PROFESSOR ANATOLIY LEVYTSKYY WAS ELECTED A CHAIRMAN OF SCOLIOSIS RESEARCH SOCIETY

The staff of Bogomolets National Medical University of welcomes the Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the NMU, Chief Children orthopedic traumatologist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Professor Anatoliy Levytskyy on his election to head of Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) – the world society of scoliosis research in Ukraine.

Scoliosis Research Society is an international company, founded in 1966. Currently, company occupies the top link on treatment, research and education in the field of spinal deformities. The society includes only leading surgeons around the world doe to the strict membership criteria.

According to colleagues, Professor A.F Levytskyy has reached a high level of skills when performing complicated procedures on the spine deformities, including:
–    Implementation of segmental spine resection – osteotomies with the most severe forms of deformation;
–    Posterior correcting spine instrumentation using “growing” design that allows to continue the growth and development of the spine;
–    Thoracoscopic interventions on the spine, when the most complex operations have more favorable results and have excellent cosmetic effect;
–    Using the halotraction method as a preparatory stage of surgical interference.
Professor A.F. Levytskyy was the first in Ukraine who implemented using the 3D printing to create a model of the spine in very severe forms of deformation, allowing preparing for surgery beforehand, maximum correctly choose the necessary clamps, reduce surgery time and significantly improve the results of treatment of sick children.
Congratulations to Professor Anatoliy Levytskyy on his election to Head the SRS in Ukraine. This indicates worldwide recognition, professionalism, painstaking and hard work!
