DIVISION OF ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY AT NCSH “OKHMATDYT” IS 50 YEARS!

The solemn celebration of the 50^th anniversary since foundation of division of orthopedics and traumatology at National children’s specialized hospital “OKHMATDYT”, which is one of subdivisions of department of pediatric surgery in O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, took place on 12, December, 2014 at Officers’ House.

Hospital “Okhmatdyt” became the base of department in 1957. Order No 145a by then chief doctor Novikova Tetiana Petrivna and with active participation of then assistant professor Dolnytskyy O.V. increased the volume of special beds up to 60 and appointed M.F. Derevianko to the post of acting head of division. During half a century for existence of division it was managed by famous doctors and scientists: M.F. Derevianko, Doctor of Medicine, professor O.V. Dolnytskyy, O.S. Sakharov, Candidate of Medicine V.P. Yurchak, Candidate of Medicine F.M. Dubovyy, V.P. Yegorov, Candidate of Medicine, professor A.F. Levytskyy. Starting since 2004 until present times the division is headed by Candidate of Medicine O.V. Bebeshko.

Now the division is the leading one in Ukraine in rendering the aid at serious deformations of spine, polytrauma at children, reconstructive-plastic surgery and has the wide international contacts. The results from work of division were reported at many international congresses and symposiums.

The high guests were present at the celebration – representatives from different regions of Ukraine, who are the leading specialists in the sphere of orthopedics and traumatology. The present people watched the multimedia presentation about development of division since the past 1964 until present times; they saw the successes and achievements by collective of division in scientific and treatment work.
