PROJECT OF STUDENT OF NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF ANDRIY MARANOV ON WORLD ARENA

On December 14, 2015, at the extraordinary Meeting of Academic Board of the University there was a reporting presentation of the Fourth-year student of the medical faculty No.2 Andriy Maranov on defence of scientific development Araned.

A young scientist has returned from Seed Forum Foundation conferences held in New York and San Francisco.

His scientific program means the comprehensive approach to study of human skeleton with use of augmented reality technology, 3D printing and 3D scanning. Andriy proposed 3D printing of bones, and watch arm nerves and vessels by means of a Smartphone, which application he developed. It will change the training process. The academic staff of the university supports the young innovator; there are even preliminary orders for his discovery.

Development of our student is popular in world. His project got awards at international conferences and start-up contests in the USA and Finland. For the first time the founder of Araned start-up was invited to Thiel Foundation Summit in San Francisco where the student got a grant amounted to UAH 300,000

The discovery should speed up and facilitate the study of a human body for students as Andriy’s motto is Anatomy must be easy!

We remind that the student of our university is a scholar of the President of Ukraine, Kyiv city hear and winner of five All-Ukrainian Student’s Contests.

4 years ago the physical faculty of the Kyiv national Taras Shevchenko University and Programming Faculty of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute invited Andriy, but he stayed with medicine and at O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University. According to the young scientist, his project Araned is a synergy of medical science, physical aspects and computer innovations.

The student joins the studies with software courses. And when the university had a problem with restricted use of organic products related to bioethical issues in Ukraine and all over the world, Andriy decided to use 3D scanning and printing and AR and make the comprehensive solution for medical education. Everything is simple, but of genius.

On May 24-25, 2016, the medical start-up Araned of Andriy Maranov will represent Ukraine at Pioneers Festival in Vienna (Austria).
