THE SOLEMNITIES ON OCCASION OF THE 71ST ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY TOOK PLACE AT THE UNIVERSITY
The university community at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university honored the memory of veterans and participants in the Great Patriotic War on 17, May, 2016.
The solemn ceremony on putting the flowers on occasion of the 71st anniversary of Victory over Nazism in the Second World War took place near the Memorial to teachers and students, perished during the war of 1939-1945 and Memorial Stella to Heroes of Nebesna Sotnya.
The rector of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine, professor Kateryna Amosova, pro-rectors, deans of faculties, professors and teachers, employees and students of university met with former employees of the university – veterans and participants in war.
The rector of NMU, professor Kateryna Amosova addressed to the heroes, whose heroic deeds is the unforgettable contribution into victory against anti Hitler coalition: “Our dear veterans, we gathered to thank you for what you have made for us, our generation, our children and to express the deep respect to you for your heroic deed. We are always near to you and it is the great honor for us to help you”.
The participants in the event honored the memory of perished people with a minute of silence and went with the Memorable move after putting the flowers. Traditionally the veterans of the Second World War were awarded with flowers and financial aid. The students of the university congratulated them with holiday concert. The present people visited the exhibition of books, historical documents and archival photos under title “The fire of war in the people’s memory”, which was organized by employees of scientific library of NMU in academic buildings of university on occasion of the 71stanniversary of Victory.
Ukraine is in age-long debt to the heroic deed of veterans for the youth, broken by the war, and self-sacrifice. They are the example for young generations in establishment of peaceful today.
