PRESENTATION OF INSTITUTE OF POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AT O.O. BOHOMOLETS NMU
The meeting with the graduates from university, devoted to presentation of Institute of postgraduate education at O.O. Bohomolets NMU, which will start its work already since September this year, took place on 12, May, 2015 at physical chemical building.
The following persons took part in the event: rector in O.O. Bohomolets National medical university Amosova K.M., prorector on scientific pedagogical, treatment and postgraduate education Naumenko O.M., acting dean on internship and improvement of qualification for doctors Kuchyn Yu.L., head at department of dentistry Antonenko M.Yu., chief doctor at Kyiv city clinical hospital No 1 Makarenko M.V., chief doctor at Kyiv city maternity house No 5 Chermak I.I.
According to the words by rector Amosova K.M. the training system for doctors requires the significant changes in the context of European integration. “The reformation process of modern occupational education in Ukraine actualizes the problem on improvement of quality in training of doctors, in particular at postgraduate stage. Today O.O. Bohomolets NMU makes the decisive steps in this direction. Namely, it improves the postgraduate education through establishment of the separated subdivision with own clinical base for occupational postgraduate training that will provide with conformity to European standards and requirements of the new Law of Ukraine “On higher education”, – told Kateryna Mykolayivna.
Now the training of interns is carried out at departments, where the students study and it creates the difficulties at transfer from theoretical education to practical training of future doctors. Thus, 7 separate departments for training of interns, which will be located on the base of leading hospitals in c. Kyiv, will function namely at the Institute of postgraduate education. In particular, they are Kyiv city clinical hospital No 1 and Kyiv city maternity house No 5, which chief doctors were present at our meeting.
“The newly established institute will provide with the interactions of interns with potential employers stimulating them to professional growth as the best interns will be able to receive the prestigious work at once after completion of education. Besides, the additional possibilities for academic mobility of interns, exchange of experience with foreign specialists, as well as conduct of interactive courses and implementation of correspondence study will be created. The special attention will be paid to improvement of living conditions for interns”, – emphasized the acting dean on internship and improvement of qualification for doctors Kuchyn Yu.L.
The establishment of postgraduate education will become the important step in implementation of strategic goal – to train high skilled competitive doctors of the world level.
