THIRD SCIENTIFIC READINGS IN THE MEMORY OF PROFESSOR A.P.PELESHCHUK

The third scientific readings in the memory of Honored Worker of Science of USSR, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Anatoliy Peleshchuk on ‘Interprofessional integration of internal medicine at the clinic’ were held on October 6, 2015, in the premises of the Department of Internal Medicine No.3 at Bogomolets National Medical University.

This year’s Scientific Forum consisted of over 200 participants, including doctors of therapeutic profile (cardiologists, gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, pulmonologists, allergists, immunologists), medical interns and senior students.

Readings program covers a wide range of issues from different areas of internal medicine, professional training of medical intern in pre- and postgraduate stages as well as the ethical and legal principles of medical staff in modern conditions. Particular attention was also paid to the history and humanistic traditions of Kyiv therapeutic school. Professors V.P. Shypulin and D.I. Nazarenko in their joint report (National Museum of Medicine of Ukraine) highlighted in detail the milestones of life and work of outstanding clinician and public figure, Professor Carl Tritschel. Memories of Professor A.S. Svintsitskyy about multi-head of the course of military field therapy at hospital therapy department No.2 of Kyiv Medical Institute, Professor Mykola Skopichenko to mark the 95^th anniversary of scientist, and about professor T.D. Nykula and his educational work with students and young scientists in the departments headed by professor Anatoliy Peleschuk were equally exciting. Professor V.O.Moyseyenko in his speech stressed the important place of ethics and deontology in the structure of medical disciplines, because knowledge of basic deontological principles of doctor’s activity is a fundamental principle for its formation as a highly professional and highly moral specialist.

During the next plenary meeting leading domestic scientists examined a number of topical problems of modern cardiology, including questions of algorithmic effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy in clinical practice (corresponding member of NAMS of Ukraine, professor K.M. Amosova, associate professor Yu.V. Rudenko on behalf of participants of the program ‘PERFEKT’), personalized selection strategy of antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy in patients with unstable forms of coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular accident (corresponding member of NAMS of Ukraine, professor V.Z. Netyazhenko), current realities and future trends in cardioprotection (Professor I.P .Katerenchuk) features of the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in the elderly age patients (Professor V.Ye. Kondratiuk), epidemiological and clinical aspects of resistant hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease (senior staff scientist I.M. Shifris).

A plenary session of the ‘Interdisciplinary problems in modern clinic of Internal Medicine’ caused Considerable interest among the audience, which once again demonstrated the importance of interprofessional integration in the management of patients of therapeutic profile. Scientists from Bogomolets National Medical University, Bogomolets Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine and State Institution ‘Kolomiychenko Institute of Otolaryngology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine’ in detail discussed a number of topical issues of current medical science and practice in their reports: hypoxia (Professor V.A. Berezovskyy), IgG4-dependent diseases (Professor O.B. Yaremenko), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (Professor A.S. Svintsitskyy), NSAID-enteropathy (Professor O.Yu. Hubska), rhinosinusitis (S.E. Yaremchuk, Doctor of Medicine) and others.

At the final meeting of young scientific forum scientists from the departments of Internal Medicine No.3, Propaedeutics, Internal medicine No.1, and Clinical Allergology and Immunology together with Section of Medical Genetics presented all present results of their scientific research, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the studied problems.
