THE EMBASSY OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC IN KYIV, ANNOUNCES A CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR SMALL GRANTS FOR 2020 IN UKRAINE

 

  1. PROVIDER

This aid modality of the Slovak Official Development Assistance is funded from SlovakAid and is aimed directly at small-scale projects which represent a more flexible, operative and effective financial support for developing countries.

  1. AMOUNT REQUESTED

The maximum amount of the non-repayable financial contribution is maximum 10.000 EUR per project.

A maximum number of the selected projects are limited by the budget allocated for this call for proposals which is 40.000 EUR.

  1. PROJECT DURATION

The duration of each project is from 6 to a maximum of 12 months beginning from the date of the signing of the Agreement between the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation and the Final Beneficiary.

  1. SECTOR PRIORITIES

The submitted projects must be related to sectors of Quality education, Good health, Good governance and civil society building, Food safety and agriculture, Infrastructure and sustainable use of natural resources, Supporting the creation of a market environment.

The proposals must be in accordance with the Strategy of the Slovak Republic for Development Cooperation for 2019 – 2023. Project proposals which are not in line with the focus of this call for proposals will not be accepted.

  1. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

The call for proposals is open to registered legal persons:

NGOs, non-profit subjects and local authorities.

  1. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

The deadline for submission of project proposals is October 15th, 2020. The project proposals should be sent both electronically (email: emb.kiev@mzv.sk) and in hard copy to the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Kyiv.

Hard-copy applications (completed, signed and stamped) with relevant accompanying documentation (registration documents of the applicant organization and CVs of the key representatives responsible for project implementation in English) should be sent to the Slovak Embassy no later than October 15th, 2020 on given deadline date. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.

GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR HUMAN SECURITY PROJECTS OF THE GRASSROOTS PROGRAMME (PROGRAMME KUSANONE)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

 

Financial assistance to the development projects offered by the Government of Japan is aiming at satisfying various needs in developing countries.

PURPOSE
The Kusanone scheme is a non-repayable financial assistance to non-governmental organizations, hospitals, primary schools, research institutes and other non-commercial organizations to provide support for the realization of their development projects.

 

The availability of the Kusanone resources in a selected country is provided by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) jointly with new types of cooperation, which directly influence the welfare of the society.

POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS
Any non-commercial organization can be a Kusanone programme recipient. The only requirement is that this non-commercial organization must carry out major development projects.

 

Here are the examples of potential recipients: domestic and international non-governmental organizations (irrespective of their citizenship), hospitals, primary schools, research institutes and other non-commercial organizations.

SPHERE OF PROJECTS

  • All small-scale development projects can be financed by the Kusanone programme. However, the priority will be given to the following projects:
    • HEALTHCARE
    • EDUCATION
    • ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY
    • PUBLIC WELFARE
    • ENVIRONMENT

Several examples (incomplete list) of priority projects:

  • REPAIR/RESTORATIONWORKS AND SUPPLY OF  EQUIPMEN TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS
  • SUPPLY OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO HOSPITALS
  • PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR DISABLED

 

  • In every selected country, the priority spheres can be defined by the Embassy of Japan in accordance with the development requirements of that

AVAILABLE RESOURCES
Resources of the Kusanone programme can be granted after the examination and assessment of each application on an annual project basis.

Prospective applicant is to be aware that the following budget expenditures cannot be financed: salary, expenses for fuel, subsistence and other administrative and current expenditures of organization.
