PORTUGAL WELCOMES KETTLE BELL LIFTERS OF UKRAINE
The championship of Europe in kettle bell lifting among men, women, juniors and veterans and the 6th world championship in kettle bell lifting among students was held on 11-16, May, 2016 in c. Porto (Portugal).
135 sportsmen from 14 countries took part in competitions. The sports delegation of Ukraine included 40 persons – sportsmen, trainers, referees. The competitions were held according to Calendar plan for sports events by International kettle bell lifting Federation. During competitions the sports delegation of Kettle Bell Lifting Federation of Ukraine met with the head of consular agency of Ukraine in c. Porto Gennadiy Rogovets, who welcomed the sportsmen and wished the successes in competitions to them.
The national team of Ukraine took the first place in the championship of Europe, the powerful team of Italy – the second place and the sportsmen from Israel – the third place. The team places among students were distributed by the same way.
The students of O.O. Bohomolets NMU, who are the members of athletic club of NMU “Tonus”, successfully performed in individual classification. Iuliia Lynnyk (medical faculty No 2) received the golden medal in weight category of up to 60 kg; Andrii Shmatko (medical faculty No 3) won the bronze medal in weight category of up to 65 kg.
It is also necessary to mention the sportsmen, who are the members of athletic club of NMU “Tonus”: Vasyl Semenets became the champion of Europe among veterans and Viktor Ivakhnenko received the golden medal in competitions among juniors and students.
