THE FINAL OF INTELLECTUAL GAME “BRAIN RING ON DENTISTRY” TOOK PLACE

The final game of Brain ring in dentistry took place on 16, April, 2015 in lecture hall of dental building of O.O. Bohomolets NMU. 5 teams took part in the final: Bukovyna state medical university, M.I. Pyrogov Vinnytsia national medical university, O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, Uzhgorod national university and combined team 3M (company – partner of the game), represented by interns of O.O. Bohomolets NMU.

The composition of jury included teachers of NMU and guests: professors Khomenko L.O., Volovar O.S., Kuts P.V., Shuvalov S.M. (Vinnytsia), assistant professors Nesin O.F., Gryban O.M., Kolenko Yu.G., Vozniuk V.P., Kopchak A.V., assistant Rozhko V.I. (Chernivsti).

The game consisted of some contests: contest of hot-seat questions, contest of questions for creative thinking, answers to which were assessed by jury, contest of captains, contest “home task”. The jury assessed the names of teams and their own hot seat questions in dentistry in addition to the scores, which the players received during the game.

Due to results from the game the team “Apical delta” – team of interns from O.O. Bohomolets NMU under supervision of 3M company, won. However, according to the words of jury, each team showed itself well, each of them was original, creative, interesting – all teams were awarded both with encouragement of the jury and prizes from sponsors.

1^st place – team “Apical delta” – team of interns from O.O. Bohomolets NMU under supervision of 3M company.

2^nd place – team “Ribbond” – team from Uzhgorod national university.

3^rd place – team “KT” – team of students from O.O. Bohomolets NMU.

4^th place – team “Aligners” – team from M.I. Pyrogov Vinnytsia national medical university.

5^th place – team “Narval” from Bukovyna state medical university (Chernivtsi).

For reference: Brain ring in dentistry is the annual international intellectual students’ game, established at dental faculty of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university in 2000.

Brain ring is held within the actions by Students’ scientific society of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university. The project is supervised by Ukrainian association of preventive and pediatric dentistry and department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention of dental diseases of NMU, headed by Doctor of Medicine, professor, Honorary Scientist and Technician of Ukraine Khomenko Larysa Oleksandrivna.

Creator, moderator and hostess of Brain ring in dentistry – Doctor of Medicine, professor at department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention of dental diseases of NMU Bidenko Nataliia Vasylivna.

The game started as a competition of students’ teams only in our dental faculty, later future dentists from other higher medical schools from Kyiv, then Ukraine, Moscow, Minsk, Saint Petersburg joined to it. We performed some away games in Russia and Belarus. We launched the “branches” – game “What? Where? When? – in dentistry”. We started performing the selective competitions in other cities of the country.
