TO INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NATIVE LANGUAGE

The XXX session of UNESCO General conference announced 21, February as the International Day of Native Language.

The level of everyone’s consciousness is in the language. As long as the language lives, so long the people will live as nationality, the state will grow. The love and respect to the language, which you speak, is first of all the respect of yourself, manifestation of respect to people, its history and culture. The phonetic luxury of Ukrainian language, its lexical and phraseological wealth, syntactic flexibility, huge word-forming possibilities has acquired the general acknowledgment. In 1934 at the contest in Paris it was acknowledged as the most melodious language in the world along with French and Persian.

A human that works much over the language as a rule achieves the high linguistic perfection. The language of human is the original litmus paper, which defines the level of its general culture, education and inner intelligence.

They spoke namely about it at the Holiday of Native Language on 23, February, 2016, which was organized by library of O.O. Bohomolets NMU together with the department of Ukrainian studies, having invited the first year students from medical psychological faculty.

The books and illustrations exhibitions were presented in the reading hall: “Language – the spiritual treasure of people”, “Immortal treasures of Ukrainian language”, “Occupational language of medical man”, where the students and teachers could learn the best samples of national literature.

The employees of the library got the present people acquainted with the history for establishment of University library, which will celebrate its 135th anniversary in 2016, organized the excursion in the library for youth, and presented the books to remember about holiday.
