224 TECHNOLOGIES OF MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

Specialized education in Knowledge Area 22 Health Care in the specialty 224 Technologies of Medical Diagnosis and Treatment involves the training of laboratory medicine specialists focused on the modern principles of the quality management system of laboratory services. During their studies, higher education students master general and special methods and techniques of laboratory research (histological, histochemical, clinical diagnostic, biochemical, bacteriological, virological, immunological, cytological, molecular genetics, pathological, sanitary and hygienic, etc.) and gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the basic principles of quality assurance of laboratory research results.

A feature of the training of higher education students in the specialty 224 Technologies of medical diagnosis and treatment at the Bogomolets National Medical University is its focus on the development of modern risk-oriented thinking and skills of a process approach to laboratory management in the health care system.  Thus, the educational and professional training program for specialists of the second (master’s) level of higher education is developed taking into account the Model of Competencies of Laboratory Leaders/Managers (Global Laboratory Leadership Program; World Health Organization; 2019) and provides for the development of the most important competencies that laboratory managers should have.
