FIRST CHARITABLE DANCE OF NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

The first charitable dance of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university took place on 15, May, 2015 in the premises of Kyiv city state administration.

About 200 persons took part in the event: deputes of Kyiv city council, collective of O.O. Bohomolets NMU, representatives of students’ self-government, public institutions.

As organizers – students’ trade union of O.O. Bohomolets NMU and Charitable Fund “White Shield” – informed the purpose of dance was to collect money to purchase the medical equipment for rehabilitation center at Kyiv city clinical hospital for invalids of the Great Patriotic War, participants in military actions and anti-terrorist operation.

According to the words by Vlasiy Pylypko, initiator of the event, chairman of students’ trade union of O.O. Bohomolets NMU they managed to collect 40 thousands hryvna.

“We would like to help soldiers very much. There are different ways to provide with the support: to put money into the box, to transfer them by internet or visit some event, devoted to good affair. So, we had the idea to organize the First charitable dance of NMU. At that time they learnt about the acute need in equipment of rehabilitation center and decided to devote this event namely to rehabilitation”, – told Vlasiy Pylypko.

The idea about noble action by students’ trade union was actively supported at university administration. Appealing to the youth, rector of NMU Kateryna Amosova emphasized the urgency and necessity in performance of such actions to support military men, who defend Ukraine at the expense of their lives.

“I am proud that at our university there are such active students that take up the running of charitable events. After consultation with the administration of Kyiv city hospital, where now the wounded in ATO area are treated, the students decided to direct the collected money from Charitable dance to medical equipment for restoration of traumas of extremities for military men”, – mentioned Kateryna Amosova.

In her turn the chief doctor of Kyiv city hospital for invalids of the Great Patriotic War, participants in military actions and participants in anti-terrorist operation Zachek Liubov informed that at the hospital there are the possibilities and the desire to rehabilitate the seriously wounded but the necessary material base lacks.

“We are very grateful to the students of medical university, students’ trade union for desire to help our hospital. I think that our cooperation will not be finished only with the purchase of equipment as future medical men already express the desire to be volunteers at rehabilitation center and to help soldiers on their own”.
