of power departments, heads at regional departments and health care administrations, military hospitals and war veterans’ centers, rectors of medical universities, international volunteers’ organization, community, etc. took part in the event.

Acting Minister of health care Vasyl Lazoryshynets made an introductory speech to the present people. According to the words by the head of MHC of Ukraine, the main tasks for medical provision in the zone of ATO are the aid to wounded, re-training of medical men, provision of medical establishments with all necessary things and the aid to civil population.

As acting Minister mentioned, the war in the east of the country has to a certain degree started the reform of health care system. So, rendering the medical aid in the regions near the front are re-formatted, as the great and powerful medical base, which was left in Donetsk and Lugansk, had been ruined. Now the new medical centers are transferred and established in the liberated territories to treat injured and settlers. The work to complete the new highly professional medical establishments and to establish the network of mobile first aid stations has already been started.

During the meeting the present people also discussed the role of medical associations and volunteers’ organizations during organization of medical provision for injured and participants in antiterrorist operation. The issue about rehabilitation of injured and participants in antiterrorist operation was discussed at the professional level.
