WE READ THE LECTURES BY A NEW WAY AT DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRIC SURGERY
The department of pediatric surgery started the cycle of lectures due to the new format. The first lecture on 9, February, 2018 was read by Candidate of Medicine, assistant Oleh Hodik to students in the 5th course of medical faculties No 1 and 3. The topic of the lecture was “Acute abdomen at children”. Is it necessary for the students to repeat the information about acute appendicitis, which they have already studied at other surgical departments? The students themselves answered this question as the survey was performed at the end of the lecture. The lecture was built on clinical cases with lively discussion with the audience. The students in the questionnaires assessed the practical direction, simplicity and interest.
The teachers at department prepared the following lectures on topics “Polytrauma at children”, “Trauma of chest and abdominal cavity at children”, “Bleeding of gastrointestinal tract at children” for students of the 5th course. The lectures were interactive and described the urgent problems of acute surgical states at children, who require the urgent aid. The competent tactics at pre-hospital stage may save the lives of little patients, thus the doctors of any specialty should know these problems. We invite the colleagues to the lectures.
