SECTION OF UROLOGY AT CONFERENCE “INTERESTING CASES IN CLINICAL MEDICINE 2018”

The meeting of section “Urology” was held on 14, February, 2018 within the II all-Ukrainian scientific practical conference of students, interns and young scientists “Interesting cases in clinical medicine 2018”, during which 8 reports by students from O.O. Bogomolets NMU and guests from other universities were listened to. The jury of section included the head at department of urology, Doctor of Medicine, professor S.P. Pasechnikov, Candidate of Medicine, assistant at department Ya.M. Klymenko and head of students’ scientific club at department of urology Candidate of Medicine, assistant professor P.H. Yakovlev. The meeting of section was started from welcome speech by head at department, professor Pasechnikov S.P. Serhii Petrovych emphasized the importance of participation in students’ conferences for future doctors regardless of specialty, chosen by them, as such form of work allows developing the critical thinking, learning correctly and clearly expressing own thought, as well as improving the level of knowledge in general. After that the head of students’ scientific club at department of urology, assistant professor Yakovlev P.H. addressed to participants. Pavlo Heorhiievych also welcomed all reporters and attendants of section, explained the regulation for performance of the meeting and appealed to active discussion during consideration of clinical cases.

During the main part of the meeting – presentation and discussion of interesting clinical cases that concerned the abnormalities in development of organs of urino-genital system, enuresis, urinary stone disease in practice of family doctor, complex treatment of renal cell carcinoma, of bladder and pelvis cancer, all participants could take part in lively discussion with moderators and between themselves about correctness of diagnostic algorithms, different strategies of treatment and surgical techniques in urology. Professor Pasechnikov commented on each report, providing with important and interesting facts from different medical specialties. Assistant professor Yakovlev paid the special attention to the works of oncourology topics and shared his knowledge in this sphere with participants. After finishing the main part of the meeting the reporters and attendants received the valuable gifts from department of urology at O.O. Bogomolets NMU, the winners of section were determined and the members in jury appealed all people to take part in events of students’ science later.
