MEETING OF STUDENTS WITH GRADUATE FROM HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL JEFFREY ANDERSON

The meeting of students with graduate from Harvard medical school professor at department of internal medicine at University of state Utah (USA) Jeffrey Anderson was held on 6, April, 2016 in lecture hall No 1 in sanitary hygienic building at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university.

The event was organized by O.O. Bohomolets National medical university and Ukrainian medical students’ association (UMSA). Professor Jeffrey Anderson read the lecture to students on topic “Cholesterol management – New paradigm”. The lecture was attended by representatives from O.A. Kysil SSS, Society of young scientists at NMU and students’ trade union. During the lecture Jeffrey Anderson provided with the sad statistics of death rate in the USA, where the first place is for cardiovascular diseases. He told about risk factors for these diseases and what is necessary to know and to do to prevent them. According to the words by professor, the reduction in level of cholesterol in human body is the most important tasks, which a medical man shall set to himself/herself in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

“Medical students are the future of medicine, and I think that it is you, who will cope with the tasks, set to you – to save lives, best of all, I am also very glad to be in the best medical university in Ukraine”, – mentioned Jeffrey Anderson.

Professor Jeffrey Anderson is specialized in electrophysiological researches and study of methods for visualization of the heart. Graduate from Harvard medical school graduated from residency in internal medicine in Boston (state Massachusetts). He is also the member in some American associations – American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Heart Association.
