THE STUDENTS OF NMU PASSED THROUGH PROBATION IN MEXICO

During winter holidays the students of O.O. Bohomolets NMU passed through probation at Hospital Civil Fray Antonio Alcalde in city Guadalajara (Mexico) due to the program of international exchanges IFMSA SCOPE.

The probations take place according to the Memorandum about cooperation between O.O. Bohomolets National medical university and International medical students association (UMSA).

The student of the 6^th course of medical faculty No 2 Isayeva Nargiz passed through probation due to specialty “Obstetrics and gynecology” and works as the assistant of doctor in modern department of obstetrics and gynecology during one month. She ran the consultations of pregnant women, performed the examination of gynecological patients, mastered the skills of colposcopy, ultrasound investigation of fetus, delivered babies on her own and assisted at operations.

The student of the 6^th course in medical faculty No 3 Koziy Khrystyna had the probation at department “Neurosurgery”. “I assisted many interesting operations, such as: rear selective rhizotomy of lateral section, lobectomy; bifrontal intracerebral bleeding as a result from aneurism rupture; intracerebral bleeding as a result from arterivenous malformation rupture, thalamectomy, meningioma, which later turned out to be the sarcoma at 14 years old girl in combination with tuberculosis; dermoid cyst of the neck in combination with spina bifida; callosotomy (treatment of Doose syndrome – myoclonic astatic epilepsy); fracture of occipital bone due to ping-pong type at 8 months boy; ventriculoperitoneal shunting at 1.5 years child; astrocytoma of cervical cord, which during express-research turned out to be the haemangioblastoma; numerous epidural, subdural, intracerebral hematomas. This probation provided me with the clear understanding for my place in medicine in Ukraine and all over the world, the clear position of doctor in labor market. I am incredibly grateful to all, who took efforts so that this trip would happen”, – told Khrystyna.

At the end of probation the students received the international certificate. The doctors of clinic mentioned the high level in training of students at O.O. Bohomolets NMU.

Since 2015 all-Ukrainian youth association of medical students started performing the international programs for exchange of medical students for probation with the best clinics in Europe and all over the world.
