MASTER CLASS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION: SURGICAL CORRECTION OF CHEST DISTORTION AT CHILDREN
The master class with international participation “Surgical correction of chest distortion at children” was held on 16-17, March on base of universal clinic “Oberih”. The event was organized together with O.O. Bogomolets NMU, training center “ENDOFORCE”, department of pediatric surgery, NSHC “Okhmatdyt”.
The honorary guests took part in opening of event, among them rector of National Medical University, professor Kateryna Amosova, president in NAMS of Ukraine, professor Vitalii Tsymbaliuk, pro-rector in scientific pedagogical, treatment activity and postgraduate education Oleksandr Naumenko, chief doctor of NSHC “Okhmatdyt” Iryna Sadoviak, dean of medical faculty No 3 Oksana Vyhovska.
Due to concatenation of circumstances, the performance of the conference coincided with the jubilee of academician in Academy of Higher School of Ukraine, Honorary Scientist and Technician of Ukraine, Laureate of State Prize of Ukraine, professor Danylo Kryvchenia. Rector of NMU Kateryna Amosova in her greeting speech emphasized that the present hero of anniversary is included into cohort of famous surgeons of our university; his name is known not only in Ukraine but far abroad. She wished him further successes in education of growing medical generation. Academician Vitalii Tsymbaliuk awarded Danylo Kryvchenia with the Badge of Honor from NAMS of Ukraine on occasion of his 80th anniversary, which is the honorary reward by Presidium of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. professor Oksana Vyhovska thanked for study and knowledge, that she is proud of title of pupil of the scientist with world name. Oleksandr Naumenko in his greeting speech thanked professor Kryvchenia D.Yu. for his personal contribution into establishment of outstanding school of pediatric surgeons. The chief doctor at NSHC “Okhmatdyt” on behalf of the whole collective expressed the assurance that professor Kryvchenia D.Yu. together with the collective at department of pediatric surgery at NMU, which is located on the base of hospital “Okhmatdyt” would further make the significant contribution into scientific and medical treasure of establishment. The issues on evolution of surgery of chest distortion correction (professor Danylo Kryvchenia), chest distortion correction at simultaneous cardiac surgical operations and treatment of chest segregation (professor Anatolii Levytskyi), conservative treatment of lophosteon like chest distortion (Candidate of Medicine Oleksii Bebeshko), thoracoscopic assistance at operations Nuss (Candidate of Medicine Oleh Hodik) were raised within the conference “Surgical correction of chest distortion at children”, in which 50 leading pediatric surgeons, orthopedists took part.
The pediatric surgeons from Spain, Manuel Lopez – professor, director of university clinic “Vall d’Hebron” and Anna Lane also took an active part in work of the conference. They shared their recent scientific achievements in surgical treatment of chest distortions at children with participants. The especially interesting moment in work of the conference was its practical part, during which they performed the operative interference for correction of can-like deformation by Nuss method with thoracoscopic navigation. All participants could watch for the progress of operation online.
The master class was held during two days. One of organizers of the conference, head at department of pediatric surgery professor Anatolii Levytskyi mentioned that this event became one more important step in development of national and world pediatric surgery.
