FIRST VOLODYMYR YURYCHKO SCHOLARSHIP

At the end of last year the University Scientific council took the decision to commemorate the memory of student in NMU Volodymyr Yurychko, who gave his life for Ukraine. The parents of Volodymyr – Volodymyr Volodymyrovych and Liliia Bohdanivna – were invited to that meeting of Scientific council. All people remembered their brilliant speech: in their stories about the son they emphasized that the students’ community of medical higher school played the great role in patriotic development of Volodymyr.

This thought was heard at the first meeting of special commission, which was held on 4, March, 2015 in saint bishop Luka (Voyno-Yasenetskyy) lecture hall and was devoted to assignment of Volodymyr Yurychko scholarship, where the father of the hero was at the head. The commission shall elect two best candidates among six ones. According to the decision this personal scholarship is assigned twice a year in the amount of UAH 1,500. In addition to honest study, the main criteria for election were the patriotic public position, participation in Revolution of Dignity and zone of ATO. The members in commission, consisting of 24 persons – parents of Volodymyr Yurychko, prorectors, deans, public leaders, teachers and students, during active discussion mentioned that all candidates are worthy of this honorary title of scholarship holder. As every one of them with its energetic activity testified the high national consciousness and aspiration for building up the fair state.

As a result from secret voting the first holders of Volodymyr Yurychko scholarship were students of the 2^nd course in medical faculty No 2 Olesya Zhukovska and student of the 3^rd course in medical faculty No 3 Oksana Mykhayliuk, who undertook further worthily to bring this honorary title and actively to continue the patriotic work.
